I'm not sure I entirely agree Faraway.................I like debate and disagreement as long as it is carried out in a reasonably respectful manner ad I would actually avoid a dull/safe forum.
For the record I don't think in any way StuD was the only person behaving in this manner and there was, in especial, a group of around 4 or 5 who followed him round the forum behaving in exactly the same manner as they criticised him for. There are also plenty of examples of the same kind of rubbish between other posters where threads were hijacked simply for opportunity to launch petty attacks and insults as opposed to discussing/debating whatever the thread was set up for.
Unfortunately debate had become more about point scoring and abusing, at every opportunity, rather than discussing, debating, arguing whichever point was the order of the day.

Kidding apart, I'm well aware that Stuart had an unswerving knack of annoying people.
This became very apparent in the referendum fiasco but, as you say, his trolls were equally as guilty of dragging threads into the gutter.
I had Stuart and his gang on ignore for quite a while as it wasn't something I wanted to read.
That, as far as I can see, is the crux of the matter.
People didn't see ignore as sufficient and wanted more.
Anyway, it's made some people happy, suppose that's a good thing.

Indeed he did only guy on the park who was able to use the wind to their advantage and his crosses caused havoc. Great set up for the second goal too. Odd day midfield wise as individually I thought they were all good, it just didn't click often enough as a unit although it's probably harsh to judge too much on a pitch like that in conditions as they were. Hopefully Morgan's return to form will help take pressure off Stevie and Stephen McGinn. A chance to show what they can do against the Welsh world record holders next week too.
ETA Oh and he scored a goal that was missed direct from a corner too imo

I'm quite interested in the highlighted bit above. Having spent all what money? I would've assumed that the changes we made would be largely cash neutral - one out and one in. How much have we spent and where did it go?
I know about the £8k from SMISA, the money from Naismith and McAllister, and would imagine that we would perhaps have had to pay the odd player (e.g. Calum Gallagher) a wee sweetener to get them off the books, but I don't imagine that would've been much.
I'd also question the assertion that JR "spent all that money on short termism", as it's clearly not his decision on how much the club spends or the terms of the contracts. I would imagine that any decision on the scale of changes made to the playing squad (and any additional financial requirements) would be made through discussions with the BoD and Tony? JR decided that the squad he inherited needed major changes, and I'm not sure that too many fans would argue that. Given our position, it would be daft for us to offer long term deals on Championship wages when we'll need to clear the decks and start again should the worst happen.

If I hadn't explained that Stuart had asked for his account to be blocked then I'd have been slammed for banning his account.
Damned if I do, damned if I don't.
Plenty of posters liked sparring with Stuart in particular, which is why I did not ban him. I moved him out the way so users could decide whether to engage or not.
Stuart for whatever reason, despite all his bravado about how much he was loving the attention, has decided to leave the forum. His choice, not mine.
Shull is a different case entirely. I've no idea what happened to him but the last few days posts were increasingy bizzare and he started openly abusing me. I don't really need to put up with that so I banned him, simple as that. My baw and all that.

    No need for that crap
Rae assembled a clusterf**k of a squad though we gleaned 3 points we were outplayed in every game
In my opinion we would be in the same position as we are now if he was in charge
GLS was very naive though and reading between the lines he was under the impression that Davies would take the job if it came available
Yes Ross was 3rd choice as Hughes was also sounded out
Rae supporters make out he didn't have his strongest team available there's a reason for this
They are always injured, yes we are a better team when they play but they rarely play especially at the same time
It is at this moment in time it looks Ross is a poor choice and needs a strong end of the season to save his job

Honest and frank as always Stevie. As i said to you on Sunday i had my first taste of the St Mirren fans hate machine directed at a family member. Its not nice and very hard to take.People fail to realise that they are only kids and it does affect their confidence and can send them into a shell. They then dont demand the ball as they are afraid of losing it and getting further abuse. My message to Saints fans would be to encourage the kids and let them flourish. We will only get out this mess by sticking together.
My message to young Stephen is to get the head down and work hard till the end of the season and you will earn your promotion.
My message to Stevie Senior is dont let the minority get you down.Hopefully the wee man will be a hero in the coming weeks and months. We need your experience and enthusiasm with the development squad and dont think your hard work has gone unnoticed..See you Saturday Stevie.

However bad we are, I'm not convinced that making the players train in fields strewn with broken glass and dug shite is the answer. Nor is calling them a shower of useless cunts. The uncomfortable reality is that it isn't you or me who can potentially salvage this season. We need these guys to pull together and to believe that there is a cause worth fighting for. Do you genuinely believe that abusing them on here or anywhere else is going to support that?
Yes, we're not good enough, and, yes, we're most likely going down, but while there is still the remotest chance of us staying up, perhaps we should be circling the wagons rather than throwing anyone to the dogs, no?

Wldnt u be frustrated if your kid didn't get the promotion in there work or missed out on an opportunity to do better in life, your right to mention it's upsetting,as for the PDE comment,no he didn't speak to Barnsley or sit with bags packed, because nothing was finalised, yes there was an agreement but that changed at the last minute to stop it,nothing to do with Barnsley going cold,or stephen personal terms, didn't even get that far, that's bullshit,so there's the truth,
i do read what the fans say about my kid and yes it's hard to take at times but that's the life my whole family choose, from my grandfather who played here to now also my grandson,it's true your only as good as your last game, fans can say what they like but when it's a member of ur family that's being abused or slaughtered, regardless the industry it's still hard to take.
contrary to what people think, stephen will come good again, the prospect of playing with better educated members of his team will breed through the team as was showing against Dundee,I do believe we won't go down I do believe with the player new in will gel,I also think the weeman will learn a lot of Stephen McGinn, wether as some say heart or dig or whatever, one thing for sure is he's still learning.
oh and for the people that don't rate the weeman that's fine cos he has been shite more times this season than last but when he's good he's good that side of him you never see but that's your choice.
believe me no one gets on his case more than me,yeah I have the same thoughts long passes to many times, floated corners, shit one twos,I do eat and sleep football believe me.
i know I'm setting myself up for a fall but I tired of some of the shit people write about him, just (yeah) but it's still a team EVERYONE has a part to play, that's why it's a team.

I'm sure McKenzie will be fine. He's developing a habit of being subbed off with an injury but being fine for the next game. I'm starting to think, decent player that he his, his heart's not in it.

Players are only worth what other clubs will pay for them, not what fans think they are worth. McLean was sold to the only club that bid for him as was McGinn. We have some good young players but if they were that good more clubs would be showing interest.

It's a buyers market. Reality is English clubs have the money but are not under pressure to pay big bucks for Scots players anymore. Those that have gone south for big dosh in recent years are the exception rather than the rule. Reality check again for us. Diddy team in diddy league desperate for funds.

We should maybe give the young interviewer a break. He is a student so only learning; is probably not a St Mirren supporter; and travelled to the game at his own expense and is not getting paid for his troubles. I am sure he is learning every time he works and maybe he will learn to love the Buddies.
As an aside I was talking to one of the camera guys at an Away game last season. He lived in Ayr and had travelled to Dumbarton at his own expense to film the game on a Saturday of course taking up his weekend, and was not a Buddie to begin with but by the end of the season was now a supporter. And the more real supporters we have in the media the better
