'I pissed off back to France because Scotland is fcuking freezing, Paisley is a shithole, the manager is clueless, the home supporters are loudmouth bolshie blowhards, and the forum is full of multi-alias fcuktards talking shite. I stumbled upon Dickson's posts in the 'independence' thread and immediately thought 'fcuk this for a lark' and buggered off for the sake of my sanity'.
The PDE can have that free of charge.

....or win and we would be 2 points behind the fakes and 5 off the top 6 with a game in hand and our next match against the 6th place team. A win today and the top 6 (for what it's worth !) would be as possible as the play off place. It has tightened up but the top 6 is no further away if we were to win.

Hiding ? I think It's the fact he DOESN'T hide when he is not playing well that draws attention to his bad form. His passing especially has been poor for 4 or 5 games however despite this he still looks to get on the ball and thus his bad form is highlighted. No young player can be criticised for looking to get on the ball when not playing well if anything it's a plus point. Yes we didn't put enough tackles in during the second half but losing to Celtic is never the end of the world. It's tightening up at the bottom but we are still close enough to the top 6 to be in touch and the fakes are being drawn into the mix now too especially if we beat them on Saturday.

Just read this thread and I'm off to the Erskine Bridge !
I thought the rev I M Jolly was a long gone fictional character but clearly not.
We might get pumped but there again we might just win but either way these games are all but immaterial and in no way will define our season. Points against this vermin are a welcome bonus so hopefully the management and players will roll up the sleeves and get stuck in without fear (and lets all hope they don't go near this thread)

I think that's the third carbon copy goal Boyd has scored against us plus a couple of others. We appear to play a high line against him on exactly the basis you point out however from what I can see he is actually QUICKER than our CBs. I doubt that is raw speed but he has a good footballing brain and can pull off his designated marker onto the slower defender. He also plays right on the shoulder of his marker so despite a lack of raw pace I would hazard a guess we are playing him all wrong as once he has got in behind and is in on goal he, as top all time league scorer, invariably buries it. A high line with 20-30 metres in behind is not the way to play Boyd unless you have a fast mobile CB. Perhaps defending him a little deeper might be the answer in future.

He needs to get out on loan to a championship club and regular games would improve him physically. Impossible to say if he is good enough or not from his very limited opportunities. We might have another Stevie May in our ranks of he might just be another John Baird but he needs games to show what he can do. Problem is with such a small squad it's very difficult to let anyone go but Campbell's arrival is his opportunity to go imo.

Butcher and McInnes are playing with budgets that we can never match. Dunfermline, Dundee and Hearts collapsed because they spent money they never had to keep up, and we know what happened at Ipox. Should we do the same?

There was absolutely no booing at that sub by our support. Thomo had been poor but was applauded as was Harkins. A god awful game was fizzling out to draw both teams appeared to be accepting then a calamitous bit of defending by Cheezy saw him misjudge a routine punt up the park and the ball ended up rebounding off him ( his back possibly hard to say from our stand) straight to Boyd who strode through to finish well. We cannot keep throwing points away or we will be dragged back into the play off scrap. We had defended ok up to that point but it was a total disaster which cost us a point gifted 3 to our immediate rival in the table and cost us a place in the league - a huge price to pay. The top 6 is a pipe dream and when you saw the 11 that finished the game you realise just how thin our squad is.

You can question Jim's methods but I would hazard a guess he was doing exactly the job he was asked. Young lads playing at the top of their game full of gallus bravado against a team smarting from 2 bad defeats. What did anyone expect us to do - stand off them so we could all cream our pants about the amazing Utd talent while watching them pump us off the park ? Yes it looked bad on TV and yes it was a bit of a cheap shot but the boy wasn't hurt (rubbing the back of his head WTF) and the ref saw it and took no action. He might well get a ban now but let's not underestimate the part the challenges had in winning us a vital 3 points they shat their pants after 3 hard clashes in the 1st 10 mins. It horses for courses and we need every point we can get and personally I loved the game a cracking cup tie type match easily the most thrilling of the season.
