  1. I dunno... That would depend on what didn't work. For example, if a funder pulled out then timescales or payment schedule to consortium or funding sources etc may need to be altered. I was really just trying to convey that, even if the current plan comes up against some problems, there are alternatives that could be looked at. The point being, I believe the deal will almost certainly go through, even if the finer detail needs to be altered a smidgen here and there to get it over the line.
  2. I can have a go at answering some of these... No. They had a planned three week trial. The decision is now to be made over the summer by their leadership team and congregation. My understanding is that it is just a formality though as it was a very successful trial. Someone else can maybe shed some light on these, but none of these points are in line with what I have heard. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm also not sure what the purpose in this question is. The whole point is that it is a community buy out, not an individual one. If he had put that figure in, you'd be moaning that he has a controlling interest and would want something back. Make a decision on what you think and stick to it. It depends what you mean by "deadline". My understanding is that the CIC guys themselves put some dates on when they hoped the process would complete. Due to funders requiring viability reports, due diligence etc and due to other factors like Scottish Government elections, the process has dragged on longer than anticipated. Truthfully though, the actual "deadline" is much further away that you would think. 99.5% likely that it will on the current plan. 99.99% that it will if using a tweaked plan. Hope this helps
  3. Absolutely! The email that went out last night keeping the pledgers up-to-date encouraged anyone who is a pledger to come and speak to RA or any of the CIC folks during the evening, as a lot of them would be at the dinner. I was sitting near Richard (on the same table in fact) and, as far as I saw, no-one came to him with a question or a gripe or a criticism or a suggestion. The truth of the matter is that some people find it much easier to moan to their mates and type rubbish on an internet forum than actually raise constructive questions to the people who matter. Which is indicative of a motive to sully the name of the CIC and spread negative guff about the plans, rather than look to see it improve and be successful. The ridiculous notion that the scaremongers somehow have the best interests of the club at heart has been show up for what it is by their silence when and where their voices really matter - a ridiculous notion.
  4. : Tremendous stuff!!! Thanks man. Figured it would be along those line from SG.
  5. OK cool, so I didn't really miss anything...
  6. A friend was saying that there was a brilliant interview with Richard Atkinson and Stewart Gilmore regarding 10000 hrs and the takeover after the coverage of the Saints vs Fakes match on BBC Alba on Saturday evening... Did anyone see this or know how I can get a hold of it? I can find the coverage on BBC iPlayer but it seems to be unavailable. BBC iPlayer: Making the unmissable unmissable
  7. It's totally unbelievable isn't it! Because he didn't hear what he wanted to hear, he buggered off to cry into his corn flakes... He got two very constructive responses from the mods, and a couple from regular posters but that wasn't enough. Best not to have this type on here tbh, just seeking attention and people to side with him.
  8. As a reply to a comment, that makes no sense.
  9. I have a funny feeling 10khrs already knows this. Giving a dummy to a baby shuts them up for a good period of time.
  10. How dare you make such a suggestion, after the infamous "dummy jack and goat's wool" debacle of 2006?!
  11. He'll be fine, I'm praying for his mortal soul. Yours too Bluto. jimdickloyal, on the other hand, is in deep sheeite ETS: note to self, "stop quoting on iPhone"
  12. : I originally replied on my iPhone, which can be hit and miss at the best of times... Knowing your eagle eye and pedantic nature, I rushed downstairs, swiped my Mac from the missus and edited it. Alas, I was not fast enough
  13. I actually thought about something along those lines when I wrote it, but decided to give someone else the joy
  14. Bugger! Although, bad spelling and simple typos surely can't be counted as the same thing...! Hmm... Anyway, they are probably going to revert back to the FPTP system, as it is much simpler to understand and implement. This should mean they are quicker to make decisions in future.
  15. The Paisley and District Muslim Ladies Carpet Bowls and Cross Stitching Society are voting on it tonight. However, given the nature of the Single Transferrable Vote system that they use to settle these matters they have had to add in some other possibilities out with joining the CiC. Word on the street is that they have a choice between, spending the cash on a pink stretched limo to take them for a curry at Bahiya Patel's house in Giffnock, going to Go Ape, getting all the society members an iPhone 5 (when it comes out) on a pay monthly contract from Vodafone with Angry Birds HD pre-installed, or joining the CiC. The members are being asked to list their top 3 preferences and a winner will be announced when one of the options has 50%+1 of the votes cast. Thereafter the next two preferred choices will be picked and if there is any money left in the kitty, it will be spend on those things respectively. It is a complicated process and thus why they have been quite on the matter. I, on the other hand and FWIW, will be joining the CiC ETFix my dodgy spelling.
  16. This too, was a good thread, before folks got hyper-sensitive and took things overly personally. I was enjoying my chats with Bluto...
  17. Have a GD, despite the red one you gave me yesterday
  18. Wonderful! As soon as I get my dots for today, you can have one! MAybe you could reciprocate and get my reputation score back up after the debacle on the "church" thread Oh, I'll see you there for that coffee! Let's hope they sell good stuff!
  19. But I don't hate the OF. I care too little about them to hate them. And I care very little about my friends' and family's support of them. An organization/institution isn't 'a thing'. It is a non-entity. It is some ink on a piece of paper and a few electronic signals on a hard disc on the a computer at Companies House or OSCR, or the likes. It is people who make institutions. And if you are offended by an organization, it is because of the actions of the people who make up that institution. Ink and electronic data cannot rationally be hated and they cannot offend.
