It was something to do with Dumbarton I think. The game played at Cappielow was originally scheduled for Dumbarton.

Good night for the young Scots. Some cracking goals in a 6-1 win. If you weren't there Give the you tube video a go just for the goals.
Also some bizarre refereeing and a really cynical Montenegran team. If that's them at 17s level when they should be enjoying the game I'd hate to see them in the senior ranks. Play acting stealing at least 10-15 yards every throw. And it was a Scot booked for simulation! Despite being barged of the ball. Soft penalty of given. But certainly not a dive.
Bring on the Serbs. -
Its nothing personal against Sutton. I know he tries his hardest and its not his fault he keeps getting picked, but he is a centre forward who rarely scores any goals. You seem to use a motoring analogy "running on empty" which I presume means exhausted. If so, he isn't fit enough for a start and is very slow, never wins a race against another player etc. I will admit to having never rated this player and groaning when he was signed again this season. If he is one of your favourites, that's your own choice but can I remind you we are bottom of the league and our centre rarely scores. Its not all his fault of course but I believe he shouldn't be in the team. That is my explanation. Score some goals.
A centre forward who rarely scores?
He currently has 12 this season. Well on his way to 15 which he averaged in his previous spell with us.
His strike rate over his 2 spells is a goal every 2.7 games. Pretty good in St Mirren terms!
And a better goals to game ratio than the great seemingly God like Thommo who was a goal every 3.3 games.
And that's not a dig at Thommo. Just putting sutts contribution into perspective. -

God hope my info is correct I'm sure he died unless I'm getting him mixed up with someone else
To be honest I couldn't tell you anything about him after leaving us.

Martin Hick? Wasn't aware that he had died.

Went with a Celtic supporting mate to a charity event that Tommy was heavily involved in a few years ago. Had the pleasure of spending a bit of time with him and he was a great guy. For what he had achieved in the game he was down to earth and spoke a lot about his time at Dundee and general football. It was never all about Lisbon and Celtic. Funny as well. Genuinely nice man. Will be sadly missed.

Still sitting at 69% with 4.5 hours to go. Sitting with three devices here voting as soon as able on all of them. He'll win no problem!

Looking forward to the second leg after both clubs win their respective upcoming cup finals!

Basic facts. We are now 8 + 9 points away from the team's above.
We have two games in hand over both of them. We won both games it becomes 2+3 points behind.
Now this is an Ayr Team that could only win 1-0 against a team without a recognised keeper and a Raith team that could not take anything from a very poor Ayr team t gay we have owned this season despite being shite ourselves!
We are better than both of them and if we continue our revival can overcome both of them.
A win tomorrow night will be great. A point is not a disaster. A loss makes it harder but not impossible. -
Was Ally not an accomplished goal scorer for us. .
Naw! 3 goals in 25 games.
You maybe thinking of Ally McLeod who played in the early 70s? 62 goals in 99 games. Most notable the day he won 4-1 at Ibrox. -
Thanks guys. I thought it was David Laird but wasn't sure. I had also worked out via team listings that the other two are either Henry and Brown or Moore and Straiton.
Not knowing what any of these guys look like I would be guessing. But that's the two options. -

final cant be at an SPL ground. As all teams in lower leagues i`m sure I've read it would be at one of their grounds to ensure all cash stayed in championship club. Year when Sevco played it was at easter road as Hibs were down. Could be Dunfermline or Airdrie and poss easter road
Just as well there is no such thing as the SPL anymore! That was the rule when the SPL and SFL were seperate things, we are now all part of the SPFL so any ground in the country is available.
That is why the 1993 final against Falkirk was at Fir Park, they were all just SFL clubs back then.

Ochilview, with the McCowans toffee factory in the background. Lived along the end of the road from there for a few years a while back. Visited Ochilview several times when I couldn't make the Saints games.

They won the last two cup games we played. The game you mention was 2007 League Cup. They also won 1-0 in the LC at old Bayview in 1997.Did East Fife not wina cup tie at Love St? 1-0, and the goal was a pearler.
Apologies if this has already been mentioned - I've only scanned the last few pages.

Lose to Ayr and we're dead and buried.
Anything less than a comprehensive win and we're doomed.

St Mirren were the last team to win the Scottish Cup with 11 Scottish players, a feat that will probably never be beaten!
The entire squad for every round was Scottish. Definitely not going to be repeated unless post brexit causes a complete ban on foreigners including from the rest of the UK.

I know I might get wooshed here, but is that not Alan Reid?
According to that site it's Simon Lampin! -
Great pic of Simon Lappin:-

Is Haining not in management somewhere down in the lower leagues?

Is the south stand really being given up this time, after the farce of the Spartans game where it was then wasn't, stewards didn't know that it was supposed to be closed and the club wrongly thought that season cards wouldn't work in another stand.
Are they really bringing fans to fill both N & S stands?
The way I read it is that the south stand is not being given up more that north and south stands would be closed! All fans in west and main.
Assume TNS fans will be at the end of the west. -

Possibly because the Falkirk replay was the next night, the only time in my memory we have played 2 first team fixtures in 2 days (outwith friendlies)
Used to be common over the new year period to play back to back games.
In the early part of the 20th century it happened several times when games would be played on the 1st and 2nd.
Most recent time that Saints have done it, is 1971 when they played Killie on Ne'erday and then Morton on the 2nd.

Strange that Crapilow has the problem but they take a game away from Dumbarton. Make more sense just to move the Cappielow game to Paisley than switch both games.
