That's our opening fixtures. Four winnable games if you ask me.
We have no game on the second week because Celtic are playing a glamour friendly, what a shower of shite. If they want to play glamour friendlies during the season they should forfeit their fixture and we should be awarded a 3-0 victory. Either that or f**k off out the SPL and become the harlem globetrotters of football, fans and football club for hire.

Lex got a reaction from Bearsden buddie in Inverness Ct V St Mirren... 3/8/13
Fixture 1 out of 38. Unbeaten against this lot last season, 5 points from a possible 9. The away game up there last term was one of the best matches i seen all season, a thrilling 2-2 draw, which could have ended 6-6.
Hoping we take a bigger than normal crowd, for the new season novelty factor if nothing else.
ICT 1-2 St Mirren
Attendance 3854

Lex reacted to Drew in Inverness Ct V St Mirren... 3/8/13
This will coincide with the last week of my annual leave from work, so I might well make the trip after having initially written off the option.
We went up there and won in our first match after promotion, and it was a good day out. Hopefully this fixture will pan out in a similar manner.
3-1 Saints.
Thommo, and a Higdon brace.

I'd pay off my debts and, if there is enough left, buy a kebab on the way home.

Lex reacted to pozbaird in New Kit 2013-14 Sneak Peek
Now that the three new kits have been revealed, here's what my three submitted designs looked like, and we can see where changes were made from initial submissions to the finished article. Minimal changes to the away and third designs really - the home one changed a lot, but retained the Paisley pattern.

Why should they get a fee ?
They should pay us for the honour of playing against the famous St Mirren and National Cup Winners.
When did their pishy Team actually win summat substantial.

How long have we moaned that we play Ayr, Dumbarton, Stirling and Morton... repeat. Ad nauseam.. Season after season after season. Then we build a good relationship with an EPL side that not only sees their loanees help us to a trophy, but a friendly match-up is organised, and we're still moaning?
It's the only friendly I'll be going to, and I'm happy paying £15 to see my long-time English favourite club take on St Mirren. Kids? U21s? Guys with the talent of Newton and Dummett? Mixed in with first teamers and up and coming kids? Should be a good evening's entertainment.
If you don't fancy it, don't like the pricing, don't like the U21s element, or don't like the fact that NUFC have 'relationships' with many more clubs than SMFC - fine, don't go. Freedom of choice. Why are St Mirren getting stick for this though? This fixture ups the ante, possibly further cements the loanee possibilities, and knocks seven colours of shite out of Dumbarton away...again, and again, and again.

Lex got a reaction from exiledfan in Steve Simonsen
He did say we were interested. If we aren't interested, the question has to be, why aren't we?
We don't have any goalkeepers and one with significant experience is available on a free transfer. Even if we don't get him, we should at least be interested.

Lex reacted in Halle-Feckin-Lujah Provan Sports Are Back For Good !
This:
"Club Shop News
As many of you may be aware, Provan Sports were responsible for the operation of the Club Shop during the run up and the aftermath of the Cup Final.
We are pleased to announce that we have now agreed a contract for Alan and his team to operate the Club Shop at Greenhill Road on a full time capacity going forward. Whilst JD Sports will continue as our retail partner for replica and training kit, Provan Sports will operate the shop at the ground and will be responsible for all other merchandise.
In stock now there is a great range of Cup Final winners product. Provan Sports are working on new ranges of accessories for the new season at the moment from pin badges and hats and scarves to new clothing ranges.
They are also currently working on our Christmas products and news on those will be included in future emails. Look out for St.Mirren Pyjamas and Onesies, and much, much more.
The Club Shop hours will remain as 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday for the close season period.
Also please note that the shop will be closed all day this Friday 7th June 2013. "
After two years of f**king around with hee-haw to offer fans, and missing out on a no-brainer revenue stream the club see sense!
I expect our commericial director will find a way to f**k up the kitty for the wednesday night 8-a-sides next!

Lex got a reaction from Tam M in Gary Harkins Signs 2 Year Deal
Jeez. I must be putting my point across incorrectly as so many people are missing it, apologies. Here we go, 1 more time.
In the summer of 2011 ( not last pre season but the pre season before ) - aka 2 years ago, or 1 year 10 months for the pedants - the club had a fantastic transfer window. Thompson, Teale, McGowan, Hasselbaink, Tesselaar and Carey all arrived on permanent deals. They were all a success bar one - Carey. A fantastic return without question. Goodwin arrived in January 2011, before all of them.
Since then - since the summer of 2011 - Danny has made 9 permanent signings. They are, in vague order: Haddad, Imrie, Guy, Robertson, P McGinn, Adam, Parkin, Smith and Puri. They are Danny's last 9 signings. Not one of them has managed to establish themselves in the first team. Only 1 of the 9 ( Parkin ) played any part in the LC final by coming on as a sub. Adam was an unused sub and the other 7 failed to even make the bench for one reason or another.
Statistically, that is pretty astounding. You maybe don't expect a Thommo or a Goodwin in every signing, but you at least expect 1 or 2 out of 9 to be able to get a game for goodness sake.
We can't continue to rely on clubs like Newcastle and Rio Ave loaning us players of the standard we were lucky enough to enjoy last season. A club reliant on loan players doesn't strike me as very sustainable.
Therefore, fingers crossed that Dannys permanent signings this summer are far more of a success than his last 9. Harkins is the first of what we hope is many, it will be very interesting to see how he and the other new signings do next season. Danny earning himself a new contract will depend on them.

Lex got a reaction from Soctty in New Kit 2013-14 Sneak Peek
Like the second and third tops far more than i like the home one certainly
Are we actually going to wear the third kit this season though? I know alot of fans felt ripped off after purchasing the blue and red kit last year. We wore it in pre season and when we won the Renfrewshire Cup, but never in a competitive match.

You seem awful wound up auld yin. Relax, it's only a commercial. Away for a wee lie down, i'll teach you about the quote function tomorrow
That post was made with 9 games to go. Dundees death rattle occurred post split, go and dig out quotes from after they won at SMP. I can't be bothered personally.
I never said Robbo wasn't worth a gamble, i said it was a gamble which was unlikely to pay off, and so it proved. Danny made 6 permanent signings last season, they were Adam, Smith, Robbo, Guy, Puri and Parkin. 2 of them never played ( 1 of whom has been since sacked and the other released ) and the other 4 bombed.
Robbo was so bad he was punted out on loan half way through the season. Parkin was rubbish and was rightly released. Guys attitude and dismal performances have been such that he has been told he can leave the club 1 year into a 2 year deal, i suspect he may be the next for the old ' mutual consent ' treatment. Puri got one half of football at Fir Park before being hooked off and he was never seen again.
6 permanent signings, 6 total failures, that's pretty remarkable to be honest. It gets worse though, this pattern goes further back. During the 2011/2012 seasons he made 2 permanent signings, Imrie and Haddad. You guessed it, both failures, Imrie a very expensive one at that. That's 8 failures out of his last 8 permanent signings, utterly astounding. He hasn't made a successful permanent signing since the summer of 2011 when Thommo and Teale et all arrived.
Luckily, Dannys phenomenal success in the loan market and the emergence of John McGinn superbly masked his transfer market short comings last season. When i say superbly i am of course referring to the cup win, the failures of his signings to lend support to our core players was one of the mains reasons for our disastrous SPL campaign.
Gary Harkins is Dannys 9th permanent signing since the ' summer of hope ' in 2011. Let's all hope he performs a damn sight better than the previous 8, he certainly couldn't do much worse to be fair.

According to that article Steve Simonsen is saying we have been in contact with him. Would be a superb signing and is one i tipped last month. Steve has just turned 34, so is pretty much in his goalkeeping prime. He has played over 50 games in the English Premier League for Stoke and Everton and over 100 in the Championship.
We obviously need two keepers due to Adam and Sammy departing so would like to see Steve brought in as number 1 and Letheren or similar being brought in as reserve.

Lex got a reaction from Soctty in St Mirren Strip 13/14
Really don't like it. The yellow piping looks horrible. This seasons strip was a belter though, asking for two good ones in a row is probably too much.
