athens-saint got a reaction from TPAFKATS in Welcome Greg Tansey
Less than two months into his time in Paisley, the osteomyelitis had returned and he was struggling to walk again. Because his condition was pre-existing, St Mirren were under no obligation to pay for the required surgery. They didn’t, leaving Tansey to foot the bill himself.
Since that second operation in May, Tansey did not train with the team. He did not meet Jim Goodwin, who took over as manager in the summer. His time has been spent conducting a pre-season of his own at home in Liverpool, readying himself for his next opportunity.
“St Mirren didn’t need me back and told me to follow what the surgeon told me. I’ve got no ill will towards St Mirren. I understand they need to cut their cloth accordingly; it’s just unfortunate the way it happened. But it made my position untenable.
“There were rumours going round about me fighting with lads in the changing room, which was wrong. You couldn’t ask for a nicer group of lads – they welcomed me from day one.
“After the way it went on I just didn’t feel right carrying on. I would rather not be wasting their time and money as I wasn’t 100 per cent into it. I’m not a mercenary; I don’t want to be sitting about picking up a wage for the next 12 months.”
A severance was finally reached last weekend. The opening Saturday of the season and Tansey was without a club, watching the start of the new campaign from afar.

    Then joined Wacker
With Ilkay Durmus Wacker Innsbruck is the first offensive new signing for the upcoming season. The 24-year-old comes on a free transfer from SV Ried and was in the season of the team in the year of the Sky Go Erste Liga. He receives a two-year contract.
Durmus completed in the past season for the Rieder 35 league games, scored eight times and prepared eleven goals. Previously, played the winger in the youth of Hoffenheim, Stuttgart, Genclerbirligi, Antalyaspor (Turkey), the FAC and Austria Lustenau.
"Ilkay Durmus has made a name for himself with consistently good performances in recent years and, due to his effectiveness, was right in the Sky Go Erste Liga team of the year," says Wacker sporting director Alfred Hörtnagl in a press release
"He is an ambitious player who can quickly find his way in a new environment, he can play in all positions on the left side and he will certainly help us with his flexibility and pace in the Bundesliga."
And Durmus himself on the transfer: "Innsbruck is a great city, the Tivoli is a really nice stadium." Christopher (Note Knett) told me about the team only positive., I look forward to the new challenge, with this team in the Bundesliga and I really want to take my chance. "

    Skullduggery indeed.
If Ross has joined Sunderland then Gordon Scott has put on record that he has done this in a dishonest way.
It would be a disappointing end to Jack`s career at Saints.
Especially after we signed a non-league player yesterday, presumably one that JR endorsed.
    COYS!

Usually a club will make a statement regarding speculation about an employee of the club. Nobody at SMFC did that.  All we know is based on hearsay and rumors and tidbits...If it wasn`t for div and the like we wouldn't`t know anything. And we still have no official word....silence from May 10th to 16th.
Fair enough - just thought there was supposed to be more transparency with fan ownership.
I`m not a fan of refreshing Twitter every 2 minutes and relying on teasers for information!!!
