You're too early to comment on Saturday's Match at Easter Road.
Save your post and return to the Matchday Thread in a few days.

the digger reacted to Lord Pityme in Kilmarnock v St Mirren 26/10
Seems Goody is going to have to change his mantra of a fixed backline and let the left/right backs alternatively push up and start stretching the opposition. Even P McGinn is making a lot less of those runs to the bye line that characterised his play last season.
It needs mixing up a bit more. You can see how little there is between most teams on the pitch, but we continually succumb to them.

Poor performance. Collection high balls and hopeful punts to strikers who are just good enough for this league. Mullan probably the best of a bad bunch. We defended well
But what criminal goal to give away. Free header 6 or 7 yards out. Dreadful. This high ball game has to change. We have 6ft striker who can't jump. Kilmarnock were hopeless. So tells how bad we were. Over a thousand fans turned up to watch that. Not enough I'm afraid. Tactics have to change. Bringing Durness with 5 mins to go was pointless. We were chasing the game and Goody waited till 5 mins to go should have been on earlier. Ridiculous.

the digger reacted to antrin in The Old Firm
There is NO Old Firm.
A new clumpany, cheated into existence by the corrupt SFA who have let it be run by a convicted criminal in order to fleece deluded fanatics of their meagre funds, does now occasionally play against the surviving member of what was once the Old Firm.
I don't like to suggest this, Ricky... but this new thread of yours is a load of old bollocks, much like Santa Claus and the tooth fairy. Unkind people may mock you.
In other good news, I believe there will be developments this week wrt the new clumpany.

Not seen anything to suggest Waters and McLoughlin are improvements yet.
What type of an effort to spell McLoughlin was that anyway, Ricky?Hang your head in shame.

YOU asked for an example.
I didn't "dig deep", he sprung to mind!
Why ask for something then act all high and mighty if you get a direct answer to a direct question?

Been avoiding the footbal all day with a view to watching it as live on Alba.
Tuned in four minutes before start time to find them giving out the f**king result on the preceeding show. Good effort.

Danny Mullen must be wondering what it's going to take to get a game in front of Obika and Morais there utter crap.

Playing Danny Mullen as our main striker would be a start. Both Obika & Junior have had pretty easy chances in the last two games that Danny would have put away no problem.

He always did and probably still does love ‘This wonderful football club’
He really connected with the fans, opened the club up & the ‘Open training/fans day’ idea was superb
He connected in a way few managers ever can or have

the digger reacted to Big Yards in Daniel Lennon - St Mirren Legend
Yep best St Mirren manager in the last 30 years. Best football played, best players (Thompson, Teale, Goncalves, Dummett, Carey, McGowan, McLean, McGinn and the list goes on) Best league finish, Cup winners.
At times we were a joy to watch. Always remember the first few games of his 2nd season when all the big names signed. Dunfermline away we played like Brazil and somehow drew. The 2nd game though was just about the best I've ever seen us play. Absolutely steam rollered aberdeen at home playing barca style passing. Ended 1-0 but was going on 5. Hasselbaink was exceptional. Then we all travelled up to tannadice in week 3 and for the first 30-40 mins we were doing exactly the same to them as we did to aberdeen. Big Thommo scored then hasselbaink was clean through to make it 2-0 but instead got sent off for holding off the chasing defender! I remember after that game thinking for the first time in my life I'm going to see us do something special in the premier league.
Craig Paterson on the radio said that day if we kept playing like that we'd finish top 6 no problem, maybe even top 4! We lost momentum after that with nigel suspended for 2 games at a point he was tearing defences apart but there were glimpses throughout that season of how special that team couldve been not least the day we drew at ibrox scoring a magnificent team goal that started with Sampson and ended with Thommo sliding in van zantens cross and all pundits were saying we should've won. But not to worry we stayed up comfortably and the following season wee danny guided us to league cup glory!
Hope he gets a bigger job from the recent publicity. He deserves it.

Danny Lennon is my favourite Saints Manager of all time.
I would like a Stand at the Stadium named after him and maybe a Statue of him also.

Excellent performance. Not one failure in the team. The midfield were superb. And the 2 centre backs won just about everything. Calum Waters had a great debut. Great goal by Durmus. Hey hey it's beautiful Sunday. Coys.

the digger reacted to Kemp in Qarabag make offer for Hladky
1. Stay in the Premier League
2. Run the club prudently financially so there never needs to be a panic sale ala Kenny McLean.
3. Employ a skilled negotiator to tie down the young players on long term contracts with appropriate pay increases and release fees to bigger clubs included.
4. Make it known in the press and across the game that we are in a good financial position thanks to having no debt and the backing of SMISA, and we do not need to sell anyone on the cheap.
5. Make it well known that we see a player like Hladky as worth potentially several places in the league table & a possible further run in the cup. Refuse to sell him for under 7 figures plus a sell on clause.
The whole thing falls apart of course if we run the place like a bowling club and do indeed need to panic sell players. I have no problem with our players going on to bigger and better things and accept you can't always manage to strike a good deal, but its a f**king nonsense to see the likes of McGinn and Mallan playing at Hibs rather than with us.

the digger reacted to Wendy Saintss in Stevie May
He’s produced hee haw cos they’ve played him out wide and not as the main striker, where he played when he made his name.
They’re trying to shift him cos they have Cosgrove as their main striker now.
He’s still young. Played as a main striker, I reckon May would score goals again.
