Maybe it's more to do with a lack of trust that the lads can't replicate what they show in training. That's more to do with the manager's lack of belief than the ability of the boys in question. IF he thinks none of our young players will make the grade then something is very wrong with this supposedly elite academy.  These lads will NEVER get real game time while the manager lives in fear of playing them. Even when they do well they are, in the main, dropped back to the bench or even out of the squad. We are a club that needs to be bringing youth through and selling them on.

No wonder. For whatever reason he didn't get a real chance in the team this season

This is probably the worst time to play the green mob.
They win v the rangers and their tails will be up determined to not make the same mistake and let them back in. Lose v "them" and they'll be licking wounds and know can't let things get any worse.
Either way I can't see anything but a thumping. Hope I'm wrong.

Sure was. Answer to both statements.
If it is an excuse I was going through quite a list to acknowledge the passing of another year. Once again. Type in haste, ...........

I'm not sure anyone was more pleasantly surprised than me about that one but also no one more delighted that they got their grandson a ticket or else, in my despondancy, I may have missed being there to witness it. My humble pie still tastes sweet though.

And so 2023 ends. (For Saints, on a happy note too).

Now. I have to laugh at Sevco. They are demanding the audio from the "penalty" incident at Darkhead yesterday. Apparently it doesn't matter that the decision was ultimately correct due to an offside they feel that they should have been awarded the "penalty" anyway. Probably because they ALWAYS get a penalty. Petulance from a club who feel they are privileged.
    FECKEM!!

As you can guess from my pre match ramblings, I didn't see this result coming but, luckily, I did travel to witness it first hand. (Thank you grandson). That first half was as good as we've played in ages. Although I can't think of any real failures I do believe Baccus, Hemming, Gogic and Taylor deserve recognition. Baccus has been slowly returning to the form that got him a call up to his national team. Gogic was more like himself. Both Taylor and Hemming were immense. Hemming was ready and able when the defence lapsed a little. On the way out of Aberdeen we passed a shop called "The Happy House". I doubt there were many Dons' fans in there.

Well, given that the bus leaves at 9:00, it looks like we'll be heading for Pittodrie this morning. Looking at the weather forecast it appears it is the worst scenario. Game might be on. We might make it there. The weather is set to turn bad at 3:00pm so we could have a problem getting back home. Honestly? With the way we have been playing, if I was going on my own, I'd give this a miss and suffer losing the gate money but, as is normal with youth, my grandson is determined and, dare I say,  optimistic about both travel and, more curiously, the result. And I canny even have a drink to cheer my soul.

Now. IF I'm wrong I apologise but I assume, given the fact he's posted immediately after me, fartaway is once again attempting to troll me with some ridiculous comment. I have to admit I was tempted to press "show this post" but decided not to sully myself as I am sure it will be, if memory and quotes serves well, the usual infantile, abusive post from an overbearing fool, full of his imaginary feeling of self importance.

I have my tickets and booked the bus but, such is my pessimism, I'm ALMOST hoping for a postponement in the hope that our new right back is the missing piece of the performance puzzle.

Given Ryan isn't an option for a while we can only hope, all be it he has "Big boots" to fill, Elvis will "Run on" and "Rip it up" down the right. Otherwise we're likely to "Surrender" our top 6 aspirations.

Mandron showed more composure and better touches in his first five minutes than Ayunga did in the whole time he was on the park.
