£92,500 per annum plus £35,000 of free issue kit.JD did have sole rights to sell the strips and the sponsorship of the dome was extra.

All in all a huge amount of money to lose but i have no doubts that a new deal will be high up on the list of priorities of the present board.

I,m sure MAXI HAULAGE would look terrific on our new strips.

    Over to you Richard.

LoL. Problem is having negotiated the above deal, (your numbers are close, but i did better than that!!) i am now on the other side....and certainly would not be doing a deal at £100K+

Yes i am sure a nice bright Red MAXI would look lovely :)

  2. Can we get another kit supply deal for £100k? Almost certainly not.
Can we make £100k from all the things JD get for their money? Don't see why not.
JD don't just get the shirt supply deal for their money. They also get the shirt sponsorship, probably the main sponsorship opportunity the club has, which must be worth a fair amount. They also have a hell of a lot of branding around the stadium and the dome sponsorship (although that's probably a different deal).
You wouldn't get one company to replace the JD cash but there's no reason why the kit couldn't be supplied by one firm, the shirts sponsored by another (different ones on home and away if necessary), yet another replacing the branding in one/all stands and so on.

All major parts are priced separately, though some advertsing was original done just to lift the look of the stadium...such as big banners etc

I believe there is a legally binding agreement in place for Gordon to sell to SMiSA at an agreed price within an agreed timetable but the guys on the SMiSA team will confirm.

What happens after 10 years if SMiSA doesn't have the money, or if SMiSA reaches it's target before 10 years, I've no idea.

I assume if an Oil Rich billionaire wanted to buy the club then the SMiSA members could vote to rip up the agreement and sell out, just as Dundee fans did. They moved from private onwership to fan ownership and then back out to private ownership.

I'd hope we never go back down that route but in these early days it's very clear to see fan ownership is going to very be tricky especially when things ain't going so well on the park.

I would be very difficult for SMISA to sell out due to the way their Asset Lock is worded, which also applies to the cash they currently raise.....

  4. Aye, but is the point not that we (1300 or so of us) are now SMiSA members. Whilst the main motivation for that may have been BuyTheBuds, we are fully signed up members nonetheless - ie: the 'they' is us. All of us.
Anyway, the USH heating thing is a slightly different matter. Personally, I wouldn't lose sleep over it being left as it is (buggered) unless there is potential for it to deteriorate further and cost more in the longer term. We're a diddy club, and if the cap fits.

If nothing else it seems we are gradualy weeding out the fantacists and the dreamers leaving those that are in it for the right reasons to get on with it. Always knew there were a few lurking just waiting for the opportunity to make their big stage entrance (and subsequent swift departure).

There hasn't been an AGM in over 6 months so I presume the minutes would have already been accepted and signed off.
Why the great secret though? I'm not a member as of the next payment due date, but minutes should be readily available to members who ask to see them.

The minutes of one agm get accepted at the next one normally. That is standard practise

  5. Don't agree with that Richard.
Minutes of a public body should be transparant and available in full.

Anything sensitive should be managed by a sub group and summarised at the main meeting.

    Not a Public body.

The only minutes that are in theory public are any taken on poll votes at AGMs.

Other minutes are of board meetings but are mearly for the board to read and approve at next meeting

The members can of course change the rules or the board decide to release more than is statutory in the rules1481393921766.thumb.jpg.1d7cedebc957882c
  6. The website also makes reference to the constitution so I presume one exists. It refers to it when talking about Under 16's not being allowed to vote and also in the news section when it says that the constitution does not allow SMiSA to sell shares.

It is important to read the SMISA constitution particularly as they have now incorporated an "asset lock" into it. Which in my opinion limits the scope of what members can vote on to do with the £2 pm floating fund. In order to move asset locked cash out of an organisation you need to match one of 4 categories of reason for moving the cash. This is certainly the case with CICs and the asset lock reg used here is taken from that comp structure although possibly slighlty tweaked. Will be interesting to see what members and regulations think if a Club e.g a limited company in theory designed to make a profit and with shareholders not involved in SMISA asks for or recieves money not directly for an obvious community type project like the wheelchair platform that is currently controlled by a body with an "asset lock" rule

  7. I'm not sure Richard. I've never seen a share document or any notification that I own a share.
The SMISA website is pretty clear though. One member one vote. Member benefits. All members have an equal say in the running of our club.

Edited to add, actually the only bit on the website that I can see that suggests anyone gets a share is in the member benefit section where if you pay more than £2500 you get 10 shares in St Mirren.
    Capture.PNG

You own a Share in SMISA which owns the shares in thr Club
  8. I don't own shares in SMiSA though Kenny - I am a member of a club. Club committees should keep minutes of their meetings and make them available to their membership. If they don't how the hell is the membership supposed to know which committee members to re-elect and which ones to bin when it comes tot he AGM. If you do a search around the internet for Independent Supporters Associations you will see that often the way they handle it is by publishing the minutes on a password protected part of their website which members can access. Also missing from the SMiSA website is a constitution.

You actually as a member own a single share in SMISA IIRC

  9. Then take a left past the Aaron Mooy bike storeroom, go down the corridor taking care not to trip over the boxes of spare USH parts lying around, exit the corridor past the Atkinson Memorial Laundry Room and in no time at all you'll pop back out onto the street through the exclusive 'get rid of the riff raff' sliding doors.

Hey it aint the "memorial" anything just yet!!
  10. Thinking out aloud here, there is a farmers market in Paisley every (?) weeks, it seems to me that these guys, even if they shared a facilty, if there was one at the ground, tat could be beneficial for all.

Was looked at before and was definitely a possibility. The issue was around ma5ch scheduling in that in the spl you could have a game planned for sat and so car park booked for use on sunday only to find tv does a switch with only a few weeks notice. We took on a Boat Jumble Sale twice a season which was less risky and it earned well for the Club doing nothing but sweating the asset. Tv scheduling not such an issue now !!

  11. With complete ignorance and without prying is this something that the £2 fund could easily facilitate or are you talking about investment on another level?

I think it could make a significant contribution to the staffing set up costs but think, for what i had in mind when i did the sums, shareholders would need to invest also for some of the capital spend needed
  12. Thats interesting so thanks for that.

For what it is worth i think the Club should do everything possible to finance the development of a permanet trading facilty at the stadium. I think investment needs made now (even if it is at the expense of football performance...though not relegation) to build a my greater revenue for use later.
  13. With hospitality/ Functions / food outlets at the stadium it would be well worth the club to appoint a catering manager to take control. In house run also chasing more functions an area that is not promoted enough in my opinion there is good money to be made with the facilities at the stadium. In the Northsea most units are run by extearnal catering. The company that employes myself is in house. The company has looked into external catering companies to run our units but no external catering company can compete with our in house catering on price. Gordon Scott should have a look at fugures related to hospitality/ catering im sure he would be surprised at the figures and scope for expansion of profits.

There are some big issues with this. I looked at it in detail in my time and without the board being willing to invest in building a permanent stadium facilty i could not get the numbers to work in the short term. The question is if this board is both willing and able to stand the short term loss of the investment for the long term benefit of a full time meetings and conf facilty.

For other reasons there would also need to be quite a bit of capital spend to make the kitchens able to work for this kind of operation
