  1. I think this photo is the reason why I found the move less of a negative thing than others. This is how I remember Love Street best, but the PDE update for the SPL meant a big change prior to the move. There were still lots of great memories afterwards but wasn’t ever exactly the same (when it was dry that is).
  2. I know (see the comment before about a particular League Cup Semi Final) just making sure others did too. No need to apologise...I think the perspective thread about what a difference a year makes is stands true for the fans as well as the team mind you...
  3. Don’t think you can fault the travelling Buddies. They out sang the home support and genuinely were excellent from watching on tv. Was more talking about the rest of the team. With limited opportunities he took his goal well, did a fair bit of closing down and held the ball up well at times. I agree with others no need to be too down hearted they are the second best team in the country. Also given where we are in the league championship winners comes miles ahead of being dejected about today’s performance. Back to winning ways next week and the feel good factor will return...
  4. Noise from the crowd on TV reminds me of a particular league cup semi final with the noise from the smaller support. Well done the travelling Buddies!
  5. Need to be quick to tempt the red again before he gets pulled...
  6. On Stelios, you’ve got to trust JR’s man management skills re: substitutions. Arm round shoulder or kick up the back side...the manager knows his players. Just get the first goal this half and build on it.
  7. Attacking down the left this half with balls into the box with sun in face of their keeper is what I’d be encouraging this half. Stelios at fault for two but did have his part in ours. Perhaps not full back material in the top flight but without getting ahead of ourselves he’d be fairly useful as a wing back in the right formation. No doubt about it through two howlers for their 1st and 3rd. McGinn didn’t track with the second. However going forward we’ve been ok. Aberdeen have just been more clinical. That’s the difference in being second in the top league and top of the championship... Get the first this half, tighten up a bit at the back and we could easily build on it and win let alone sneak a draw...concede the first and it could be a cricket score. That said in the grand scheme of things this was the 2nd hardest draw we could have got. It’s a good test. If we can’t do it today chalk it up to experience and get back to winning he league over the next few weeks... All things considered COYS...such a positive season so far let’s not let a tough away cup game get in the way of that.
  8. 3 howlers...don’t think the sun helped Sammy...cut the mistakes and there is still hope yet.
  9. Well done super Stelios winning the ball back, back in the game...more of the same.
  10. Dons look good going down the wings, but poor defending with both goals. Clinical from them but outwith the two goals...
  11. 6 (six) - 1 Falkirk Saintargyll once again much faster than me... 1-0 Saints would do just fine.
  12. Both teams far from playing well. Think we should be happier with 0-0. It’s there for the taking if we start playing this half...
  13. Just like you, I have no idea if Buchanan fouled him, but the Morton player had a handful of his shirt on the way down as opposed to a clear foul for ours.
  14. Agreed. The protests to the referee seemed to focus entirely on it being a free kick rather than a penalty. From where I was it seemed that the Morton player went down holding Buchanan’s shirt...
  15. True. Does the other side have one of McGinn's goal in the same game?
  16. Goal line photo is a cracker - teamwork in a nutshell...the other speaks for itself...
  17. Isn't it great to have a winning team. I wasn't there yesterday but a win from behind against one of the better teams in the league...could this be a special season ahead? For all I disagree with TC at times good to see a balanced post summarising the game. For those who didn't hear it Alex Rae was on Off the Ball yesterday and was asked why JR was successful where he failed. he said his win rate was the same as Jack Ross' at present. Also said he still gets some stick from Saints fans. Blamed high squad turn over, change of board, lack of money, loss of x2 physios and Longwell for the relative lack of success comparatively with JR (after pointing out the win ratio first). I think we have to thank him for survival first time round but it is time to move on and accept that we seem to have a very special management team and squad at present and we should be looking forward and not back...
  18. No we actually have the following: Samson MacKenzie McGinn Sutton as the spine of the team. Add Magennis, Morgan and Smith...Super Stelios and Eckersley with at least one decent salary remaining with the currently unreplaced Loy not to mention all the other additions...no need for feeling downhearted in my opinion...
  19. On this point, is it unique to the west of Scotland, Scotland or further afield that kids just like wearing football tops of any team not necessarily their own? I used to have loads of a whole variety of teams (although in fairness they were all teams from outside Scotland other than Saints). Perhaps in my case it was related the the wee shop in the inshops bit of the Paisley Centre... Back on topic though it seems like a complete no-brainer to get the new kits out early and get the best use out of them in the summer, especially this year when we finished the season so well, there is optimism abound, early signings being made and generally everything is looking relatively good...typical that we seem incapable of getting even the simple things right?
  20. So bought within the last year? Was it Alex Rae that suggested their use from the inference? Don't mean to pry, I was just primarily interested in whether this was something that the quarterly spend could help with i.e. With a decent spec one for Ralston or the ground - something that has already been asked from your reply. Then secondly wondering whether this method was something that could help rebuild and strengthen the relationship between manager and the fans (albeit directly with the 1300+ rather than everyone) i.e. A direct request or suggestion from Jack as to what would help him on a day to day basis (accepting that there would need to be some benefit to the club in a wider sense - use for under 21/19s to aid with training/development for example). I think there are various specs available with pretty high tech stuff including heart rate monitors which would provide a lot of data re: aerobic training for example, but as above perhaps it was a figure of speech welcoming any support provided by the fans...
  21. I was unaware and brought it up due to the comment made from the question asked towards the end of the Sportsound interview with Jack. I thought it may have been a planted question or something that others may have known about. Perhaps it was a throw away comment or thoughts of a free upgrade or potentially for use during games i.e. a separate system for the stadium that was referenced...
