Any saints fans who would rather have Mehmet back before Higdon should seek medical advice asap.

We are St Mirren and we've just won the Cup and i love you no matter how daft yir thread is.Why anyone would want to rile other Buddies in what is a glorious moment in our Clubs history is beyond me.
Feel the glory glory love Gordon.

Lucky to get out the first 30 only 1 down.
Then we started to play.
This is here, if we want it enough.

I just hope they give everything, i just hope they play their best.
We may lose, we can't control the result. We may be unlucky, maybe it's not meant to be. There's nothing the manager or the players can do if its not meant to be.
What they can do is give 100% and try their hardest. They can do enough to make sure they and we leave Hampden proud to be St Mirren fans regardless of the result.
That's all i expect today.

Bad result for us. Had they still been in the tie they would have rested players for the QF, which is the weekend before the 2nd leg.
As they are now out, the most important game of their season is now the Scottish Cup QF against us.
Oh well, we can still beat them

How great would it be if we could get the legend a new contract before the final? This has to be the clubs priority.
He is fit, he is in the form of his life and he is a great ambassador on and off the park for St Mirren. Let's get him signed up now, it will be a massive boost to everyone at the club.

Lex reacted to stlucifer in St Mirren V Celtic League Cup Semi Final
On January the 27th, it was cold and grey,
Four thousand plus Buddies, watched Saints play.
On the field we had Samson, our goals he was in,
With Van Zanten, McAusland, Carey and Goodwin.
Teale, McGowan, McGinn and Newton,
Not one of them afraid to put the boot in.
Up front were Thomson and Goncalves the new lad,
With a point to prove that they weren’t that bad.
The scene was set, the players stood tall,
Not one seemed afraid, to get on the ball.
Right from the off they battled with heart,
And we were rewarded, with the perfect start.
Teale got the ball and moved it to Connor,
Who made a great pass, Isma taking the honour.
Now we were leading and showing our fight,
Giving the mighty Celtic, a helluva fright.
But just on halftime, a goal for the 'Tic,
Made us feel almost physically sick.
The second half began in the worst possible way,
With the ref pointing to the spot, wrongly, I'd say.
Mulgrew was the taker, Craig stood on his line,
The shot was good, but the save was sublime.
Samson was the hero, he kept the ball out,
And the fans in the south end continued to shout.
Then Saints were handed, a pen. of their own,
McGowan was there, and how to do it was shown.
In went the ball, and the Buddies were ahead,
Black'nWhite fans celebrate, As Saints again led.
It couldn't get better, you would have to believe,
But another twist was given, by our hero Steve.
He's been a Buddies’ fan, since he could recall,
And he had cause to celebrate as he got the ball,
A cross from the right, behind him it dropped,
But with an athletic stretch, he still made the shot.
In it went, now three one was the score,
And Stephen ran over, there was an almighty roar.
Danny rang changes, on came Barron then Mair,
With the time running out, we didn’t care.
Another sub for us, in the shape of Guy,
But it didn’t matter, as we were on a high.
And though Celtic scored, their tally to double,
It was far too late, to cause us some trouble.
The final whistle blew, and we stood to applaud,
Not just the team, but the whole of the squad
Another trip beckons, we’ll head for this ground,
In expectation of winning, the final round!
Edited to get the date bruddy right!
Thanks Budthebaker.

This man, player, supporter has had many accolades but today, as if we needed any further proof, showed he is a true St Mirren great.
These comments are thrown around very easily but what this man brings to St Mirren cannot be measured.
Heard that Owen Coyle said he’s THE best signing he ever made.
Maybe Danny Lennon got lucky with him but one thing we cannot deny, a signing that is certainly one of our best and if anyone deserves a winner’s medal in March, and maybe May, this man does.
If he reads this, a wee invite to hospitality would be appreciated.

Massive credit to Danny, Tommy and the players, easily our best result for a generation. To win we had to have every one of our players motivated and playing to the maximum of their ability, that is a big ask, but we got it yesterday.
Danny took a huge gamble selection wise but it certainly paid off and he can be very proud of the part he played in the victory yesterday.
It's hard to single out individual players for praise, they were all fantastic. However, it's hard to ignore the presence and the performance of Thompson. He secured life long legendary status yesterday, we will be talking about him and his goal for generations. If it were up to me I'd give him the keys to the football club and the freedom of Paisley.
We can go into the final comfortable and confident in our status as under dogs. If we play anywhere near as well as we did yesterday I'm sure there will be silver wear coming back to Paisley.
Can't wait
