  1. I hear today that the "room full of nodding heads" numbered less than 25 and included 4 at the top table. Is that correct ?

When you say the "top table" do you mean 10000 Hours people? Mr Atkinson, Chris Stewart and Tony Fitzpatrick were there.

As far as I know the rest were supporters with obviously SMISA members amongst those supporters? If I'm wrong St. Sid will be better placed to sort it.

    E.T.A. He's already posted!

  2. Dost my eyes deceive me?

Is the ever cynical Sid starting to sound like a spin doctor for SMISA or is he after a cnutcillor's job after all?

Dear oh dear. How quickly the whiff of power affects a man's judgment.

More likely a seat on the board. Well one of the many boards

You've all got Sid wrong. He's a very modest chap who doesn't like the limelight and prefers to work behind the scenes and not get lots of attention or accolades.

  3. Not convinced this thread is overly helpful to SMiSA, 10,000hrs or fans in general. The thread was actually commented on by the SMiSA guys at the meeting. The SMiSA guys were right to lay some criticism at REA in terms of communication. They came to the meeting very much in devil's advocate mode. It is definitely the most useful meeting in terms of information exchange.

Felt sorry for the Bud sitting next to me who had told his mrs that he was just popping down to the ground for half an hour to fill out his form.....three hours later.

Also feel sorry for the SMiSA guys as they are under pressure from their members at a time when the process hasn't reached the stage they would like it to be at.

Tyring to stoke a 10,000hrs v SMiSA rift might be good for hits; however I don;t think that is the case at all. You're a very naughty boy div.

I totally agree with this. St. Sid has got it just about right, although I would have said the SMISA guys, while making some good points, sounded at times a bit stronger than "Devil's Advocate". I had sympathy for them but Mr Atkinson did make an apology which I thought was the right thing to do but I am a bit concerned that any form of "situation" had come between SMISA and CIC/Co-Op as at the end of the day they want the same thing - the best for the Club.

I just wish I had taken St. Sid's advice earlier and went along to one of the other meetings to hear the information from the Horse’s mouth as it were but at least I went along tonight and came away with more understanding than you'll ever get from Clowns on here with their conspiracy theories and scaremongering tactics.

  4. It's a fallacy to say you can't knock down a listed building as you can. I had a pm conversation with tedious tom about this very fact. We both agree there are many occasions where if you can prove it is in the best interest of the future of the site then the building can be demolished.

True, just like the Council Buildings. This is Ibrox though, and the "powers that be" will pull all the stops out to make sure that doesn't happen. It's all hypothetical anyway as R*ngers won't be allowed to go bust by anyone.

  5. Just a thought

I keep hearing that Ibrox is worthless except as a football stadium, but did we not sell Love Street to Tesco's for around 10million pounds? Surely Ibrox is worth more than that as a development siteand joking aside at least double, thats 20million which is more than any of the bids to keep it afloat.

Liquidation and Ibrox Tesco a cert. clap.gif

Love Street will now be for housing with Tesco getting their prefered site on Renfrew road. We won a watch with the timing and location of our deal. No one would pay a dime for the big hoose now for any reason but football. Shame really as you could've been first in with the wrecking ball driving through 55,000 protesters!thumbup2.gif

The thing is though, the "front" of the Main Stand at Ibrox, which has "R*NG*RS FC" designed within the brickwork is registered as a Listed Building, so they probably won't be allowed to knock it down and, as a result, this would affect what they could do with the Stadium if R*ngers went down the tubes. Let's face it, the only people who would really want to live in any potential housing built on the land with the "R*NG*RS FC" on the wall would be diehard R*ngers fans themselves. Everyone else wouldn't want to live in a building like that, but there would be enough of "them" that would.
