  1. Danny Lennon was a breath of fresh air when he became manager of St Mirren, his atttitude was refreshing and he spoke in a postive manner about the fans unlike Gus. Danny is a genuiely nice guy, but it's time for him to no longer be manager of the club.

Winning the League Cup last year was great, but the cracks actually began to show prior to that with the poor 6 straight league defeats in a row in Oct/Nov 2012, the start to this season was also woeful and the start to 2014 has been disgraceful, but the signing policy has been his main downfall, signing so many players pre-season who have since left the club or rarely play, even the woeful season under Coughlan he made lots of bad signings but at least he tried and tested them in the team.

Thanks for the memories, but it's time to go/

  2. As long as we don't end up with another 'promising young manager punching above his weight in Scotland's lower divisions'. Hartley would be my worst nightmare - my season ticket will be posted back to Mr Gilmour if that wee reptile ever became our manager.

We need someone that has experience at our level or better. Shiels could be a decent appointment if he would agree to wearing a gag at post-match interviews.

I agree, I for one would not watch St Mirren if Hartley became our next manager.

We need to for an experienced manager this time around, Leivein does talk drivel sometimes but I think he would be a good appointment none the less, if we could afford Neil Warnock then that would be a better option.

  3. Danny Lennon will always be considered a legend as he was the manager that led the club to winning the League Cup for the first time, and for that the fans are forever grateful, but the woeful start to the season and 1 league win in 2013, as well as those 6 straight league defeats towards the end of 2012 is not good managerial material, and for that I have to say that Danny Lennon should do the honourable thing and resign as a manager, even his post match interview last night on Radio Scotland, he did not sound confident for his own future at St Mirren.

If he does go then who would we bring in? Anyone but Paul Hartley!

We should try and get in a manager who has at least 10 years of managerial experience, or someone who hasn't done the rounds in Scotland, would like to see someone from South of the border coming in, there are plenty of out work English managers available who jump at the chance to come to St Mirren.

  4. Pitchers Sports on Moss Street was always the place the I used to meet my mates before going to St Mirren games at Love Street, but does anyone recall an incident there from around 1983 or 1984 when some youths broke in to the store and threw footballs out of the window and were shooting them down with air-rifles? I have a vague recollection of this appearing on the front page of the Daily Record when I was at Primary School.

  5. 1. Vollmond - A Swiss beer that is only brewed on the night of a full moon (no joke!), hard to find, occassionaly lurking on some shelves in Peckhams, but thas the best flavour of any beer

    2. DAB - Dortmund lager, like Becks but far more refreshing taste to it

    3. Castlemaine Gold - Almost impossible to find in the UK, this Aussie lager excellent, almost has a thick texture to it, million times better that Castlemaine XXXX

    4. Steinhauser - This is only available in Aldi (but don't let that put you off!), it is brewed in Dortmund from the brewers that make DAB, 6 bottles for £3.29!

    5. Messina - Sicilian lager, really crisp, fairly easy to find in good off sales and Peckhams
