For what it's worth i'm not arguing with anyone. Nor am I belittling what Jack Ross achieved with us. My opinion is that if OK keeps us up it is a bigger achievement than JR. The squad that JR took over may have been in a worse of position but it was full of guys that could player at a higher level or win that competition. I dont think you could say the same for many in this squad. Factor in our budget in the championship was competitive while this seasons really isn't. For me staying in the premier would always be a better achievement than staying in the championship.
I remember hearing Craig Brown on off the ball after the last world cup. He discussed how he enjoyed reviewing statistics and that how they would affect how we would see teams play over the next season. Corners were one of the things he highlighted and how seldomly teams scored from them. He pointed out that a team was unlikely to score but very likely to give possession to the opposition. Obviously we did this on Saturday. I think we were spoilt having Mallan who was able to pinpoint Gary Mackenzie a couple of years ago but all in we need to be more imaginative when it comes to set pieces. Also when was the last goal from a free kick?
Jack Ross took over the bones of not too bad a squad. Oran Kearney took over we had imposters like kpawaka, Heaton, Jeff King, Edwards at a higher level that Jack Ross. I would consider Oran's achievement much better than JRs if we stay up.
The deal is we get 33% of any profit Hibs make on John McGinn. Hibs now have clauses in their transfer agreement with Vills. Any money they get for John McGinn (from their transfer agreement) from now on is profit we get our share of that.
