    Director Elections

True, but the role of the SMISA elected representative is to make sure the fans voices are heard. I might be totally wrong about David's ability to do this, but that's what happens when the current BoD fail to remain impartial.

I know of David Nicol and Kenny Morrison, and have known of them for many years. I am also impressed with David Rilley's statement. Whilst David deserves utmost credit for the work he has done for SMISA, the role HAS to be given to someone who will constantly challenge the BoD on decisions that affect the fans, and pressure them to make the right decisions for the fans and the community. The fact that Tony has endorsed David, and Gordon Scott nominated him as well, does not sit well with me. It would appear that they favour him, and that concerns me. It gives me the impression that they have no worries about David's influence in the boardroom and aren't worried about being challenged. We need someone who isn't afraid to talk out against the BoD, and will challenge decisions the fans disagree with. In my view, whilst David is clearly a knowledgeable and nice person, I don't see him standing up and telling Gordon and Tony to f'k off when they put forward decisions that won't be favourable by the fans.
  4. I was sat in row A, close to where this incident happened. As others have said, Josh done nothing wrong. What I would also point out that every time anyone jumped out of their seat thinking we might have scored, or to shout some encouragement, the police were over right away threating people to sit down or they would be kicked out. The police were looking for an argument that day.
  5. This is what is frustrating me. Our Academy lads are coming into the team, and playing really well, but it's the experienced players who are letting us down every week. I wouldn't be against playing the U20s against Ayr in the cup, just to see as a team what standard they are at.
  6. Nothing shouting out at me tonight. So just these ones for me.
  7. Real & Juve made me sweat. I get married next week, so the secret beer token fund has got off to a nice start.
  8. A mate of mine had the same problem at the beginning of the season. Purchased season ticket, provided offer of acceptance to the course, but his course had not yet started so he did not have a student ID card yet. The card worked fine for a game or two and then he was locked out of a game. I Tweeted Tony Fitzpatrick, his reply was no St Mirren fan would be locked out of the game... I said well he was because despite paying a season ticket, he wasn't allowed in. No response. The boy also contacted Tony as well, no reply. He ended up just asking for his money back.
  9. For the first time this season I've left disappointed about the result, but not about the effort that the players put in. I felt the first half was pretty even with neither side creating anything to write home about, but we looked the more likely to make something happen. United' goal came from Irvine injuring himself and the team weren't quick enough to organise themselves leaving a big gap at the back. I'm glad the whistle at HT came quite soon after that as the heads went down slightly, but credit to Ross who got them back fighting in the second half. The second half I felt went pretty much the same way as the first half, with Dundee United taking advantage of another defensive blunder. We didn't really create any clear cut chances until after United went two nil up. Overall I feel a draw would have been a fair result, but United took advantage of two mistakes we made, and we were unable to take advantage of theirs. In the grand scheme of things I wouldn't have been expecting United to be one of the teams we would be beating at the beginning of the season, it's just as time passes we are more and more desperate for a league win. I did think there was a huge improvement in terms of effort and organisation. Rome wasn't built in a day, but I was impressed with the pressing game we tried to play and as time goes on we'll get better. A few wins will do wonders for the confidence. I think results today killed any small hope of sneaking a play off place, we just need to spend the season focusing on getting as high as possible in the league. The first priority being to get into 8th then start looking at the teams above.
  10. We are shocking. The 4-4-2 doesn't work with the players we have and it cost Rae his job, why McManus has persisted with it I do not know. We started off trying to pass the ball about which I am pleased about but with Dunfermline having 5 in the midfield we have no options available. The standard of passing from the players has been disgraceful for so called professional players. There are huge gaps between each area of the team. Every time the ball comes into the box, our defenders are nowhere near the attacker or the bloody ball. Sutton is strolling it, and Morgan done well for the first. How the f'k we are winning this I don't know... Thank god Dunfermline's defence is as bad as ours. Hopefully go for five in the midfield in the second half, tighten up the midfield.
  11. I was shouting at the TV at Goodwin for the first goal. Typical Goodwin strolls through the game, then makes that one costly mistake.
  12. I'm 27... A season ticket holder. I've attended 1.5 games this season. The worse thing about it is that I've travelled everywhere this season. Today I went to The Rock Bowling Club. There was 10 of us from the supporters bus that spent the whole afternoon there. (I sneaked in for injury time). My old man spent years convincing me to go to the games, and eventually I went, and I was hooked. Begged him to take me to the away days at Arbroath, Dingwall... Watching Coughlin.... Now, I only go because I work full time, run a business on the side with my wife to be next month and a Saturday is the only day I get catch up with my friends and enjoy myself. Got called a d*ck from a member of the FC for doing just that today... Are fans losing interest....? Without a doubt. I've got to the stage where I couldn't give two f'ks. Do I love St Mirren yes, but I find the football boring, much rather watch the scores come in, eye on the coupon and a bit of banter.
  13. He's clearly just demonstrating the Fans Council's aims to improve communication between the club and the supporters.
  14. I thought Gus McPherson couldn't take us to the next stage, especially after the final that we don't talk about. I thought Danny Lennon couldn't take us to the next stage. After Tommy Craig, Gary Teale, Ian Murray and now Alex Rae... I'd f'king love a manager like Gus or Danny. We f'ked it.

  16. I was meant to be doing Hospitality that day as part of my Stag Do but I'll reckon that'll need to be cancelled now as other things booked for that evening in Glasgow.
  17. Yes I agree if we look like we're in a battle at the bottom then we'll have no option but to boot him. Hope it doesn't come to that as I'm a bit sick of constantly changing gaffers.
  18. Pretty much sums up my feelings.
  19. I sat in the pub today, seen the line up, and having been to Raith, watched us get over run by Morton, I decided to walk round to the Anchor and watch it on TV. Left at half time to do a wee pub crawl via some molestation of lions. I'll never be a fan of Rae's football style or tactics, but to call for his head is laughable. His contract is up at the end of the season. He has one job. Get us into the top 4. If he fails to do it, he'll lose his job. I'll give him the season.
  20. Today's bets. Had Man U 2-0 and Dundee 2-1 last night but sadly Dundee are shite.
