  1. Smith is our best player. Worrying times if he has been told he can leave.
  2. The recruitment process as a whole has been poor so far. The loan signings have very little first team appearance between them but at least they have there parent clubs to go back to
  3. Happy to have a bet with anyone we will win again this year. Emotions are running after today’s game and rightly so but it’s one game and we can only improve.
  4. The window is still open so some business can be done then give him time to get his completed squad and time to gel and get his message and philosophy drilled into him. Christmas is a reasonable time to review given all that. Don’t get me wrong today was woeful but it’s only one game and we can only improve after that.
  5. No team has every been relegated at Christmas. Review it then and if needed we make the change and give the new manager a January window. He has brought about 10 new players in they need time to gel and understand the managers philosophy
  6. Stubbs has to be given time. Christmas then review. I have to admit though there are worrying signs. Everyone of the signings IMO would not have got in our team last season and we look a poorer team. With the window still open let’s hope he pulls a few quality signings out the bag. Then give him time to gel the squad and see where we are at Christmas. I remember Stubbs at Hibs playing excellent football but it looks like he is trying to go direct with us which is not pretty. We are struggling for goals and leaking at the other end which is also worrying. IMO too early to contemplating sacking him.
  7. Can you imagine the meltdown on here if we got beat tomorrow?
  8. We talk about signing young player such as McGinn, McLean, Mallan & Morgan for example. Develop them then sell them on and insert a sell on value for when they move on again. Great philosophy as we are always going to be a selling club and give us revenue. What I don’t want us to do is bring in 6+ loanees halt the our own young players coming through or signing people on two year contracts they we may be able to sell on after a season. I don’t mind the signings of Cooke, King & Heaton because if they perform well we can generate funds from them
  9. Get him signed for Saturday. Would be a great signing IMO
  10. IMO our squad is weaker than last season therefore I don’t believe we will finish in the top 6. I will snap the hand off anyone giving us 10th. My opinion might change depending on who we sign between now and the window closing but not based on what we have currently.
  11. I would be delighted if we finished in the top 6 of course but we are not going to with 10 loanees. Cammy Smith’s career when we signed him was nose diving. Not getting near the Aberdeen team nor the Dundee Utd team he was on loan for previously. It was also a different league. Of course he has been a massive success. The only other two off the top of my head were successful and stayed with us the following season was McGowan and Newton but we only ever had 2 or 3 to replace every season not 6+.
  12. I agree we should use the loan market but unlike Celtic and Rangers who can sign them. If we have a successful loan player he will go to a bigger club or challenge with his parent side the following season. If this happens with our 6 loan players which I doubt but if it does most of them won’t want to return meaning we have a massive hole in our playing squad along with contract expires. Surely 2 or 3 maximum is sensible?
  13. This boy have not been given a good run out to judge him so quickly is silly. Fully expect him to get his chance over the coming season then get judged.
  14. Thanks for the info but Rangers never had more than 4 loan signings at any one time. They signed Declan John permanently. Namane got punted after 5 months. Celtic has options to purchase 2 of them at the end of the season and I could make cases for the Aberdeen players with McLean etc. We have took 6 signings all at the one time to play in the 1st team. That’s not to say we are finished there.
  15. Name them? According to this report roughly the same time. Aberdeen 3, Celtic 2 & Rangers 3. The clubs mentioned took on a couple of loan signings in January but only after they released or signed up them permanently. Scottish Premier League In & Out https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/40605440 Nobody is saying we are too good for them but asking is six in one transfer window too much? Of course we have had great success in the loan market but we have never brought six in one window.
  16. I think most people understand 2 or possibly 3 loan players in which nearly every club has in the Premiership but 6 and possibly more is a little extreme
  17. Looking at our squad we have 24 first team players 17 permanently signed 6 on loan If Eckersley, MacKenzie and McShane leave we have 14 permanently signed players. If these loan players contribute to us staying up then fantastic.
  18. We are now up to 6 loan signings. Good / Bad thing or does it not matter?
  19. 2 at least. This is our 7th loan signing. Many signed 1st team players do we have?
  20. Stubbs has ruled us out of signing Miller. The DSS are not willing to loan him out
  21. I’ve seen quite a bit of this lad over the years. Very similar full back to Gary Irvine. Can cover both left and right back. We needed cover so that’s that sorted. Another loan why not sign him?
  22. Two centre back would help. Let’s try this again GK Gallacher RB Van Zanten LB Dummett CB Haining CB Cuthbert LCM McGinn DCM Goodwin RCM Dorman AMR Smith AML Morgan ST Thompson
  23. 4-3-3 GK Gallacher RB Van Zanten LB Dummett LCM McGinn DCM Goodwin RCM Dorman AMR Smith AML Morgan ST Thompson Sammy just misses out
  24. Great that we have signed up a promising young player. Look forward to seeing him over the next 3 years.
