Ignore the dafties Danny; cup games always throw up these sorts of results. GMP made it to hampden twice employing the exact same tactics as @yr. Just as you learned quickly from last season in the SPL, learn this harsh lesson in cup football and kick on from it. However, don't strap on the suicide bomb of criticising the opposition for outsmarting and outplaying you. Not the done thing old bean. You are quick enough to kiss the OF's @rse - be a good sport and congratulate the opposition. Ayr like us are the good guys.

Nah, just the usual suspects trying to spread rumours that it is dead. I posted a press conference sytyle noise up about it being dead and big frassled shot his anti-CIC muck all over his computer screen. Now his backpedalling would put Aaron Mooy to shame.

    The CIC/RA Report Card
Worth a look at the young anklecicer’s report card as the October school week approaches.
    CIC
Based on his research and presentations this should now be in place. Various critics/sceptics, Somner, Animal, Ted, seem to have been proved correct overall. while flagwavers, Poz, Div, Sid, TSU, certain journalists etc, despite their defence and belief seemed to have like so many fallen for the slick talk and promise of places on one of the many boards.

    Sustainability
Announcing in public that you will walk away if things don’t pan out leaving the club to be run by a collection of 3 committees is hardly the way to go about attracting public funding of around £1,000,000. Imagine the government department handing over the money and the main man walking out a few months down the line. Amateur.

    Salesmanship
See above. Stunts like pulling out a mobile phone saying that might be the final 1% calling right now while at a meeting called about nothing just to keep the punters happy have to be seen for what they are. Although to be fair turning the biggest section of funding into a mere 1% which is in turn believed by many has to be applauded.
Some local businessmen who were initial backers of the scheme are now amongst its/his most scathing critics.

    Commercial Director
After so long no sign or announcement of any innovation whatsoever, save some crazy suggestions that attracted ridicule in the press. Laundry - a washout. Church services - don’t go there. CIC members’ bar - an easy sell, some may say beads for the natives.

    Strip
Strip in appearance is excellent as is the change strip. Quality while not great is commercially acceptable. Talk of a third kit is ridiculous. Trying to link it to 135 anniversary is window dressing, especially as that anniversary is October 2012.
Availability is poor unless you go to the back rack at the back of JD Sports. SMFC brand presence on the ‘high street’ and throughout Paisley at its lowest since the early seventies.

    Sponsorship
Looks strange. Rumour amongst local businessmen is that very little if any cash benefit to club. The manufacturers putting an associated brand on the kit they manufacture and sell indicates that they would make no money if a decent cash figure changed hands.

    Stadium
The Yellow/Carbrini/JD St Mirren Park. Word on the street is that although paid for by Carbrini no real sterling passed hands. Even the Hall of fame boards are predominately JD. These will have to be replaced when the contract ends too. The St. Mirren brand is sadly relegated in favour of JD. Poorly executed overall.

    Shop
An unmitigated disaster. Story is that he has washed his hands of this. Shop is reduced to some leisure shirts, available in any colour as long as it’s grey, and first strips. Don’t ask about the change top. Almost nothing for children. Forget flags, hats, scarf selection. Cover stories of tight stock management are ridiculous. This is hardly Marks and Sparks. A disgrace. Must have cost the club thousands over the period.

    Events
A Paisley business that attends every function was disappointed that there will be no second dinner this year, usually November. One of the reasons being the uncertainty in the community. Another loss. The commercial manager must be going mad.

    Communication
An unmitigated disaster 2. A catalogue of missed deadlines, meetings dressed to suggest progress, information given to the chairman who is quoted in the press and tv that a deal is only a few days away; again, and again. A complete blackout of information for the (loyal) supporters (of the cic) on websites and the cessation of answering questions months ago.

    Understanding his subject
A total lack of understanding. Referring to St Mirren FC as a ‘boutique’ football club must rank as the biggest mis-understanding of the pride and mentality of football fans and Buddies ever. We are a traditional but innovative club in our own right and have nearly always been in the top division of football.

Danny Lennon, we have taken you for granted. We've had some pretty shite refereeing decisions against us, but Kenny Shields embarrassed himself, as did his players by moaning like wee f**king girls, whilst our lionhearts would just get on with it. Great performance, great atmosphere, great manager, great assistant. It's a good time to be a buddie! :D

buddie172 reacted to thewestender in No fans control and club loses revenue with CIC
Having read Richard Atkinson’s information document, seen his presentation slides and read the live Tweet report from the public meeting last week, St Mirren fans should be aware of the following before deciding whether or not to give their money to the 10,000 Hours CIC company -
    1. St Mirren fans and the local community will NOT be in ‘control of the destiny of the club’ as Mr Atkinson puts it. Despite all the PR spin and media hype, St Mirren fans will NOT be running the club.
At the public meeting and stated in the live Tweet of the meeting, Mr Atkinson said that an executive board of 10,000 Hours - made up of Mr Atkinson and ‘the guys who have created the CIC’ will retain control of St Mirren’s ‘budget’ and ‘significant contracts’.
This executive board is self-appointed, unelected, unaccountable and does not contain representatives of the fans paying £10 a month, community groups paying £500 a year or companies paying £10,000 a year.
The club’s budget, (how much is spent on the player pool) and who is offered a ‘significant contract’ (manager, coaches and players) are the two most important areas that are central to the success of any football club and whether St Mirren remains in the SPL or is taken to the lower divisions.
This small band of individuals on Mr Atkinson’s executive board - and not the members board of 10,000 Hours made up of fans’ representatives - will effectively control the club.
    2. Under the CIC proposals, St Mirren Football Club will lose out on revenue that normally would have gone directly to the club for player budgets etc. Instead of going to the club, this money will be used to repay the loans taken out to pay off the directors who are selling their shares.
Mr Atkinson says in his information document that ‘it is 10000hours that is entering into any borrowing, and not the club directly.’ However, he goes on to admit ‘the funding to repay any debt will come from two main areas. Firstly, the enhanced trading of the assets of St Mirren FC an area all recognise as under-utilised, especially since the stadium move.
Mr Atkinson is admitting that extra revenue from ‘trading on the assets’ of the club will not go to the club but to pay off the CIC debt incurred to buy the shares of Gilmour and Co. While Mr Atkinson is claiming he doesn’t intend to use the stadium to secure the CIC’s debt, he is going to use revenue from St Mirren FC to pay off that debt.
This is confirmed in the Tweet report of the public meeting last week which says ‘Richard explaining that the club has many under-utilised assets. 10000Hours intends to use these assets to generate extra revenue.’
And revealing what is going to happen to this extra revenue from the club, Mr Atkinson says in his presentation ‘Most fans that are familiar with the new stadium in comparison to the old recognize that there are a number of underutilized assets. 10000hours will exploit these opportunities in order to pay off any debt element of the funding.’
In a nutshell, the fans are being asked to fund the 10,000 Hours purchase of the consortium’s majority shareholding along with over £1 million in loans. Money that would normally benefit the club through its own commercial activities will instead go to pay off the debts taken on by the CIC to buy a majority shareholding.
And while all this is going on, the real power and influence in how the club is being run - control of the club’s budget, who the manager is and which players are signed – lies with Mr Atkinson and his friends on the executive committee with no input from fans or community.

    Folks,
While it is not terribly practical to answer questions on a piecemeal basis just now we will start to go through some of the previously posted questions on this and the offical forum that can be answered in a more straight forward manner, in order to clear up some easily resolved queries.
We will have some online Q&A sessions shortly and the public meetings which will be a better forum to deal with some of the more complex questions and concerns.
We all appreciate your patience and the fact that many are really giving the issue considerable thought and articulating some worthy questions.
