  1. I spoke to him and his agent yesterday and both told me he is coming to St Mirren in January.
  2. I'm another who detests the taste and smell of whisky. I rarely drink spirits but when I do it is a Cognac or Armagnac.
  3. Green is quoted today as saying that he will not allow Newco to enter the SPL on his watch. Does this suggest that he intends to get out before they reach this level?
  4. My first car (a second, third or fourth hand 8 year old Austin A35) had the registration mark NHS 365. Quite appropriate as I was a final year medical student at the time. It had a starting handle which was very useful when the battery became flat. In later years I regretted that I had not had the registration transferred to subsequent cars.
  5. Green's logic defeats me. He refuses to attend the hearing on the grounds that Newco Rangers have never been members of the SPL (which is true) but at the same time wants to hold on to the trophies won when the Oldco were there. Talk about having your cake and eating it!
  6. Read the last line of Div's answer again.
  7. Sid. You continue to quote very selectively. If you had read my previous post you would have seen that I was making no attempt to defend the financial viability of 10000 Hours. I was simply pointing out that no one can blame 10000 Hours for causing him to post abuse. The poster must be held responsible for the content of his post. If he cannot express his opinion without posting personal abuse, then he should be banned.
  8. Sid! You are talking even more rubbish than usual. No matter what your feelings about 10000 Hours or other fans' opinions, the only person who can be held responsible for abusive posts is the individual poster. If he/she cannot express his/her opinion without resorting to abuse, banning/suspension is justified.
  9. You may be right about the likelihood of finagling to get Newco The Rangers back in to the SPL ASAP, but today's Herald has a piece by Richard Wilson, an extract from which is below. "Sky Sports have agreed a five-year broadcast deal with the Scottish Premier League that will also include coverage of Rangers in the third division. Herald Sport understands that the deal is worth around £14m a season and contains no clauses regarding the return of the Ibrox side after one year. The contract is based on the assumption that Rangers will work their way back up the leagues, and so not returning to the SPL until the 2015/2016 season at least. The deal is worth around £2m per season less than the contract the SPL had previously agreed with Sky and which was due to begin this season, but there is less of a reduction than many clubs feared because Sky considers Rangers' games in the SFL as an additional product." It seems that Sky are not too bothered, but no one can predict what SPL chairmen and the SFA may get up to.
  10. As I said in a previous post, you are very selective in your reading. As far as I can see, there is a passing mention of the £1.1 million. The rest of the piece concerns positive suggestion to improve the Scottish football set up, such as bigger leagues, more teams promoted/relegated, referees no longer booking players for celebrating goals scored with their fans and moving the football season to the summer. You really do need to remove your blinkers!!
  11. Perhaps you have a cunning plan to "remove the 52% shareholding". These shares exist and are owned by the selling consortium. Not even you can make them vanish into thin air. Do you mean that the members of the consortium should be prevented from selling their shares if someone wants to pay the asking price?
  12. This is degenerating into a Somner9/St Sid thread, and neither has made a constructive comment in the last 3 pages (I couldn't be bothered reading any further back than that).
  13. Are you accusing 10000 Hours of money laundering? A bit extreme even for you.
  14. How often do SG and the other members of the consortium have to say that they want out, that they have had enough, that they can do without the hassle ..................?
  15. So 12 out of 40 clubs voted to allow the SPL to break away?
  16. I agree that the SPL has been a major disaster but I cannot figure out how St Mirren can be responsible for its foundation. St Mirren were in the first division at that time and, as I recall, the SPL was formed as a breakaway organisation by the clubs of the Scottish Premier Division.
  17. I have been following the trail of the proposed CIC since it first came on the scene and, although it has gone through various disguises, I still think it has potential. What does piss me off is the usual suspects on this forum continually starting new threads and going off at tangents. They seem to have reached the stage where they can't see the wood for the trees.and I can't be bothered reading any more of their drivel and I shall leave this forum until the deal is settled or not, as the case may be. Que sera sera!
  18. You are absolutely right in what you say (apart from the gratuitous insult). I was merely asking St Sid how he thought the CIC is going to be any worse off than the present board in dealing with any financial problems.
  19. Can you tell me how the present BoD will be able to manage the cash flow problems if Rangers are not around and Sky withdraw their funding? It seems to me that these cash flow problems will be there, whoever is in charge. They will not be caused by the CIC.
  20. St Sid, I do not know you but you were identified to me when you spoke at the recent CIC meeting. Having read many of your posts on the subject, I was surprised to hear how sensible, calm and collected you sounded. Perhaps if you kept your cool on this forum, stopped casting aspersions on the intelligence of others and gave up calling them names people might be more inclined to pay attention to what you say.
  21. Sid. What was it Disraeli said about Gladstone? "A sophistical rhetorician, inebriated with the exuberance of his own verbosity, and gifted with an egotistical imagination that can at all times command an interminable and inconsistent series of arguments to malign an opponent and to glorify himself."
  22. According to BBC Radio Scotland this morning Dundee Utd have said they will vote to exclude the Newco from the SPL. Hearts have already come out against it and BBC said Aberdeen will also do so. They expect to be able to confirm another two clubs by the end of today.
