  1. RIP to the wee man. Absolute legend around Paisley and especially St.Mirren park.
  2. A wee shite Jesus christ. I doubt his career would've been much different for him if he stayed with us or not, Killie gave him as much of a change as we would have. Not many young Scottish players do anything other than play well up here, disappear to the lower English leagues then end up back here on loan or keep bouncing around the leagues down there.
  3. If we are to sign a wide midfielder from our division I'd much rather we signed Josh Mullin at Livingston. I rate him far higher than Hippolyte and he has a better end product imo.
  4. Celtic midfielder Eboue Kouassi is wanted by Bundesliga side Werder Bremen and Belgian duo Genk and Standard Liege as the Scottish champions consider a loan deal for the 20-year-old. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42563029
  5. Girls don't like boys, girls like Gavin Reilly.
  6. I'm a huge fan of Lewis but i cannot see how he will get a game for their first XI any time soon unfortunately. He has Sinclair, Forrest, Roberts, McGregor & Hayes in front of him for his position and Christie and Scott Allan (although probably not) returning from loan spells elsewhere who will also be ahead of him. Johnny Hayes was one of the best wingers in our Premiership over the last two or three years and even he cant get a regular game. He's definitely one for the future but at his age and to continue his development he needs to play and play on a regular basis. I know he's due to come back to us on loan til' the end of the season which is great but he needs to be playing regular football beyond that. I'd hate to see him rotting away in a development squad to then turn up at Partick Thistle a few years later as half the player he could've been. We've seen it happen all too often especially with the Old Firm teams.
  7. 3.5 for John & 500k for Lewis doesn't seem too far from realistic fees for both of them.
  8. I can’t think of any position that we urgently need to sign someone to fill but we could do with someone else to play central midfield/holding midfield as we’re a bit light with only McShane & McGinn able to fill the role IMO. Also, if Hilson and/or Todd are likely to be punted, I’d like to see young Flannagan brought back and integrated into the first team. He’s very highly thought of and by all accounts has been excellent during his two loan spells. Hopefully another exciting winger on our books! I'd be sad to see Sutton go as he's been excellent for us over the years in both spells but it's quite clear Jack doesn't fancy him and if he's on a decent wedge the money could be put to better use elsewhere - Like buying fitba's for the first team
  9. You're thinking of Josh Mullin. I'd take him at Saints. Very good on both wings and excellent with the ball at his feet going forward. A local-ish lad that wouldn't cost a fortune.
  10. Other than questioning a domestic treble and undefeated league season and it being a lesser achievement than previous managers who've achieved far far better. What's with the random photograph with a Liverpool statistic attached to it which has nothing to do with the original conversation... You're a lunatic lad. You win
  11. Celtic and Rangers have had 100x the budget of other teams since time began ffs. It hasn't changed from then til now. You mentioned Deila above who despite having a lesser league (no Rangers, no Hearts, no Hibs) did not manage to win the league unbeaten... You can't get any better than a domestic treble and unbeaten league campaign He played the 'Celtic Way' against Anderlecht away from home and managed to win comfortably or does that not fit your agenda? I understand we don't like the old firm as fans of proper teams (theres nae old firm Ranjurz are dead etc etc ) but you can't underestimate Celtics achievement of last season and Rodgers' influence.
  12. *1872. It doesn't escape the fact that he won the treble in his first season and remains unbeaten since his arrival. I can't quite see how the other managers you mentioned have done 'far far better' than that.
  13. Something which Strachan, O'Neill & Lennon couldn't achieve despite being far far better domestically allegedly....
  14. He's unbeaten domestically and won the treble last year mate
  15. I do know what the rules are and how the fee's are compiled for the younger players development. However, you're basing us receiving compo for Gavin due to us turning him into a 25 goal striker (incidentally, he hasn't got near 25) allegedly. Development fees are there to protect clubs that develop younger players in their early stages of football education from being snaffled by the larger teams for hee haw, i can see the sense in that but 24yr old Gavin Reilly's football development and education has been and gone and we're due nothing in return if he signs elsewhere which makes perfect sense to me
  16. What utter nonsense. Yes we should get zero for Gavin Reilly if he signs elsewhere. So, if John Sutton leaves at the end of his contract we should receive a fee from whoever resigns him? That will put the majority of minor teams off signing free agents / out of contract players due to another monetary reason to budget for. It's bad enough they have wages, signing on fees, agent fees and now they have to pay compensation for an aging journeyman striker. What should we have paid Hearts for Gavin in the summer? Should the figure we paid Hearts be a lot less than the one we will receive down to the fact he managed to score more goals for us in a lesser league? How do you gauge the standard of goals he scores? bearing in mind he scored four against Hutchinson Vale and two against Hearts U20's, is the value of compensation worked against the standard of defenders he's faced? He scored goals in the Premiership for Hearts are they worth more? What about Dunfermline? Do they get anything due to him being on loan last season as surely they developed him for us ?
  17. 24 isn't young for a footballer. What age do you reckon the compensation agreement should stop at? I'd understand your argument if we had developed Gavin over a longer period of time however, by the time he is free to talk to other clubs, he wouldn’t have even completed a full season with us. I don’t know how we could possibly claim any compensation over him. Arguably, QOTS are the team that developed Gavin into the goal scorer (and received a nom.fee from Hearts) he is and due to lack of opportunity/confidence it never quite worked at Hearts or Dunfermline. No-one else should be due anything in regard to compensation.
  18. Why would we be due any money for Gavin if he left in January? He’s 24 years old and a fully developed professional with nearly 200 first team appearances. He’s entitled to talk to anyone in January about a move and we can’t grumble about that. If we had the utmost confidence in his ability then we would’ve offered him a longer deal to avoid such an issue. We’ve done no more to develop him than his previous clubs.
  19. James Kirk. Cracking guy but a Hibs fan unfortunately.
  20. Oh Inverness is picturesque. Oh Inverness is picturesque. It's full of streams, rivers and mountains. Oh Inverness is picturesque. New tune for the bad W7 boys on Saturday.
  21. Can't say i managed to enjoy the game at all yesterday due to two extremely loud mouthed woman screaming and swearing for a solid 90mins about anything and everything. They had a young lad with them too which shocked me after hearing what they were shouting. They were an absolute disgrace & i hope it's just a one off game they attended because i really couldn't suffer them for a whole game every second Saturday sitting behind me. My ears are still ringing. Anyway. 2-2. Not the worst point in the world at home against a reasonable Morton side.
  22. Yeah. Ladbrokes Championship 11 Sat 28-Oct-17 St. Mirren v Greenock Morton, Paisley 2021 Stadium 3.00pm Steven McLean, Graeme Stewart, Drew Kirkland. http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/resources/documents/RefereeAppointments/SPFL/11. SPFL Appointments - Saturday 28th - Tuesday 31st October 2017.pdf
