Goodwin full of sh**e said if players weren't performing he would sub them. Possibly the worst half from a centre forward I have seen and Obika comes out for 2nd half.

Rangers v St Mirren, Wed 22nd Jan 2020
Ronnie replied to faraway saint's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Saints 33/1 for this match Bet365, to put into perspective Bet365 had Stranraer 25/1 for their game against Rangers last night. For anyone willing to back us we are 35/1 best price elsewhere just forgot who was offering that price. -
I really can't see us looking at strikers/wingers/forwards like Lyons when we have 4 strikers already on the books plus Durmus, McAllister,Flynn,Magennis etc who can play the same position Lyons currently plays.

St. Mirren v Celtic, 26th December 2019
Ronnie replied to Eric Arthur Blair's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
I made the mistake of watching Celtic on Sportscene this week, the Speed of Frimpong will be a real test for Waters and I worry as he has struggled a few games this season. -

Is there any family stand season ticket holders willing to let me use their season tickets or meet me at ticket office for 2 adult tickets for West Stand for Thursday. I have 3 season tickets for W7 but looking for a couple extra tickets for family on Thursday but really don't want to have to pay £54 as that is a ridiculous price. -
Away to St Johnstone ... December 21st 2019

Surely we are due to beat Kilmarnock sometime soon. I have watched Kilmarnock defeat us 4 (maybe more in a row) & each occasion especially most recent they have been terrible. Only problem here is Right Now Kilmarnock 1 win in 8 I presume 1 win was v us in October??? If they come calling in 2 weeks time without another victory we will probably bend over & give them another victory like we did v Hibs last season, twice this season and Hearts too. -

Weather was similarly atrocious away to Livingston and Ross County & think that played a small part on our poor first half performances in those games. -
Imagine if Stubbs or Rae were in charge.

I started this thread after the shambles of the league cup because I thought our manager got a far easier ride than the managers mentioned because of who he is. I revisited it due to now being 12 games in and imo nothing has changed even you say we have had glimpses of good performances, sorry but glimpses isn't really going to cut it. Let's deal in Facts - Hibs were terrible first 11 games of the season but got 1 victory against who??? Kilmarnock were terrible against us 2 weeks ago but guess who won??? They proved how bad they are by losing twice and only drawing with 10 men since that victory. Livingston defeated us with 2 bad defensive mistakes but according to Jim on Saturday we haven't lost goals like that this season??? Ross County if you watch closely have scored most of their goals with very early crosses and a certain Ross Stewart heading to back post to meet these crosses, guess how County scored their 2 goals v us??? Hamilton had 10 men v Saints for over 25/30 minutes we couldn't muster a decent chance??? A crap Kilmarnock in same situation scored 2. Hearts no manager, no home win since March, not scored 5 at home in 3+ years score 5 v us including 3 headers/crosses into the box but according to Jim we haven't lost goals like that this season??? He has only started 15 different players in a team that has won 2 from 12. Crazy imo as the favourite/first 11 obviously aren't performing you should try something different. We have lost goals from players completely unmarked at corners against Livingston,Kilmarnock and Hearts then you watch our corners go straight out the park(Magennis white a few times this season) at opposite side of the pitch you just scratch your head and think WHY??? According to the fans like yourself who can't see the gravity of the situation everything is rosy because only 6 points separates the bottom 6 I can guarantee by the time we get our next 6 points at least 3 of these other 5 teams will have gained more than 6 & we will be cut adrift. Goodwin is out his depth and listening to his crappy excuses proves it as he is either stupid/blind or thinks we are as he forgets the defensive mistakes from previous games. -

Like Santaponsasaint pointed out we have only started 4 other players despite losing 8 from 12. I have played and watched enough football over the years that if Goodwin isn't changing a losing team he certainly wouldn't change a winning team not that this present 11 is likely to win many games soon. First change would be to drop Magennis he has been honking all season long. Djorkaeff, Durmus, Breadner & McPherson deserve at least a few games to see what they can do. McPherson and Djorkaeff were only outfield players who got pass marks in league cup shambles. Personally I would play a 3-4-1-2. The obvious 3 centre halves Flynn- Foley-Mcginn-Durmus Andrei Obika & Mullen. Flynn on Right Durmus on left could be rotated depending on opposition for P Mcginn and McPherson. Sticking with the same underperforming 11 every week isn't going to work especially now that every team has played us and only 2 failed to get a point. It's ok Starfishblaster you carry on being happy with the crap on show and if you dare to criticise you can resort to telling critic go support the old firm a pathetic response that was boring the first time it was posted. -

Darren Young was the best choice when we went for Goodwin he still is the best choice now. -

Somebody that isn't tactically inept would be a start. -

4 months later still the same old shi#e. If anyone not previously connected with the club was in charge there would be hundreds of posts calling for his head. His tactics are terrible, his insistence on continually playing the same players is just plain stupid, his excuses are laughable. Jim its time to go. -
Sunderland Speak To Jack Ross

Does that mean you won't be wanting a seat on the Bankhouse bus to his first game in charge??? -
Actually sick of watching Magennis make a complete hash of every almost every set piece he takes.

I already mentioned Levin leaving for Leicester in my original reply. I wasn't being angry you were being cheeky and I got cheeky back. Fair enough let's wait and see. -

Facts??? Like Sunderland should have walked the league??? Is that a Fact??? I said Levein, McInnes & Neilston left Scotland to go to England you corrected me by saying Levein went to Scotland??? Wrong again that was after he failed in England. Don't see many "facts" here. -

Ronnie replied to Isle Of Bute Saint's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Did you read what I wrote? I said I think he is highly regarded up here just an opinion like yours I might be wrong, you might be wrong. After the transformation at St Mirren he was being mentioned it seemed for every job going add to the Brendan Rodgers "St Mirren were best team he has faced" quote and think he will be high up any list when the Edinburgh clubs and Aberdeen change their manager. By the way just so you are sure Levein left Hearts to take over at Leicester pretty sure that's not Scotland. -

Ronnie replied to Isle Of Bute Saint's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
The way I see it Levein, Mcinnes and Neilston all left Scotland as our "best manager" at the time the 3 of them failed miserably but still came back to the biggest jobs outwith the old firm. Think Ross is still regarded highly up here same as the 3 mentioned above. -

Hibs, Hearts and Aberdeen will all most likely have a new manager in next 12 months guaranteed Jack Ross will end up at one of them. Hearts is my guess seeing as he has been there before. -

Who's taking about them winning??? I was talking about their goals. You're the rocket who was happy 2 weeks ago because "we are making chances", are you still as happy now??? -

No not alot in it, the worst team in the league nearly matched our goal tally in only 17 minutes that we have had 720 to achieve. -

Ronnie replied to faraway saint's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Actually very surprised the condemnation of that performance isn't worse. Groundhog day was invented for St Mirren the same players & manager making the same mistakes every week since July. I could write a list 10-20 mistakes we make every single week but we all see them it seems a shame the manager, coaches players don't digest these mistakes and fix them. We are this season's Dundee and no great escape 2 looks very likely, even on our worst days last season we occasionally looked capable of winning games and we even managed to score the odd goal or 2.
