  1. What size of support we got there? Hopefully a good trip
  2. Hopefully we've got what we deserve for him and the board haven't just accepted peanuts like we did for Kenny. Hopefully 150k or so and a chunk should be given to IM to sort the squad ASAP
  3. Rather have Goody at CB with either Kelly or Baird, it's experience that would help the young guys at the back
  4. Would be a bit of a coup to get Shankland and then 2 experienced players as we are still pretty youthful looking as a squad. A CB is a must along with a striker
  5. Is McFadden still without a club, surely he'd have been worth a look and would probably take a wage cut to get playing. Rather we looked at guys that we have some idea on their capabilities. There's just something happening that is starting to resemble last pre season, hopefully it doesn't turn out the same way. I did think we'd be better prepared at this stage
  6. Could do with another couple experienced players in this week, I know The manager wants 5 more players and I'm glad he's taking his time rather than risking the little money we have but ideally we'd have the squad roughly complete by the end of this week, that would at least give another 2 weeks to work with the whole squad before the league begins
  7. Would take Webster in a heartbeat for this level
  8. Good run out then and hopefully a few positive performances. Be interesting to hear the views of the brave buddies who traveled up there
  9. He got harshly sent off at Celtic park
  10. At least we looked at him first to asses him rather than getting our fingers burned again. If fit he would have been decent player to add
  11. Just offering opinion on McGinn after we moved off topic a few pages back
  12. I would like John to stay and give us one more season, last year he wasn't as good as we know he is and I'd rather he left us on a high note. He gave us one if the best midfield performances in a saints top in many years in the cup semi against Celtic and I'd rather that's why he gets remembered. He may be getting some wrong advice but the whole law suit thing is him doing what any if us would do, if you are injured at work you seek compensation. It's your right especially if it is in no way your fault. Whatever happens with him, he will have my best wishes
  13. Welcome to the club PM. Hopefully give the fans something to enjoy watching this season. On McGinn, what happens to him if he doesn't get a contract with us but doesn't find another team. If any team wants him then it will cost them regardless of when he goes to a new team, or is there a time scale to how long we would be due a development fee?
  14. Agree that fitness is again the issue. Not sure why we seem to be interested in so many players who are a bit of a gamble. Gow, Barron and now Saunders. Having one guy who is a risk is fair enough but if and it's a big if, we end up with the 3 of them then it's a lot if the budget
  15. See we have Steven Saunders on trial according to the Record, anyone else heard this? If fit he would be a good addition but also think he'd be playing SPL if he wasn't always injured
  16. Playing these games, championship, league1 and SPL sides are far more beneficial than the shite we played last pre season. Christ Callum Ball looked good pre season so that says it all
  17. A CB a wide player (Carey) and a striker are the first positions we need IMO. Although the first 11 looks reasonable there are still positions that need covered and hopefully Ian sorts these in the next week or so. We were so unorganised last season and we don't want a repeat this season
  18. Carswell could be a very decent player to have, young and loads of experience at the top level in Scotland. Some are moaning about him coming in but he's the sort of player that if Falkirk or Raith got him the same folk would be asking why we never brought him in. Welcome to the fickle world of the Buddies Stu
  19. As much as I'd like to see the Div Barron of a few years back, that just won't happen. I can't see how a player can go from retiring to playing again at a very decent level. Our budget is too tight to risk it on Div
  20. Would love him back at saints. As said above, he's great cover on the left and in midfield if needed. I actually think LB is where he's best, his range of passing was good. I think it was tyncastle in the cup game he played there and was outstanding
  21. Like it, reminds me of the top when LDV sponsored us
  22. 3 games that will sell out, we will get a cut of that so it's great business by the club
  23. Get this sorted first before Murray looks at getting anyone else in. Thommo is someone the young guys can learn from and still has a lot to offer us.
