  1. Media already slabbering all over the idea that it's the first step for the Auld Scum to bugger off tae England. Honestly, the Scottish media are a disgrace. Spend forever bemoaning the poor quality of the game then back any crazy idea that might increase their own expense account. Wee Chic will already be wetting himself at the prospect of Sevco at Swansea five years down the line...
  2. Oh well, kinda enjoy my trips to the Falkirk Stadium. A nice wee pub or two in the town.
  3. Never really looked fully fit. If he can sort that out over the summer then he'll be a good signing.
  4. Exactly. They don't want to admit that the 6-2 result caused just as much damage as the 5-0. Big time Bottlers as was evident by the way they were rolled over by Aberdeen in the Cup Final a week later. Time to remind them about 5-2 victory securing a UEFA Cup place the season before. The Scottish Cup Semi-Final victory of '87. Then that wonderful day in 2013. Any victory over Rangers-lite is a good 'un!
  5. Decent player but sometimes he looks as if he's lacking confidence.
  6. Mixu's face was something to behold when that late winner for Dundee went in. Crestfallen doesn't cover it. Fitba' is cruel.
  7. Robbie Savage was quoted on the telly last night as saying that he wouldn't be surprised if Leicester finished in the bottom half of the EPL next season. He's probably right. Everything fell into place for City at the right time. Players who were prepared to graft. A manager who recognised their strengths and weaknesses and moulded a proper team spirit. A mega-rich owner who kept his ego at home (the irony lost on Cardiff and Hull?) and allowed management to get on with it. Ally that to the Big Five disappearing up their own bank accounts and you had the ingredients for shock. Having said all that, the Leicester players still had add guts and no little skill to the mix and they did that in abundance. They went head to head against technically better teams and picked up more points than they dropped in those games. Quite remarkable. Even as a Chelsea fan it brought a smile to my face.
  8. Incremental steps I'm afraid. At the start of this season, given the state if the team, I believed we would finish 5, 6 or 7th. This proved to be correct and was actually a bonus given the catastrophic first half to the season. Given the major overhaul to the squad that AR and DF will have to carry out over the Summer, automatic promotion is a huge ask. A play-off spot would be success but I feel we'll finish mid-table again...although much comfortably this time. I felt it would take about 5 seasons to rebuild the club and team and I've seen nothing to change my opinion. Mind you, hope the management team prove me wrong!
  9. Ferdinand is, was and is always likely to be a twat.
  10. Utter embarrassment that we've had no effective scouting system in place. No wonder we're in such a mess. TBH, if Rae and Farrell get a better offer elsewhere they'll be off and who could blame them?
  11. Embarrassing in the 2nd half. Two fat unfit strikers had the Saints defence reaching for the pampers. Let the clear out begin.....
  12. Very sad. Yet another member of staff without a shred of common sense. Why on earth is he getting involved with fans taking selfies when he must know it will be posted. Next season the club should just run a supporters bus to the 3 or 4 Old Scum fixtures. Suddenly losing interest in this club once again.....
  13. Too many individuals deliberately misunderstanding the situation. There is no issue with a St Mirren player supporting ANY other football club. However, there's a huge issue with a St Mirren player using social media to imply more interest in what other clubs are up to than what's happening at GHR. It is completely disrespectful to the fans and the club. However, when it comes to the Old Firm we have an extra dimension to take into account and it's a nonsense to deny it. The clubs in question have both exploited and encouraged the sectarianism that has blighted Scotland for generations. For employees of our club, and let's not forget Farrell here, to post the nonsense they did, replete with Union flag is crass and unacceptable. I begin to wonder if they have a brain cell between them. Someone mentioned that holding this position amounts to hypocrisy because we 'enjoy' the nice comments from the likes of McGarvey, McAvennie and Ferguson. Well, not this guy. I cringe every time the media rolls these guys out to talk about their favourite diddy club. Some of us recall their shite biographies pandering to either set of Orcs in a desperate attempt for a few quid.
  14. Sorry, falling into the same trap as last year. AR has a major overhaul job to do on the squad and not all of the changes will be wanted. Shankland and Watson away, Thommo retired and Goody shown the door. Add in the fact that we'll cash in on Mallan in the January window. With not a lot of cash to play with I reckon play-off spot at best.
  15. If any member of our playing staff or management team can't display sufficient professionalism and self-restraint in respect of social media then they can seek employment elsewhere. I have no illusions that every club employee is a Saints fan and I don't where their allegiances may lie. However, I do take offence when they forget who pays their wages and embarrass the support by idiotic postings. (Deleting them afterwards is no defence).
  16. Think AR sorted him out at half-time. Fewer stupid 20/30 yard cross field passes and became much more direct in carrying the ball forward. Mind you, the whole midfield was direct in the 2nd half.
  17. Er, sounds a bit like an expanded version of the old Anglo-Scottish Cup? Pity it wasn't this season. We could've had Sevco v Linfield in a bigot love-in.
  18. Feel sorry for Big Jim. He looked fit and right up for it when he came on. Let down by the cheating of so-called fellow professionals and poor officials. Ridiculous decision given by the Ref when a shocking attempt at a tackle by the Falkirk player on Jim results in him being injured.....and the official gives them the free-kick that leads to the winner. To be honest, I wonder if Jim will call it quits at the end of the season as he'll never get a fair crack of the ship anymore.
  19. Pretty good but somewhat tarnished by the inevitable dig at the SNP beloved by the Grauniad.
  20. Generally speaking I have no gripe with artificial pitches. I can understand the economics behind them for a small community club like Alloa. Regular income. However, there does appear to be a disparity in the quality of these pitches and Alloa's is the poorest I've seen since that Accies pitch of about ten years or so ago. Every time a player made contact with it when playing the ball there was a ridiculous amount of black/grey pellets(?) flying up. Why? Interesting to note that it has done bugger all for Alloa on the park this season. No home wins? Be interesting to hear Jack Ross' take on the pitch.
