Haven't you just described Johnny Cash?
I suppose I was making the point that (as good as he is) there is more to country than Johnny cash.

For what it's worth I think Country Music has suffered from a traditional image of being sickly predictable trash.
There;s been a change in recent years in both image and the people delivering the songs.
The latest being Beyonce with a cracking song called Texas Hold em, although played to death up here on Radio Tay.
Definitely an upturn and new audiences liking the change in image.
The "old style" will continue but the new performers and audiences can put Country Music at the forefront of the music scene for the immediate future.
Absolutely, the amount of under 30s I have met who are into contemporary country is unreal.

Cards on the table, I absolutely hate Country music. I just don't get its appeal. Nah, I f'cking loathe it.
Anyway, Radio 2's Vernon Kay morning show this week has featured interviews with a guy called Brad Paisley who is apparently a famous Country music musician. He will be doing a concert tonight in Glasgow, and seeminglyhe has been here before.
He told Vernon Kay that he loves arriving at Glasgow airport and seeing a big "PAISLEY" sign and a huge Paisley pattern banner.
It made me smile that Glasgow airport was being acknowledged as actually being in Paisley.
You got me thinking about how I came to appreciate country music Wilbur. I was probably a bit like you up until about 10 years ago, old guys dressed as cowboys lamenting about the good ol days. Then just by accident I heard the song below on the radio, loved it, downloaded the album, loved it, didn’t even realise it was country. This then opened my eyes to a genre I had totally overlooked. You might just find your key? Maybe it’s Brad Paisley 👍🏻

I've since heard what you posted and it seems a mixture of your stupidity, which isn't debateable, and slightly racist opinion.
All in all, I don't see many defending you on P&B.
Most are glad you're gone.
Slightly racist?

Aye, removing the "like" function is a mistake just because one guy was abusing it.

Quite honestly? I believe it more to do with profile more than who's involved. Perhaps it's indicative of the society we live in that we only focus on the issues we see on the many media platforms. Look at the reduction in vocal the calls for assistance for Ukraine. The Israeli assault on innocent people and the destruction of a whole nation's infrastructure in Palestine has taken over the headlines. You make a good point in as much as we should be calling out ALL atrocities but it doesn't lessen the guilt of the Israeli war mongers intents to obliterate a whole nation state.
I would give you a like for this but the function has been removed? Yes your right about our society being influenced by the bipolar episodes of twitter etc 👍🏻

And I don't understand why ANYONE would endorse the destruction of millions of peoples' lives, homes and communities to do so. The Israelis, from day one, have indiscriminately bombed hospitals, homes, villages and decanted millions to "safe areas" only to make those areas unsafe by indiscriminately bombing those regions. It really makes me wonder if there wasn't SOME truth in the disgraced labour candidates assertions.
“You don’t understand ANYONE who would endorse the destruction of millions of peoples lives” I am not having a go at you personally Stlucifer as you always make a civil post, however the hypocrisy of this post is astounding. The civil war in Syria has been going on for 13 years and has killed between 1/4 and a 1/2 million Syrians and created 6 million refugees. Turkey continues to bomb Syrian refugee camps regularly and yet I don’t see any marches or demonstrations every Saturday in our major city’s or our parliament in turmoil about asking for a ceasefire. Why? I can only assume it’s because Syria is not a Jewish state.
Will this forum survive the new hate crime act?
