And no one could fail to notice the atrocious weather we now get in Scotland their mismanagement has caused, can't recall ever getting weather like this under a unionist government,
And for the benefit of our younger posters, back in the day we'd spend all our summers holidays soaking up the sun for weeks on end in Saltcoats Stevenson with all the amenities these resorts had to offer, A cooling breeze, sand and eh big sandy hill things, we were spoiled rotten back in those days
All a distant memory under this SNP government
Your trip down memory lane is very nostalgic, however I did say current SNP government. The FM thought it would make prudent fiscal sense to freeze the council tax in some sort of populist publicity stunt at a time when local councils are struggling (indeed some may be on the brink of bankruptcy) this freeze will benefit everyone one, however should it benefit everyone? (Bands F,G,H) add onto this a raft of universal benefits and your looking at major cuts in services. I think one of the council run care homes in Paisley is in line to be closed in 2024.

It’s never pointless to ask you might not agree with the views but never pointless.

The {glesga burd} Michelle Mone 200 million smackaroonies story broke in January 2022 it took BBC Scotland 5 months to report anything aboot it
Meanwhile when the news broke that £60 quid had gone missing from the SNP's Jam Jar they were all over it like a rash and blanket covered it for months on end
The sort of biased reporting that gets on yer Tits
Can you see a link here Albion
Comparing apples and pears (no pun intended with Michelle) Mrs Mone case was not a criminal case, still don’t think it is? Morally very dodgy but not criminal. The £600k that went missing involved the highest public servant in the land and her husband and was a criminal case from the start. Do I think the beeb is biased, absolutely, but not with the example you provided PS.

Been reading some reviews and all pretty positive.
No not seen it. However season 5 of Fargo is on prime and it’s excellent.

Anything that the original poster sticks up should be questioned for veracity.
Here’s a similarly “taken out of all context” quote to balance his bollox and give you a better understanding of the CEO’s actions.
Aviva’s own 2022 latest gender pay gap report reveals that 278 senior leaders at the insurance company are female, and senior male employees account for more than double this, at 560.
Meanwhile, just 78 of Aviva’s senior leaders are ethnically diverse, versus 670 who are white.
The figures hardly scream that Aviva is anti-white or anti-male.
What Blanc appears to be saying (if clumsily) here is that the organisation is looking to clamp down on ‘jobs for mates’ and make sure that historically discriminated against people get the same opportunities as others. This is not about refusing white men, a diverse group of people within itself, a place at the table unless they do not deserve it.
There is far more to diversity and discrimination than gender or race, and this is something that insurance companies do need to get to grips with.
Nevertheless, Blanc and her top team are not wrong to scrutinise hiring processes.
“Checked for veracity” that made me chuckle. You can be the official veracity officer for the general nonsense section of BAWA. I will however have to check your not “non-diverse” or the other posters will rebel in horror. Good luck with your new post 🫡

We are now feeling the full force of poor economic management from the current SNP government.

It’s not often I see a news story that boils my piss but here we go.
Ofgen suggesting that you pay slightly more in your utility bill to subsidise those that are struggling to pay.
People struggling to pay is bad news and these are tough times for many but why ask others to pay?
Instead why don’t the Utilities themselves, instead of paying dividends, give these people a rebate and pay lower dividends?
Are times really that tough for cash strapped utilities?
If this was France they’d already be rioting!

It was, though. In various - thankfully evanescent - guises.
It makes for an interesting visit on a few levels.. The history, the architecture, the workmanship, the beauty… and it sits above a great, wee glen: quite deep but good for a daunder.
ETA
if you did fancy a visit, I just recalled the excellent Landmark Trust place next door, perched over (and down by 2 floors) the gorge/glen that I mentioned.

ooops initially pasted the one below, when I really meant Collegehill
https://www.landmarktrust.org.uk/search-and-book/properties/rosslyn-castle-13940/#Overview
I note Collegehill still has some vacant times, whereas Rosslyn Castle already booked out!

pricey…

Could be a new revenue stream for the club🤔
Each week the club put out a photo of some maintenance or construction work at the stadium or training ground with a ladder, scaffold, or teleporter and then you have to guess where the unsafe worker is in the photo. An update on spot the ball. £1 a guess with maximum of 5 guesses. Winner gets a black and white hard hat.

Lucky for us that the USA, U.K. and most western governments have known Iran is funding Hamas and are not calling for a ceasefire 👍🏻

The reason why there is a 'Hamas' is because Israel has killed thousands more long before October 7 and denied the Palestinians their humanity.
Want to get rid of Hamas? Then give the Palestinians their freedom.
No it’s not. Hamas and all the other jihad terrorist groups are all funded by Iran who want Israel and Jews destroyed.

I'm a big fan of Douglas Murray. However, the old adage 'one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter' comes to mind. Michael Collins was considered a terrorist, as was Nelson Mandela. In that respect I can sympathise with the two Muslim gentlemen who feel that the West is hypocritical in considering Hamas to be terrorists for allegedly killing ~1,200 people whereas Israel has killed multiple times that number and is not condemned. I will add that I am not a fan of Hamas or Islam, but I can see their point.
I have not watched the video yet for context, so don’t judge me too harshly, however it appears in your text above that you don’t believe 1200 people were murdered on 7/10 ( the use of the word allegedly) ???
I don’t believe the west or Israel is hypocritical in thinking that Hamas are terrorists, as you can see from a section of the very lengthy table below, they have been more than happy to claim responsibility for terrorist attacks in the past and present. As for the argument around civilian deaths, again if Hamas are removed from Gaza the will not be able to use civilians as human shields in the future.
I am all for a Free Palestine ……from Hamas. -

Really? The NHS has a productivity problem, more doctors and more nurses than in 2019. It’s a money pit that consumes money at an alarming rate but has worst productivity figures than most comparative European health systems.
I am mindful that this is not the politics section and this thread should probably be moved.
