I feel a bit happier going into the semi-final after some draws and defeats rather than more victories.

Even if you were right, there is no evidence at all that the rule breaking caused the spread, therefore there can be no preponderance. The only honest answer to the question of whether it did is "Nobody knows". There isn't even any way that anyone could logically apply an accurate probability to it.Nicola Sturgeon suggested one reason why numbers were going up in Scotland in October was people taking daytrips and weekends away in Blackpool and I think she conceded that although it looked like there was a link she couldn't prove (beyond reasonable doubt) one person had caught the virus by taking a trip to Blackpool and catching it there.

The same scenario arrived earlier in the season when Celtic and Aberdeen should have met in the league but the Scottish Government banned them from playing due to covid breaches... no forfeits!

Derek McInnes has also spoken out:
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has called for a Covid-19 compliance officer to be appointed to help ensure clubs are meeting safety protocols in Scottish football.
Kilmarnock and St Mirren were both punished last week for their games being postponed due to Covid-19 cases within the playing staff.
Both clubs were informed the postponed matches – two for Saints and one for Killie – would be forfeited as 3-0 defeats and were fined £40,000 each, suspended until June 30.
The punishment came after St Mirren and Kilmarnock admitted they had breached social distancing rules on buses and meals while some Saints players had shared cars to and from training.
McInnes believes forfeits are the last outcome any club in Scotland wants and has called for clubs to be given more support to ensure they are complying with the measures put in place.
He said: “I feel any team that has to forfeit a game is the last scenario we want and it is harsh on Kilmarnock and St Mirren. I don’t know why they have come to that conclusion.
“I understand it’s a fine balancing act for the authorities and clubs need to be accountable, but I think this is a case of them wanting to show a firm hand.
“But I do think we’re learning all the time. We need somebody, some sort of compliance authority to drop in on training grounds without any announcement.”
McInnes has also raised his fears some social distancing measures at clubs do not meet the criteria laid out and believes more assistance is needed from the authorities to ensure clubs are fulfilling their obligations.
He said: “The Dundee United thing is a separate issue. I’m pretty sure they will come to regret the decision to have a team photo and I was surprised when I saw it.
“We’re all under pressure to make sure our players are looked after, but I have to say we have been to a couple of away grounds where we’ve felt we have been crammed in to a space where we have felt we are not socially distanced.
“We have been put more at risk and we can clearly do better, but the clubs have done brilliantly. I have to say that, when you think of the financial commitment we’ve had to make, without any help, to put these measures in place, has been massive.
“Clubs are doing a lot right, but clearly we’re not as right as we need to be.”

I'd be happier about us paying the £40k fine now and having a suspended penalty of points deduction if we breach protocol. Killie would have missed more games had it not been for the timing of the international break and league cup games... they also had to lockdown but only missed 1 league game.
The rules are changing as the season goes on. The Hibs game went ahead because at that point there was no ruling that you had to have at least 1 fit goalie among 13 fit players. A few weeks after forcing us to play Hibs with a keeper who only just signed in time to appear on the team sheet!
Since we were investigated DUFC and Celtic have broken protocol for team photos and the SFA have been pulled up by UEFA over Scotland U21 breaches.

So if you have a big enough squad to get by without 9 players and field a team, your team who are missing 9 players and 3 coaching staff due to an outbreak at the club can take to the field and play their match. There will almost certainly have been some breach of protocol but the game gets played, no investigation, no fine, no forfeits. As was said earlier, the big clubs with big squad won't be forfeiting games if they have outbreaks but the wee clubs with smaller squads are more at risk of losing out.
That said, I'm glad if Livi aren't 3 points and 3 goals to the good!

Ach, maybe I'm missing something but given the first line of the club statement which states the motivation of employing ( or pro bono ) these two gentlemen was based upon the challenge of the Coronavirus, I thought, 'Oh, maybe Nicola has been getting it wrong all along.' So, it's not medical professionals we need in combating the virus at St Mirren Stadium, it's policemen and anti-terrorist lecturers! Watch out virus you could get arrested.

I'm in agreement with Div that it doesn't look great. Last season wasn't completed because of covid, we've had 4 outbreaks and a game cancelled against Celtic (through no fault of our own) and when do we appoint experts (with police backgrounds) to make sure standards and best practice are being followed? March, nah. Pre-season - nah. Start of the season? Nah. End of October after a 4th outbreak and two games in a row where we can't field a team and after the SPFL open a 2nd investigation into whether we have broken protocol.
All the club can argue is that there are more positive cases in the central belt than when all football was cancelled because of the dangers and even Nicola Sturgeon accepts you can't prove beyond all reasonable doubt who you've caught covid from or where you caught it.
These quotes were worrying:
"Everyone associated with the club has a paramount duty to do whatever it takes to make sure we absolutely minimise the risk of any infection.
"That's why we have appointed Brian and Kevin, both of whom have close and longstanding links to the club, to help us tackle this continued very real risk to society and our club."
- it suggests that those already at the club were not able to fulfil the paramount duty of minimising the risk of infection and outside help was needed.

Again, well done, special mention to our centre backs.
Andreu defends like a lassie and is powderpuff in attack - eg his volley in acres of space on the edge of the box which was finished closer to the corner flag than the target.

Vital result and a tidy performance until injuries kicked in and we lost the balance to the team and sat back too much. Hearts looked like they could have played all night and not scored. Hope we can increase our lead over Hearts and Accies over the next 3 games - still don't fancy fielding Andreu, Jakubiak in a relegation dogfight!

I said 40 points should see us clear of the play off spot. Was slightly concerned Jim mentioned we are only 6 points worse off than our points total at the end of last season. Last season Dundee amassed a grand total of 21 points all season - this season's 12th placed team have already surpassed 21 points with 10 games left to play! Plus last season was utterly grim until the January signings found their feet and started getting results. We stayed up after a penalty shoot out in a play off after getting 32 points last season.

Goodwin said after the match that Kyle McAlister picked up another injury in the pre-match warm up - as a result of taking a shot at goal. Apparently Goodwin spoke toKyle during the first half saying he was planning to bring him on in the second half and Kyle said he didn't want to come on as a sub with an injury in case he had to be replaced before the game was finished.

Andreu WAS a very good player before he got a serious knee injury a few seasons ago - Hamilton passed on the chance to resign him in the summer.

A number of managers have taken more than this time to get their squad and playing tactics right. Jim is still learning and will make mistakes. Very few of the people criticising Goodwin's team selection, tactics and substitutions want him 'sacked'. We've lost two 1st team starting XI players in Flynn and Magennis - I think people would like to see Jim using a few more players he inherited over the final few months rather than always sticking with his own signings when a few of them don't seem to be an improvement on what we had already.
When McGinn is fit will he be sitting on the bench next to Mullen, Cooke (if he's lucky), McAlister and will Jim still be turning to McGrath, Andreu, Morias every week?

With 10 games left to play we probably need to hit 40 points to stay up without the play off and 2 of our games are against Celtic and Rangers International. Jim needs to get some wins - a couple back to back would do wonders for us. We've not won many key head to heads and haven't really put a winning run together. 1 win = 3 draws in terms of points totals Jim! Realistically we have 8 games to amass another 14 points so we have some breathing space. Can anyone see us winning 50% of our key games between now and the end of the season while Jim keeps on turning to the same attacking options every week?
The most likely scenario is we pick up 8-10 points and have to keep watching Hearts and Accies results and see Ross County increase the gap between us and them as they get a few more wins to make them safe.

I think if Danny Mullen was fit and playing for most of the season he would get 5-10 goals a season, likewise Cody Cooke - not a great return for a striker but not a million miles away from what you can expect at many other bottom 6 clubs. Obika has shown he can probably get 10-15 goals in a season but I'm not sure Morias would get as many goals as Cooke and Mullen and yet he is preferred to them week in and week out - I don't think you can make a case that Morias is so creative that he gets so many goals for others that his lack of goals is negated by his assists. And then there is Andreu - missed both penalties he has taken this season and a few sitters and obviously low on confidence or fitness and yet Jim consistently turns to him as our first sub on to change the game in our favour... fair enough if we are low on attacking options but McAlister seems to be returning to fitness and looked decent against Aberdeen, and we have Mullen, Cooke and Chabbi as other attacking options most weeks.

A great result against Motherwell, a poor performance and result last night takes the shine off it.
Getting 3 points unexpectedly then not beating St Johnstone, who were there for the beating and down to 10 for part of the game is disappointing any way you like to tart it up.
On the upside, I think the last time Hamilton won at Ibrox they were relegated the same season by a handsome margin.

Don't get me wrong CC ain't the man to save our season, but IMO neither are Andreu or Morias. Mullen is there as bench filler - i'd be surprised if we seen him for a grand total of 30 minutes in the remainder of his time at the club.
Opposing managers must be panicking as the 65th minute approaches. Will St Mirren mix things up by bringing on Andreu then Morias... or maybe Morias followed by Andreu. If McAlister wasn't fit to play a 2nd 45 minutes in 4 days he shouldn't be on the bench... Cody Cooke fit and available, Danny Mullen fit and available.

Whatever happened to Cody Cooke? Thought he was back from injury at the start of December and he seems to be available for selection but not making the bench most weeks. I don't see much of a difference between Cooke, Mullen, Morias, Andreu in terms of quality or goal threat.
If we'd won tonight you could imagine that would have been a blow to Hearts after a derby win at Easter Road and Accies beating Rangers at Ibrox would still not have made up any ground on us after big wins.
