    Define right-wing?

What was the 1950s Labour Party's perspective on:

    - homosexuality?

    - gay marriage?

    - trans rights?

    -mass-immigration?

    - capital punishment?

    - corporal punishment in schools?

Was the 1950s Labour Party right-wing?

I'm not trying to be abrasive. My point is that either the definition has changed so that what was once considered left-wing is now right-wing, in which case it is a fluid definition and not something that is fixed, or the Labour Party was never left-wing in the first place.

Being left-wing used to be about advocating on behalf after the working classes. It has now seemingly morphed into something entirely different. I would suggest that the current definition is a misnomer.

I think, more to the point is that there is NO labour party as we knew it pre Thatcher. The right wing media has made sure of this. Look at what happened to the only true left wing Labour leader that tried to take the party back to its roots. As soon as Corbyn came close to being electable, and he did, the right wing media lambasted him and brought back the "loonie left" tag to scare the "normal working class". Add to that the nonsense that actually calling Israel out for the atrocities they were committing was suddenly "anti semitic".

Your list is something that crossed party lines in change of attitude so it's a bit disingenuous to use it as a gauge on what is  or is not true Labour policy. The whole of society has moved on from the dark ages.

The only consolation at dropping 2 points is that it was 2 ex Saints players who scored both goals.

However, we could have finished 5 points above Sevco if we had played to our full potential this afternoon against Killie

Yet again - we are still sitting second after 7 games played and we have an easy home game coming up next.

Killie have played the top three teams in the SPFL on that shit pitch and beaten two of them. Only Saints have come away with anything

And that’s that. Extremely poor defending cost us today. Complete lack of composure in the second half allowed Hibs to run rampant.

Disappointing as it’s not been in the playbook this season.

    Just back from the game.

Not just poor defending. We stood off Hibs For most of the game allowing them to grow in confidence. Still we created the best two chances od the first half. We were sat right at the front so it was hard to tell but we couldn't believe Olusanya didn't hit the target and we scored against the run of play. After Hibs scored their second and we eventually made some substitutions we started to press from the front and that's where we get the equalizer. A fantastic strike from young Baccus. But then we reverted to standing off them making them look like Barcefeckin'lona. I thought we were gonna steal the draw for a brief period but it wasn't to be, Best team on the night won and now we will see what sort of mentality our players have. Bounce back v Killie or fold. Show us what you've got lads.

ETA We had no problems parking. Arrived after 5.30, parked on London Road then went into the Herringbone Abbeymill for a couple of soft drinks. It turned out to be a good call as I had no issues getting out of the city after the game.

I did have a really good laugh at the myriad of negative comments in the Jambo's Forum about their team and the performance but what surprises me is just how few positive comments there were re Saints. :whistle

Yes I know it's a forum for their supporters but they seem to have an inbuilt belief, that they as a tribe, are entitled to success whilst anyone else isn't. Strangely the same kind of feeling came out of Dougray Scott's mouth in one of the "Crime" episodes when he bemoaned the failure of Hearts to win the league when they lost to Dundee (and I think we got beaten by a barrowload to the Green Brigade)!

Anyway, back on subject, what surprises me about reading this Forum section is that supporters, who support the likes of Hearts, expect nothing but success and resent others having fleeting glimpses of it. They also don't realise that sometimes through cyclical inabilities of Boards, Managers and signings, everyone gets it wrong at least once in a while and that it is their turn to suffer at the hands of poor decision making and maybe poor man / player management.................. who knows!

All Hearts had to do that day was win their game and, no matter the score at Love Street, they'd have lived their dream. They could go way back to the game where we beat them, 6-2?, if they want to blame us for anything. They won't though, preferring to put the blame on us, (last game of the season). rather than admit they blew it BIG time so FECKEM! Perhaps they should blame Kidd.

Don't they take it from shoulder position so irrespective of where feet are if forward momentum means shoulder is in front then it is offside, however still took too long to get to that, Mandron's was never a foul.

They use any part of the body which you can legitimately play the ball.

Fine - if we aim to perform the way we have done for the past few years - but the truth is the stadium will not be big enough if we continue as we are currently performing.

And I made this point several years ago.

This stadium capacity is only suitable for an under-achieving team.

Sadly, a lot of fans have been conditioned into thinking we are a small town team (in the largest town in Scotland) and that struggling against relegation each season is 'our fit'.

Those people know that our proximity to the two @rsecheeks means we'll always be at a disadvantage. I think it will take a lot to get us to the stage where our stadium doesn't fit our numbers. The best that will happen in the near future is that we limit the number of away fans and, perhaps, fill in the corners.

Gogic was like 3 players today

central defender and sweeper in front of and behind the defence

and he looked like he could have done another 99 minutes at 5 pm

    Just class

I have to admit I was dubious about SR's plans on how to use Gogic but it shows how clever Robinson is as he is an immense presence in defence when we are protecting and, when we turn to attack he moves forward and becomes a linchpin in attack. The most complete player in our squad and irreplaceable.

It’s funny you say that. I’ve been watching Saints since Ricky MacFarlane’s time and my best season (by a mile) was the Sir Tom Hendrie season 99/2000.

The team we are watching is special and dependent upon injuries we could eclipse that season.  A league up, of course, but I mean in terms of fan belief and expectations.

    It could be a classic.

In the Stubbs/Kearney season it took us (apparently, not fact checked ) 28 games to get 14 points!!!!!!!!! I blame Stubbs for that.

I actually think we are more equipped to handle injuries. The addition of Bolton was the final piece of the backup.

£3 40/hour for the metered spaces where the buses park is the best bet, parking is free after 5:30 but beware the LEZ charges if your vehicle is less than cat 5 (usually anything older than 2014)

If you want to eat then with a kid the omni is a good bet but parking IS pricey, probably a tenner for the evening or even £12.50, you can even go to the cinema if the game is shite.

I thought they hadn't introduced the LEZ yet.

The folk who had the Anchor have given up the lease on the pub They are moving to take over the Inn on the Corner (Afton) and hope to be open this weekend 🍺

Was it the Anchor that shut due to neighbours complaining about the noise?

Is that not the main stand to the right?

Of course it is. A senior moment. Not only have I been to see Saints often enough, including the infamous Erhahon moment, but I've also sat in the same stand watching my grandson playing.
