Ball Boy (2/14)

  1. Salmonbuddie. Our previous router wasn't up to much, but Virgin have just given us a free replacement which is much better. Though they did try to charge us £60 once we recieved it. We politely refused to pay it of course. It seems now is a good time to ask for one. Nowt to lose by asking.
  2. up for the game tomorrow. Fancy a Last Post breakfast, but wondering what time i can get a pint with it. If they're not serving, are there any alternatives for a bevy about 10am?
  3. Shocked by the news. Derek was always very welcoming and hospitable when ever we were up to see Saints. Last season at Tynecastle i was under the stand at half time, alone, when i saw his familiar friendly face, making a bee-line in my direction to talk to me. He was a great lad. On behalf of the Newcastle Saints, RIP Derek.
  4. I loved the old 80s games. Moon Cresta, Gorf, galaga, Mr Do, galaxians just some of them.
  5. About to have my first night out in Paisley for many a year in November. Are there any lively bars left these days? Is what used to be "club 30" still there in New St? We could go up to Glasgow, but for me it would feel a bit like going to Sunderland for a night out. Just got no allegiance with the place.
  6. watched most of the cup game yesterday via myp2p.eu. Gave me access to a channel called justintv. What was funny was that the full title of the link was justintv/F**KTIM/popout.
  7. Interesting, the bit about the lad at Glasgow Uni. We're all MAD Newcastle fans at the minute. We have to be. Good to see someone else with a Newcastle/Saints connection however.
  8. There's a decent indoor shopping centre in Darlo, "The Cornmill Centre", though it's hardly Breahead or the Metrocentre standard. I'd planned a trip elsewhere before this fixture came about. Would've loved to have been at this game. It's probably as close as Saints have played to Newcastle in all the years i've been watching them. For anybuddie drinkng in Newcastle at the weekend, enjoy.
  9. Just checked the calendar and i'm almost certain the next bank holiday down here in England is on August 25th, though another day off work would be welcome. Hope you all get some digs sorted anyway.
  10. I stayed at the Kings Head hotel last November. It couldn't be more central, but it cost about £60 for the room that night. Very nice though.
  11. Just had a look on the travelodge web-site and you can get a room nearby, starting at £29 for a room for 3 people. When i say nearby, i mean a reasonable taxi ride away, 4-6 miles. There's a few to choose from. The example i gave was staying at Washington services. If you're driving, that's on the way to Newcastle from Darlington anyway. Darlington's a decent place but you'd have a great night in the Toon. I only wish i could join some of you.
  12. I wish. I've just been saying in general discussion that i've already booked to go elsewhere that weekend.
