Sounds very boring, but I genuinely believe that SG & Co liked the idea of the CiC style ownership (as did many of us). That's not the issue.
Anyway, I spent countless hours and cash following SMFC around the fleshpots of Div 1 when Big Daddy Bone was in charge. I turned up at all the games of a mind-numbingly sh*te 44 league game season in the early 90s. They called for the fans to attend and save the club. I came, I saw, and I almost had a coronary at the Jim Gardner/Alex Bone horror show. Did I clamour for an an answer from Bob Earlie ? No...but I f*cking should have.
BTW Poz - last post was fair comment Bud.

I was sceptical, then got behind it, but when I saw one of the main players quite casually telling supporters some big fat whoppers, then I thought it was time to head for the exits.
If other folk are happy to stay with a bid where the main man has been shown to openly lie to SMFC supporters, then to paraphrase the late, great SunnyFoxbarSaint, "Yer aff yer f**kin' heid".

The word "sold" is an interesting one reborn. It looks like 10000 hours only have £500K capital to invest (all of which is debt to Bii). That would mean that there would be an outstanding £750K debt to the selling consortium making them the biggest debtors. Who actually owns the club is an interesting question. I don't think the word "sold" is appropriate when talking about 10000 hrs. We have still to see how the bid is being funded.

At the last public meeting I was still swithering. Itwas 10000 hrs big chance to outline exactly how they were going to fanance the deal and support and grow SMFC moving forward. They chose not to. Instead all they chose to focus on scaremongering. However, it was a belter of a response after the meeting that nailed it for me. I commented that the deal was underfunded......the response from a would be interim board member was along the lines of....."when your buying a house you don't worry about how you are going to pay the mortgage, you just go ahead and buy it then figure out how to make it work later."
Now from a business perspective that isn't actually a bad philosophy if you are starting from scratch...building a new business and the initial investment is low and the risk is high.
For a sustainable business model on which to run a football club that is an important part of the lives of many good people (and kendo ) we need something a bit more than a pair o' bawbags over inflated egos.
This isn't a suck it and see situation for a cunning business plan that might pay big dividends. There is zero sign of any big dividends from 10000 hrs and that is openly admitted by them. Instead it is a high risk venture with zero upside.
They've repeatedly been challenged to provide the finacial details and a business plan and have repeatedly hidden behind commercial confidentiality. Div's "nutshell" post earlier demonstrates quite clearly to me that he doesn't have the information either, or if he does he doesn't understand it.
I have yet to see a fan with no vested interest stand up and say that they have seen the financials and they are okay with them. Instead we have mindless cheerleaders trying to railroad fans into supporting a business plan they haven't seen and don't even understand the bare bones of.
We were told the business plan was vetted by the £750K grant funder......er okay....where's the money stoopit? What happened to the rest of the funders who had also approved the business plan - in principle.
The last press release stated that they were having to go back to Bii yet again...but were continuing with the bid even though the £500K loan isn't even in place.
The entire scheme is now based on wing and a prayer blind hope from what is a minority of our support. The numbers don't add up. No cnut has seen the business plan or the breakdown of the £1.25M bid. No update has been provided on the 87 club or 1877 club memberships....the 1877 club memberships supposedly making up for the shortfall from all the social funders rejecting 10000 hrs application for funding / loans.
    As nutshells go....pish!

Highly amusing that the online marketing weigh in with nonsense about how they'll be demanding information from alternative bids as if its got anything to do with them. This is a business transaction between a selling consortium and a bidder meeting their asking price. There is no fans cash involved so like it or not it's got f"k all to do with the online marketing. You either continue to buy your season ticket or you f"k off in the huff like StuDickson because it didn't go the way you wanted it to.
10000 hrs could have been great for the club when the £750K grant funding was there. That grant funding was the foundations of the entire project. When that went 10000 hrs was in quicks and clutching at straws. Fans have to be applauded for their backing of the scheme to the last...but its time to look at it with real world eyes and realise that the financial strength to take the club forward just isn't there.
The selling consortium as they have always done since the creation of the 52% shareholding have complete control over the future direction of the club. They could have settled for the few sheckles that 10000 hrs had managed to scrape together and left the club genuinely in the shite.
It is time for the 10000 hrs marketing team to give it a rest and let the selling consortium get on with the difficult job of securing a bright future for the club, its fans and the wider community. St Mirren Football Club is more important than the personal ambitions of a few committee types. As 10000 hrs very well know there are stipulations in play for all bids for the club. There is a requirement for growing the community side of the club as well as a requirement for fans involvement. Selective hysterics from the usual suspects. Stop trying to mislead your fellow fans.

Eh sorry but I can't see where i quoted a 'Red Carpet' in my post, where did you read that? sorry I see you just invented it for dramatic effect. poor form!
What you may wish to consider is if the selling consortium accept his bid it won't matter a f**k what colour carpet you roll out, or even if you leave bare lino..... if this guys has the money to complete then he will be the majority shareholder. what comes after is how he goes about his business???
And we'll only know that when he's in!
This, if concluded will be a business lesson for 10000 (and counting down) hours in how to conduct yourself, how to not over promise, miserably under deliver, and not get engaged in scaremongering, slandering and giving away the business and revenue generating opportunities to third parties
Poz i see you didn't quote my suggestion that he should involve the 1000 saints fans who are willing to invest! poor form.

This is indicative of the poor communication regarding the "process" that fans aren't allowed to question. Rather than just trot out that it is common practise why not provide a link to information that confirms the common practice and provide some examples to help fans understand. Instead it just reads as arrogance and doesn't really address concerns that are being repeated and read ad nauseum.
The handover process for the club has never been outlined proprely for fans who I would imagine will be absolutely bricking it at that point, just as we were all very nervous when the first soil was broken at Greenhill Road.
Fans aren't stupid; however the communication from 10000 hrs is.
