Tam M got a reaction from eastlandssaint in More redundancies. Where are you SMISA?
My concern is what have we spunked 1.7m on?
It would be good to understand what the shortfalls were in terms of income due to Covid, and what else has it been spent on and the expected ROI?

I think John that we have fans who are rightly concerned that we have overspent. We have attracted players with international experience who do not come cheap and as such blew our budget out the water.Add the spiralling costs at Ralston, and yes its fair to say we are not in the best financial situation at the moment. Its how the board are reacting to this that will define us going forward.Income must be more than expenditure to overcome any deficit we are accruing.
We should not think that all the supporters questioning the finances want us to fail or are mischievous but are indeed just concerned fans.St Mirren football club, next to family is the most important part of most of our lifes and i do not know of anyone who would want us to fail.

Tam M got a reaction from StanleySaint in Landlords
We recently sponsored a Ukrainian family and guests have settled in well, both are working, Tanya as an accountant, Serhii as a Car Mechanic. Their son Yehor is also starting nursery in Renfrew.
They are keen now to find their own space (with 9 people and a dog in this house, it's understandable [emoji23]).
The problem they are experiencing is via Housing Associations they are classed as Low Priority. For private rents agents are advising them that they can't help because they have no UK credit history. So they are a bit stuck at the minute.
Does anyone know of anyone (ideally in the Renfrew area with Yehor starting nursery), who has a flat available they could rent privately from them?
Hoping the power of SMFC does its magic.

Tam M reacted to faraway saint in 4 Day Week
I've been keeping a record of my holidays this years in hours as, currently, we have three different length of days, 8.5 hours, 8 hours and 4.5 hours.
Moving from a 5 day week to 4, maintaining the same amount of hours, won't change the hourly entitlement so the same format can continue, it'll just be more hours for each day, 9.5 hours and one day at 9 hours., while needing less days for a weeks holiday.
It really isn't rocket science, despite our management team trying to make it more difficult than need be.

Tam M got a reaction from faraway saint in 4 Day Week
The way I done it when managing for those on 4 day weeks was just do their holidays in hours as opposed to days. They would have 25 days (175 hours) plus 8 Bank Holidays (56 hours) = 231 Total hours. A condensed working day would generally be 8.75hrs.
If a public holiday fell on a non working day, then they would have the holiday entitlement in their annual allowance to take whenever they want, however if it fell on a working day they would get 8.75 hours deducted from their working day.

Tam M got a reaction from Rascal in 4 Day Week
I do a 4 day week which now consists of 2 days in Glasgow in the office and 2 days working at home.
Generally do 8am-5.15pm, but in my role I pretty much manage my own time, so can flex my hours to suit, depending on meetings I have etc.
Depending on various stages of projects I can be really quiet or really busy - there's not really a middle ground, so the quiet times I'll probably work less hours, but more when it's really busy. As long as the job gets done, everyone's happy.
The con is Monday is Daddy daycare, and I have to deal with 4 kids for 12 hours, two under the age of two...

Tam M reacted to Hendo in Painter
We needed two bedrooms painted at short notice, phoned a guy Alex Guthrie (Renfrew Decorator) that we got via the checkatrade site, phoned him on the Monday and as he had a cancellation did the job later that week. Did a very good job as well. If you google Renfrew Decorator it comes up with the phone number.

Tam M got a reaction from ALBIONSAINT in Coronavirus
I’ve just finished self isolating after testing positive. Was ill for about 10 days, just felt like a really bad flu. Took the test on the off chance due to how long it was lasting. I suspect I got it via the weans most likely as there were positive cases at their school, and had hardly been out the two weeks prior to symptoms.
I was really disappointed with T&T, I got my results back on the Wednesday and it took until the Saturday for them to contact me for close contacts. They didn’t contact close contacts for another 2-3 days after, of which one of them finished their self isolation period on the same day!
