As much as I have disagreed with Somner9 on pretty much every post for the last 2 years, I do agree with him re this thread. The whole thing is a disgrace. I'm seriously considering returning my full season ticket unused to the club as a symbol of protest regarding this.
If this goes ahead, 2 DD mandates will be cancelled and never again will I step foot in St Mirren park.

If there is substance to this latest sham (sadly, I very much suspect that there is), then I find it pretty sickening. What is most sickening is the fact that the clubs and governing bodies are, once again, treating the lifeblood of the game - you and me - as clueless mugs.
We've long been mugs for forking out stupid money to watch a mediocre (at best) product, and for assuming that sporting integrity is a priority in the game that overrides financial imperatives. To be honest, many of us have probably been under no illusions about this latter scenario, but have resigned ourselves to accepting it on the basis that there were sufficient compensatory factors in place.
Today quite possibly marks a change, though, taking the extent of this almighty piss-take to a whole different level. The clubs and authorities appear to believe that we have been duped into thinking that our collective stance and perceived victory in respect of the newco into the SPL scenario has thrown us a big enough bone that we'll either not notice, or tamely accept this latest aberration. That's bloody insulting.
I've pretty much come to the end of the line, now. I'm not even convinced that I genuinely believe I have much left to lose by chucking it altogether.

I never thought this was possible, but it looking more and more likely that this is a definite possibility! Yes, there is a huge latent fan-base and a massive brand attraction but if a football team has no league to play in, no rivals, no players and no official association membership - it isn't a football team - it's a pointless company that own even more pointless property that is heading towards administration and liquidation faster than you can say OVD cup!

Do we? Seriously.Of the clubs in the SFL who have expressed an opinion I haven't seen one which looked favourably on Sevco's bid for League entry so, unless Green does go down the "Harlem Globetrotters" route how can the hope to keep a team, any team, together? The end may be nigh for the blue brigade.

You've got to hand it to Stewart. He certainly knows how to grab defeat from the jaws of victory.
He is making the arrogant mistake of thinking SFL clubs would just die at the chance of selling their souls for a few pounds.
It's almost sweet that he was surprised at two clubs saying no to that and not just any two clubs either - Raith and Falkirk are clubs which are struggling financially.
For them to say no to this takes genuine courage.
IMO there simply isn't anything in it for the SFL clubs.
If SevCo go to the 1st division 20 clubs out of 29 don't get to play them and only a small amount of cash comes their way which they've never had and wouldn't really miss. Seriously, what do SPL chairmen think Albion Rovers would do with 50k? Who the hell could they sign?
If SevCo go to Div 3, then every other team gives up promotion killing their league.
IMO SPL chairmen are making a mistake thinking SFL clubs can be bought.
Neither will they buy the pyramid thing.
I genuinely believe the SFL will tell SevCo to GTF.
Annan talked about Spartans getting their chance and I agree.

Sid....I just wanted to exempt myself from your rant. I don't really care about the outcome for St Mirren although it would be nice if it was positive. My main concern is about the community element of the bid. From reading what is in the public domain the SNP appear to be proposing that Renfewshire Council buy 52% of the shares paying approx £1.2m - £1.5m and they are supposed to get their revenue back from letting out the three tiny pitches in the club car park. Now given that a full sized 3g pitch would cost approx £500k and that Renfrewshire Council could lay three of them for the same cost I fail to see how this offers value for money to the council tax payer.
This is nothing more than a vanity project by a couple of St Mirren supporting councillors who probably know their motion is utterly ridiculous but who are not beyond using the football club for their own ends. Seriously for the SNP councillors - the very same who nearly closed grass roots football completely in Renfrewshire - to submit proposal that the council bid for a senior professional football club....well they should be seen for what they are and simply punted right out of office.

That's the second time you have had a go at me personally for apparently not being fair in the management of the forum.
I have not removed or edited a single post of yours, or indeed even of "Dick Sylexia" who has posted several rounds of foul mouthed personal abuse (and actually in a couple of cased defamatory comments) at me.
It shows a massive lack of respect if you ask me that you can come on to this forum, that I have run now for ten years, and accuse me of not offering a fair platform for any St.Mirren fan to air their views.

Oh FFS Somner - if you are going to take the alternative line all the time you are going to have to realise that the majority will tell you that you are wrong. What you need to do is back up your argument with relevant points. At the moment all you do is throw some shit at 10000hours in the hope that one day some of it will stick, and if anyone challenges you over it you go into the foetal position and sob like a baby about big boys bullying you.

I actually do think that, to a greater or lesser degree, Somner9 adds something to these forums and this "great" debate. Anything and everything is stronger after being put under pressure and having heat turned on it. This is no different, the CiC/fan ownership/the f**king awful SNP idea/whatever ends up happening to end this shambles, will only be better if it's put under scrutiny now. Ok, a lot of Somner9's contributions could be labelled as mischief-making, irrelevant, belated or whatever, but at least he's doing it and taking an interest.
What I don't get from him though is the constant accusations of abuse... If you look at how I, and many others, are treated by the likes of Chic Slexic [sic] and yet just take it, then perhaps you'd see that it isn't just the pro-CiC folks that can use somewhat forceful language.
I agree, it would help the debate if it was more mature and less aimed at taking pop-shots at every turn, but if this is how it's to be, there's no point crying over it.

No I don't think it should. The Direct Debit Mandates are specifically for a membership of 10000hours which doesn't come into being until 10000hours take ownership of the 52% shareholding in the football club. This money is not being used for that purpose. Instead the proposal is that the money being paid directly or indirectly to St Mirren for a period of one year to keep the club solvent whilst the current board retain their posts and the shareholding and whilst 10000hours continues not to exist. That to me requires a separate Direct Debit Mandate.
As regards to the initial question I have voted no to Question 4, I've expressed my concerns on the survey and stated my intentions on the forum. Any attempt by 10000hours to use existing Direct Debits for this purpose will see me immediately cancel both my membership and that of Wishaw Wycombe 98's. As I have said I have no intention of supporting an organisation purporting to have community objectives where those objectives include taking money from community groups and charities and using those funds to prop up an ailing senior professional football club with an annual turnover in excess of £2m. I don't know how anyone could possibly square that with their moral conscience and I would want absolutely no part in it.

Is there something deeper going on here with the Scottish People. ..................Thinking back most decent minded Scots have been appalled at the behaviour, antics, criminal, drunken, quasi political and religiously prejudiced baggage attached to Rangers FC over the years. ........................Sadly while obviously not the majority of their fans were guilty of that behaviour the numbers were such that there appeared no possibility of stamping it out. .............................It was after all the conduct and stated philosophies of the Club that attracted these types from all over Scotland, hanging onto their coat tails wherever they went in order to disperse their poisonous hatred and abusive behaviour. ..............Unfortunately even many of the decent Rangers fans while visiting the designated towns of their victims refused to "walk a mile in the other man's shoes" If they had they would have understood the reaction to Rangers plight from the general population. .............There is not a town visited by this Club that couldn't recount stories of hordes of malevolent, swearing drunken louts, using their weight of numbers to bully and intimidate anyone caught in their path. Their shoplifting, public urinating, verbal abuse of anyone "not in their gang" is something every place they have visited, has fallen victim to. ..............I remember as a boy growing up in Methil, asking my Mum why she wanted Rangers or Celtic to win at Bayview. ..................She told me it was safer for everyone if they did. I never understood at the time but as I grew up I caught on fast................Now it seems to me all these incidents, all these memories, all the bruises, damaged property, and being made to feel a victim in our own town on these Saturday afternoons have flooded back to us. ...............Our frustrations that our Chairmen, Boards of Directors and police forces seemed unable or unwilling to prevent us all being intimidated in our own stadia have resurfaced....................Effectively Rangers grew so powerful in their own country their lust for more power caused them to implode. Their own greed avarice and determination to use any means to transfer their fans intimidation of their counterparts into their team's intimidation on the field, ate away the very fabric of their institution, aided by an already sycophantic and equally corrupt media, unable but more likely unwilling to question the validity or merit of any of it. ............So as I see what we have witnessed over the last few weeks is an administration of a long overdue punishment by the people of Scotland who have suffered decades of humiliation at the hands of this Club. Unrestrained by the law, the media, Government or even the Football Authorities these victims have grasped their opportunity to meat out their own long overdue punishment, as they see it to Rangers. ...............call it vindictive (many Rangers fans do) call it justice (the majority of the people do) or call it fate but look at it this way. ...................................In a domestic situation on your street, is there a single decent Rangers fan out there, given the opportunity to finally get their own back on a vile and bullying neighbour would count themselves a man if they had not taken the same opportunity? ...................Rangers are as much paying the price for their fan's behaviour as they are for their past owners debatably criminal behaviour. Hopefully it is not the idiots who have posted all manner of threats and boasts about when "Rangers" come back who will be leading the way for the fans of the new club but people who realise that this game of football is a SPORT to be watched and enjoyed in the spirit of fair competition and camaraderie with opposition fans. ............A realisation that they represent the reputation of their Club when they visit other fans towns, willing to show friendliness and a desire to leave a good impression wherever they go. .............I don't expect many " Rangers" fans to agree with most of the above but if that is the case then fine, I'm sure the "they don't like us, we don't care" attitude will serve them in the same way some time in the future and if it does, if no lessons have been learned, people like Sandy Jardine are still representing your attitudes, don't complain when it brings you down again in the future, as it most certainly will. ..................................The Scottish Football Fans have realised how standing together and wielding their undoubted power will overcome even the most ingrained and corrupt areas of our game..............and they liked how it felt.

It is becoming fecking tedious now. Dick gets his Internet turned back on after defaulting on a payment but pawning some of his gold chains to cash converters has allowed him to pay his broadband and phone bill and come back on, this means we all need to sit through this brain-hurting pish until he is either banned or can't pay his bill again...
In the mean time, look on the bright side, R*ngers are no more and their zombie newco will not be playing our, and maybe not any, league next season - THAT is good news!!!

Looks like SG and the consortium are pulling out every possible contact to try and get the millions they want for the club.
The club is only worth what people are willing and able to pay for it.
Time to stop all this scaremongering about these scary "foreign investors" and for the selling consortium to decide if they want to sell to the CIC, keep running the club themselves or sell out to these asset strippers they suggest are hovering around the club. I personally don`t believe these asset strippers or foreign buyers are there so time for them to accept half the club isn`t worth 2m quid and sell up for what they have been offered.
And for goodness sake, it is not the government`s job to run football clubs or any private business. One day these guys won`t be in the council and that will be the end of the St Mirren FC. Boot this idea in to touch right now.

Sid you need to add to this the fact that animal was the person who suggested we should all watch for a press news story in the coming days for news of an alternative to the CIC bid, and although I have no idea who animal is, it was Div who suggested that this news might well be a council bid for the club.
I don't think the council or the SNP are looking to work with 10000hours in any way. I think this is a rival bid.
To be totally honest I don't have a problem with a council spending £1.5m for sports facilities that can be used by the general population on a daily basis providing genuine benefits to those living within the community, but if I was a resident in Paisley I would be deeply unhappy at the suggestion that a significant portant of a sports facilities budget could be spent buying shares in an SPL club with pitches that are currently exclusively used by the club.

If you read Brian Lawson's statement, it's pretty clear! They have no interest in funding the CiC. They have been dead against it since the start - actively working to see it fail. It was SNP's intervention that brought down CiC1.
The will categorically not get involved with the CiC, if they progress with this hair-brained idea it will be a rival bid. There will be no fan involvement and the club will be run on political agendas. The nature of the CiC means that it will attracts investment and over time the revenue streams will increase. There will be no option for that under these plans. This is quite probably the worst possible thing that can happen to our club!
And besides, the council are labour led now, not SNP, so I don't even see how they could actually manage this.
