  1. Match programme interview: Bristol City v Bolton Wanderers 13/11/1980
  2. Ryan Brobbel is cockney rhyming slang for Julian Broddle
  3. At the Millennium Champions night event back in December, Tom Hendrie mentioned he would love to manage St Mirren again, so I would welcome him back in an instant. It clearly isn't working for Jack Ross, if he took the same amount of thought into his tactics as to about what cardigan he is going to wear then we wouldn't be still be bottom of the league.
  4. Training should be Sunday and not Monday the players don't desrve a day off, looks like they had a day off today
  5. On a lighter note Wednesday marks the 2nd anniversary of Div breaking the news that the club had been sold to an Argentinian consortium!
  6. Om Puri has passed away at the age of 66. He was a great Bollywood actor who moved into acting in many of the British/Desi films such as East Is East, and it's sequel West Is West, The Mystic Masseur and many more, was also in the excellent film Brothers In Trouble (one of my favourite films). I have many of his films on DVD. R.I.P.
  7. David Kid Jensen presenting and wearing a St Mirren jumper!

  11. I was updating my Discogs account and whilst I was on I searched for St Mirren just to see the 87 cup final single had been uploaded to the sight, it hasn't been yet but I was surprised to see that on the the search for St Mirren it showed a band called Phil Brady and The Ranchers released an album in 1971 called A Little Bit Of Country, and that the last track on side A of the album is called St Mirren, Not sure if the guy was a Saints fan or just liked the name, they are from Liverpool as far as I can gather. Has anyone ever heard the song itself? He has songs on Youtube but not the St Mirren one https://www.discogs.com/Phil-Brady-2-And-The-Ranchers-A-Little-Bit-Of-Country/release/3610202
  12. I have seen Pele as Amsterdam/Ian Prowse Off too see China Crisis tomorrow at Saltburn By The Sea
  13. Been listening to cult 80's Liverpool band This Final Frame, a compilation of their singles as well as 2 of their more recent albums. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rg5OE4Ez5dU
  14. Roses Are Red Violets Are Blue If you don't start winning Then we'll end up in Division 2* *(league one)
  15. Jamie Langfield is officially the world's worst goalkeeper.
  16. Highlights for me: 11 Sep 99 (A) Dunfermline 1-1 This was when I realised we could be title contenders and would not be involved in a relegation battle 23 Oct 99 (A) Ayr Utd 3-0 I stayed with relatives in Ayr after this match, was in a shop buying beer and a young guy was in shop clearly looking annoyed that his parents had obviously sent him to buy cat food, he was wearing an Ayr Utd top and looked even more upset when he saw red away top 6 Nov 99 (A) Morton 4-1 This was a few days after the Scumopoly story had made Reporting Scotland, an easy win over Morton 11 Dec 99 (A) ICT 1-1 We would have won 9 matches in a row in Derek Scrimgour wasn’t in goals that afternoon as he was at fault at a free kick that led to ICT’s goal 26 Feb 00 (A) Raith Rovers 2-1 We all thought we had blown it when Raith scored with minutes to go, which would have meant being knocked off of top place, if only we could get a draw Yardley in slow motion scores, we would still be top on goal difference, then Junior sprints down and scores, to me this was the match that won us the league 11 Mar 00 (H) Clydebank 8-0 Simply magnificent 22 Apr 00 (A) Ayr 2-1 Brilliant day, superb injury time winner from Paul McKnight and fun pitch invasion
  17. Ticket booked! Very much looking forward to it, season 1999-2000 was an amazing experience. Went to every single match apart from the opening fixtures 2 as I was holiday at the time.
  18. The 50 great matches was a disappointment as some of the choices in it of "great matches" were rather odd.
  19. Jack Ross is a good appointment, I was initially hoping for more a guy with more experience but after reading Jack's interview as well as the endorsements from his fellow peers has got me feeling very positive about him being St Mirren manager. I do think go times are ahead. Just disappointed he has to work a week's notice at Alloa, surely he has racked up some unused holiday time that he could have used to finish up there 4 or 5 days earlier. I was delighted when it wasn't Gus too, and Jack does like the fans also.
