I didn't realise you spoke for everyone. The fact that you are not interested in speculation doesn't mean everyone else is in the minority.

Not a chance.

Targeting players and getting them to sign are two very different things. Better players will be advised to wait for better offers, then sign at the end of the month when they've assessed all their options. This is how it is at a club of our size. We either pay a premium to get them to sign now or we wait. If we pay more to get them early, it will affect our other business.

Wasting your time. Some people want players in NOW! Anyone will do, as long as they're in early. Doesn't matter if we get better players next week, they want any old shit in NOW!

Would rather we had the right players in by 1st February than we rush into deals for the sake of having more players in for two league games in January. If we're still lacking the players we need at the start of next month, I'll panic. Until then I'll keep calm.

Good post. Mackenzie played the whole match against QOS on 23rd December due to Harry not being risked on a 3G pitch, then was benched for two months. Surely if he'd been fit he would have played at least some part of the intervening 7 games? Anyway, I agree that Baird is far better than given credit for, but it will always be the way that some fans need a scapegoat, and that when they've chosen one those same types of fan will refuse to change their stance.

Ricky, keep posting as you do. If people are pissed off they can ignore you, or set your posts to ignore, or even use their powers of resistance to avoid getting into dialogue with you. Speaking honestly, it can be a bit annoying when you start threads for little reason, but you don't do it half as often as others, and you often have interesting things to say among a fair amount of waffle. Most of us are the same.

To be fair I've been to Cornwall twice. Based in Saltash, we just went exporing. Looe, Perranporth, Bude, Fowey - so many gorgeous little towns and beaches. First time we were there when Andy Murray won his first Wimbledon and it was about 30 degrees all week, second time we had half rain and half sunshine - torrential wind and rain when we went to St Michael's Mount. A lovely part of the country. On Cooke, I'm of the opinion that his attitude has clearly been spot on, and that he has shown glimpses of perhaps being better than we first thought. Definitely one to have around the squad and on the bench, and if he forces his way into the team then we all win.

I'm with 59er. Flynn had done well and was unlucky to be the one sacrificed. The fact that he was the one who came off though gives an idea as to the manager's general opinion of him.

The big debate is because it was a mistake, and will lead to Lyons being suspended which will weaken us. Naturally we don't want to be weakened, therefore an appeal would be advisable, although it's probable it won't succeed because we aren't the right club.

For the referee to give a second yellow, and send the player off, he surely has to be absolutely certain. He got it wrong, and it should be rescinded, but it won't be because we're not Rangers or Celtic.
