I have just heard the sad news, that my Dads team mate, and lifelong friend at St Mirren has passed away.
I don’t have much detail, and don’t want to overstep the mark, incase he has any family members on here, who would rather choose what they want public and what not.

Lovely guy. I recall him taking time out after the team were training at the racecourse to say hello and chat. We called him Chopper.

Both families got centre page of the Saturday programme lol.
Ive still got it.

Def one of my favourites, read the game so well and his autograph was front & centre on my Junior Supporters membership card. Loved Shuggie too, sad news!

Have to agree, a full back, midfielder and winger - consistent and he knew where the goals were.  Easily the best I've seen in the 60 years I've been going to games.  My first hero was Willie Fulton who just made the game look easy.

Hugh was in the team when I started going to games as a child and was in The Alex Wright Champions Team. RIP
