No really as I normally manage between 4-6 games mixed between Aberdeen, Dundee/Utd and Perth.

Anyhow, no hassle on the roads on the way here, seen some white stuff faraway up on the high ground but not a drop on the roads.

Just settling down for a bit of grub and watch the OF game.

We've all been given a free bet on the correct score, I went for 1-1 at 11/2 :thumbs2

Nice of you to invest in the opposition like that, whilst depriving St Mirren of income because you don't like criticism.

    😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Oh my aching sides. Irony in the extreme. Aye. I've ignored your last few petty digs and will ignore most of your inevitable taunts.

    But this was comedy gold!

    😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

It can be anybody from the history of our great Club, 1877 to the present day .

Player, Manager, Backroom Staff, Office Staff, Directors etc .

    Only one person for me.

    TONY FITZPATRICK

His love and enthusiasm for St Mirren does it for me. Also, what a magnificent footballer he was .

    STATUE FOR FITZY.

    I concur.

    Gets my vote too.

Sounds like a good night BinEK.....With regards to the regeneration of Greenock, I live and work in Inverclyde, Scotts has been a welcome addition to the area but we'll see how it does longer term as Greenock hasn't been great at supporting it's restaurants this last ten years or so. The regeneration, good as it's been, pretty well stops at the Waterfront and is a bit of a gripe for the local citizens as the money has been spent for the Cruise Ship Tourists and not the locals (not my gripe I hasten to add). The Beacon, which I like, cost a fortune and loses money year on year which is a pity as it's a fantastic facility. Beyond that Greenock is in a pretty sorry state I'm afraid until you get through to the West End and into Gourock.

    That's a shame to hear.

Hopefully money will filter into local businesses from the increased Waterfront activity.

Totally agree about the Beacon. I've been to a number of gigs in there and it is a fabulous resource.

  4. Had a lovely night last night... In Greenock!

Went for dinner first in Scott's down at the waterfront.

It has to be said... The regeneration of Greenock has been quite incredible, leaving Paisley as the rundown Inverclyde sibling. 😥

Last night was a great show as Greenock based but Paisley born singer celebrated 20 years as a solo artist with a sold out gig in the Town Hall.

In her band was Wet Wet Wet guitarist Graeme Duffin. IMG_20231209_195723.thumb.jpg.c92f86e73224b5623a504dfaedc5a65e.jpg

  5. Last Saturday was Adriana Spina in the Georgian Hotel with her first headline gig there after several support slots. Great night.

    Last night was insane.

Former frontman of The Grim Northern Social, Ewan MacFarlane blew the roof off the same venue with a high octane two hour set that captivated the capacity crowd from start to finish.

Episode 3 was a wee bit slow but 4 picked up the pace again!

I’ve always loved storytelling where they tell you where the story’s going, you start recognising how that’s going to happen…. Then they shock and surprise you by getting there in a wholly original direction.!

    This does that.

Also the most minor of characters, perhaps with only 2 words in an early scene, leap back to figure again, but much bigger and significant this time.

(I’m now expecting/hoping someone “trivial”  from the opening scenes to be quite inventively slaughtered in episode 6 - no spoilers)

Planning to watch 3 and 4 tonight.

    Thanks for the heads up.

    Boat Story.

6 one hour episodes. (Available on iPlayer, now)

I watched  episodes 1 and 2 on Sun and Monday.  BBC.

Excellent - fast, funny, brutally and gratuitously violent.  Critics complain that it’s too Coen Brothers or Tarantino-ish… which I see as V. complimentary.

genuinely funny and a wonderfully intricate/complicated style of storytelling.

eg we saw the Epilogue as Prologue early in the first episode.  Just shows what confidence the writers have in the material.

    Fantastic acting.

it’s by Harry Williams and Jack Williams, who wrote The Missing and Baptiste….  Which I’ve not seen but might now look for.

Watched episode 1 on your recommendation.

    You were spot on.

    Watching episode 2 now.

    Top tip thanks.

  8. A belter last night...

Tom Robinson with support from local artist Bobby Motherwell who runs gigs in Howwood and performs under the name Sulidae.

3 hours of absolute brilliance for the sold out crowd.

First time seeing TR but he certainly impressed and I'll be sure to see him if he returns.

He is playing in Howwood tonight but I think it will be sold out too.

Ian McNabb,  Excellent this evening at Rocknrollas.

Wish it had been me... That would have been great.

Fresh from Jools Holland and Billy Sloan's shows, I saw Wreckless Eric tonight for the first time.

Fair to say that he has his fans, hence the sell out crowd. A few songs I liked, but I wouldn't rush back.

Not quite sure what point you're trying to make. So, I looked up your profile? Big deal. I've looked up dozens of profiles on here. I didn't say anything was wrong in your post. I said, very clearly, that I read it wrong.  I got involved initially because I thought you were being unfair to Basil (for once). That's the point of forums such as these - to get involved.

So you read something in my post...

    Decided to wade in.

To prove a point you went fishing.

You then made a wrong assumption after looking up my profile to prove me wrong.

Now you play the offended card.

This is funnier than anything on TV tonight by a mile.

  11. 12 minutes ago, saint in exile said:

You're the one making an issue of it.  I've already said I was wrong, but you don't seem to be able to accept that.

You said you read my post wrong.

    You repeated that.

Nothing in my post was wrong.

You went out of your way to look up my profile in order to make a point. Then you cocked up.

    Keep wading.

If picking an argument unnecessarily, try not to be so sensitive.

It's entirely true. I read your post wrongly and commented on it based on my misinterpretation. I was wrong. I accept that. There's no need to accuse someone of lying. It would have been sufficient to say "you're wrong" or "I didn't do that". But you can't help yourself, can you?

Not sure why you are making an issue here or being antagonist when I have no truck with you.

Guess who the last person to look up my profile was?

Why you chose to wade in I don't know... but you are very much in the wrong and I stand by my original statement.

All this for trying to be positive in the face of defeat! 🤐

No, I didn't. I made a simple mistake in misreading your post. Some of us are quite willing to accept when we make an error, while others resorts to libelous accusations.  I trust you will accept YOUR mistake

    That's not true, is it?

    You didn't misread my post.

You checked up on me then waded in based on an incorrect assumption from something you misread.

    Totally needless and avoidable.

Calling someone a liar seems like abuse by your absurd standards. You’re a serial abuser. 😲

You claimed I was using a racist term by using snowflake. It was embarrassing.

He made a statement/accusation that was absolutely without truth.

You then tried to build on it without bothering to check facts. No surprise there.

How about just not replying and letting the good people of the forum discuss more important matters?

Seems strange BEK is absolutely fine with abusing (by his take on abuse) some people, but not others. Some would call it clear double standards.

    He lied.

You believed the lie and tried to use it against me as deflection.

    Business as usual then.

One day you might get something right boo boy.

    😂😂😂😂
