  2. Good luck to the business and your sister. I love the name and I've heard it from my old man but I don't know it's history. I know he/she is a town "character". Along with Cuthbert and W G Finlay.
  3. All this talk about women's football and all we can talk about is our bollocks!
  4. The way the ball came to him he did well not to put it into his own net.
  5. Thommo was superb tonight and showed the spirit needed to get Saints up the table. Also well done to young Kelly at full back who done really well.
  6. I don't get to many games so I don't respond to most of the posters on here who watch us home and away but in the first 2 games of the season you are wrong. A dodgy penalty in Inverness and a 3-0 defeat was hard to take and Kilmarnock were never in cruise control in the 1-1 draw. What annoyed me about the Killie game was the lack of urgency about the match. We were down 1-0 when Boyd went off and we should have went on to win that match but I walked back to the pub with a sense of "och well". Never felt for a minute we were worse than them. St Mirren were poor in both these games but to suggest we were lucky to lose 3-0 and lucky to draw with Killie is wrong. Is it a Paisley thing to look at life through a half empty glass that has a crack down the side.
  7. I wish I was Danny, a decent man who made my dreams come true. I wish I had his ability to win a trophy with the team I have supported all my life despite the chances being slim. I wish I had half the ability of the people in our club who do their best day in and day out to make the people of Paisley and further afield proud of the football team we are so passionate about. I wish the folk who support our football team were of the same moral fibre as them.
  8. I thought it was an average game at best and a point apiece was fair. Disappointing that we couldn't beat 10 men but that's St Mirren for you. McLean was struggling after half time and was hooked too late in my opinion whilst an older Teale on the other wing got stronger as we pushed on. Is there a fitness issue there? We made the better chances and Samson played well but I thought Killie were the better team. We can be a lot better and as the season goes on I think we'll be ok. It was good to see Grainger pushing on when Killie were down to 10 men, he looks a player going forward.
  9. Keep sending the Wonga we desperately need it. Travel costs down to Paisleyland to visit the culture of your wonderful Town are crippling my economy, see you in Paddys next weekend.
  10. That's stripey, wondered where he'd f**ked off to.
  11. Don't understand the fuss.
  12. I'm loving the passion running through the veins of the buds on here, I'm as frustrated as the next but we must have the most negative fans on the planet. Last year at this stage we sneaked a last minute goal from Darren McGregor to steal a point from the Highlanders. We went on to having one of the most glorious moments of our lives.
  13. Flights are booked for this one, hope Danny turns things around after todays hiccup. Mon the Saints.
  14. Shetland Saints are trying out Inverness's finest boozers tonight.
  15. In days of yore I've heard the Saints faithful question the hygiene of the Grenockions, the parenthood of referees, the apparent abuse of woolly farmyard animals by a group of fans from the Aberdeen area....I could probably go on but I can't be arsed. As a paying fan I couldn't give a fcuk what goes on and if it makes a folks day to get something "aff their chest" then go for it. It doesnae bother me. When it becomes impossible to get rid of frustration at a game of football then I'll call it a day. I really don't care what individuals shout and ball, a wee quiet mutter of "nutter" to a mate usually does it for me.
  16. Great composure for the goal by Harkins he looks the part. Thought this might jog my recollections of my last visit to Stockport but naw....Thanks HSS!
  17. My son and his girlfriend are flying down for the game. I'll make it down for the Killie game in a few weeks time.
  18. There used to be a tie in with Aberdeen regarding a youth team from Ghana, Datus academy if I remember. We(Shetland) played against them at u16s although that only seemed to apply to our team as they all appeared to be quite a bit older. Their technical ability was incredible but discipline was a big let down. They came from feck all and had to beg, borrow or steal their kit. Good luck to Frazer it'll be a fantastic opportunity for him.
  19. Naw thought I might wait 'til March, thats the Ashtree booked for me and my son and a room at my sisters for my daughter.
  20. Thats the flights booked, Shetland Saints are on their way.
