  1. Used the bet builder tool on the Bet365 website for this first time to try and get reasonable odds in order to back the buds tomorrow. Away win, St Mirren scoring over 1.5 goals in the process while leading at half time and full time at 10/11 - seems perfectly plausible. Got some dough on straight HT/FT earlier this week at 8/11 too.
  2. Just checked the attendance of Brechin's home game with Dundee Utd earlier in the season - 2627. Assuming about 400 were home fans then it's sounds as though Dundee Utd were allocated/filled a similar number of away places as us.
  3. After the final whistle while we wait on them to leave before the trophy presentation I hope we'll serenade them with a chorus of "We'll meet again don't know where don't know when but I know we'll meet again some sunny day. Keep smiling through..." etc
  4. We've scored 4 goals in a league game only once this season but then conceded 2 to ICT that day so it didn't really feel like a big win. It seems strange having pretty much romped the league (thus far) losing only 5 games that we've conceded 4 in a game more often than we've scored four. Would be nice to spank Dumbarton something like 5-0 or 5-1 if they're a bit heavy legged on Tuesday night after their exertions today. Go at them with gusto from the start and we might be able to knock the stuffing out them early on and notch a few. Given they need to try to catch ICT then they might just leave themselves open at the back when searching for goal(s).
  5. Dundee Utd at Tannadice is a Champions League night so that one won't be on the telly.
  6. Yep, but I doubt BT Sport would go head-to-head with either of those games. Saturday teatime is their English Premiership game while Sunday is usually saturated by Sky with English games. They may well go for Friday 13th, I thought perhaps you'd forgotten about the cup games on the Saturday and Sunday.
  7. Might be an idea for the bus convenors to get together and try to negotiate a collective discount with a new firm for next season.
  8. Scottish cup semi finals on 14th/15th April - Motherwell/Aberdeen on Saturday lunchtime, vermin on the Sunday afternoon at 14:30 i think, both televised.
  9. Anytime goalscorer bets on. Bank of Gary Mac @ 11/1 El Capitano @ 12/1 Bairdy @ 18/1 Would be nice if all three obliged
  10. Livingston vs Dundee Utd is a game both need to win if they harbour hopes of catching us, surely it would be a significant blow especially to the arabs if they failed to do so. 0-0 with 3 sent off from both teams would do me, failing that a home win to soften up Utd before our trip to Tannadice.
  11. On the subject of crowds last Saturday at Perth for St Johnstone vs Partick Thistle were 2848 while at Hamilton a capacity testing 1776 watched Accies vs Dundee. Think I'll have a wee bet on Kyle Magennis 1st scorer e/w at 14/1 tomorrow, could be in with a decent chance especially if he's going to keep taking free kicks and he's due a goal too.
  12. I think, maybe expect, Dundee Utd are going to have a real struggle to finish in the top 4. Their most recent league results: 29/12 - Lost 2-0 away to us 02/01 - Won 4-1 home to Brechin 06/01 - Lost 6-1 away to Falkirk 13/01 - Drew 0-0 away to Dunfermline 27/01 - Lost 3-0 home to Morton Keep up that level of consistency and they'll be lucky to finish in the top half; they've already played Brechin 3 times while everyone down to and including Falkirk will think they can make the top 4. Their next fixtures are away to Inverness, Aberdeen (cup) and Livingston (tv game) followed by QoS at home then the champions elect at home. It's not inconceivable they could lose all of them or certainly not win any of them. Might need to turn our attention to Livingston soon as the closest pursuer. As an aside their attendance at home to Dumbarton on Saturday was 732.
  13. £50k per week is being widely quoted on Radio Scotland during discussion of his loan move to Hearts. The contract was signed when Norwich were in the top league and he's apparently Norwich's top earner at the moment thus why they're happy to show him the door. Kenny McLean probably looks at James Maddison who was at Aberdeen on loan and sees the impact he's made at Norwich while thinking yep, I'm better than him I'll have some of that thank you very much.
  14. Looks a wee bit like David Barron, hope he get steamed into as many of the opposition as Div did.
  15. Not good enough for Dundee Utd though as they prefer deadbeats like Billy King and Paul McMullen. It's no coincidence we were rotten at home against Dumbarton at the start of December when Cammy Smith was unavailable.
  16. You'd take a draw? Really? Away to Dumbarton? Three points are a must as far as I'm concerned to help tighten the noose around Dundee Utd's neck.
  17. Eric's beaten me to it. Is this a move in the last couple of days?
  18. Lewis Morgan has been first scorer in our last 2 games and seems to be on a roll having had a dry spell after a prolific burst at the start of the season. Available at 9/1 with Bet365 for 1st goal tomorrow. Might be worth following a couple of the teams in the FA Cup where the manager needs a win e.g. Stoke and Watford. Hughes and Silva are both under pressure and could pick stronger teams than some of the others such as Bournemouth, Newcastle and West Ham. Watford's opponents Bristol City have the first leg of the League Cup semi cup next week against Man City so could rest players at Vicarage Road.
  19. Don't agree Stu. More often than not the ball was hoofed from one end to the other to avoid trying to run with it or pass it and it sticking on the pitch. As for the height it continually bounces, well, it increases the chances of "studs up" challenges and resultant injuries. Makes it harder for the officials too given the number of high challenges. The game held the attention due to the scoreline and what's at stake but if that's what was being offered every other week I'd be saying no thanks. Kilmarnock have the right idea in going back to grass.
  20. Well we scudded them 3-0 the last time at home without too much bother...
  21. Delighted with the result today especially after the dodgy start. Has anyone ever seen a good game on an artificial pitch? Goodness only knows how anyone can watch their team every home game on a pitch like that.
  22. Given the amount of cash the ugly sisters rake in from season tickets/match day ticket sales those 2 should have been excluded from any SFA funding as they've more than enough money coming in to fund their own youth system (whether they choose to would be up to them). Surely awarding funding based on results i.e. youths that have been developed into first team players would make more sense?
