    Hello
Not related to our current world-beating form, but to similar form, almost 40 years ago.
I finally dug out this old badge, bought in the Saints shop in the Piazza in about 1979. Memories!

Joma it is, and it's bespoke design, sold by the club, and available from the shop at the stadium.
    Oh my days.

Here's my piece and I hope just like my young nephew other youngsters were inspired by Saturdays atmosphere.
My nephew (12) is brought up by a Rangers supporting father, has an older brother (14yr old blue nose) and the latter has never even considered supporting St Mirren (fair enough). The youngest though has been following Saints since around the age of 7/8 years old as he wanted to be different and because his uncle supported them and seen the passion i carried following my team. He has a season ticket for Saints, though doesn't get to as many games as he would like due to living in Edinburgh. Unfortunately his old man has been taking both him and his brother to Ibrox though and has probably been there more than St Mirren Park this season not through choice. He has became distanced with the club, probably as far back as Ian Murray era.
I took him to the game on Saturday and I have never seen such a transformation in his mood. He was absolutely buzzing prior to kick-off and when we entered the ground to our seats, his jaw nearly hit the ground when he seen the atmosphere and surroundings he had just entered. The flag displays, drum (this has to get the green light for home games) and 90+ minutes of singing had him on cloud 9. After full-time i have never seen him so happy at the end of a defeat. He immediately asked me to take him to the Ayr game if he could get through for it.
My point is, the atmosphere created at the away games for the last couple of months has been outstanding and something i would like to see brought to home games. The drum is a major part of this and if that kind of noise can inspire youngsters to a better match experience, then I think its a no brainer. I thought it would be easier to sway these things with the SMISA takeover.

First Match today that I have experienced The Drum .
When I arrived, my seat was across the Aisle from it and I feared the worst.
I couldn't have been more wrong.
    IT WAS ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT
The Dude in charge of the sticks was fecking brilliant and keeping  those beats going for 2 hours was amazing.
WELL DONE THAT BUDDIE AND CONGRATULATIONS TO THE REST OF THE SINGERS ALSO.
in fact, the 5000 Saints fans were brilliant. 10/10.
THE DRUM MUST BE ALLOWED INTO ST MIRREN PARK
    Sort it Tony Fitzpatrick

Best picture we've seen of it.

Worked ok but some didn't bother waving their flags. We put 650 out!

Seen a load of weans walking out happy with their flags so pleased with how it went overall!

Seriously a few guys might get tanked up. Equally a few guys might enjoy a companionable beer or two without getting tanked up. Suggesting it is all alcoholism is hyperbole.
So far as your final sentence is concerned, that goes without saying. You have demonstrated that many times over several years now.

    Update
    - More than 600 flags have been attached to their sticks.
    - The "design" is being worked on, no hints given but it's looking good already (imo)
    - Motherwell have been sound as f*ck, and granted us early access, we'll be up at the crack of dawn to place the flags on seats, if you find one on your seat, you simply wave it as the teams come out.
    - Due to the amount spent and the good quality of the flags, we request that anyone who doesn't want to take their flag home as a keepsake, places it in one of the bags that will be near the exits at full time. We plan to donate plenty of them to the panda club to add a bit of colour to home games.
    - Our singing section has fully sold out, could have sold it out twice. Cooper stand should be pretty lively on the day!
    Come on ye Saints

Everyone is welcome to join us. The fact that around half of the names we have are families with young children speaks volumes.
That said, we don't want to spoil the day for people who don't want their view obscured by flags, so having our own section of a couple of hundred people makes sense.
I can honestly say that once you see the display, you'll change your mind on it. It's unlike anything we've done before, on a totally different scale, thanks to the crowdfund.
There's no right or wrong way to support St Mirren, but everyone should have the choice to support the team in their chosen way. The fact that we want to sing, wave flags... doesn't make us any better or worse than yourself. I don't understand why you're so keen to put us down.

Seriously mate, what a load of bull. Ive read some crap on here but you are definitely taking the biscuit!!
The guys offering his time to put something together for a special occasion that doesn't come around very often. Is a flag being passed over the fans for 5 mins before KO really going to upset anyone that much.
If you're not happy with this then im sure there will be sections in the stand you can sit away from where it will pass.
No ones forcing you to sit near where the fans want to express themselves this way.
Its a cup final, should be a good occasion and all some folk are interested in is taking digs at others.

    Ticket arrangements should be...
    1. Season ticket holders.
    2. Pay at the gate punters who keep Saturday's Falkirk game ticket stub.
    3. Travel club bus users.
    4. Members of SMiSA.
    5. Members of the Fan Council.
    6. Anyone with a Paisley postcode.
    7. Glory hunters who only turn out for cup games.
    8. Old Firm fans who adopt us as their 'wee team'.
    9. Those in Div's Sin Bin.

Why would any Saints fan be turning on Naismith just because he has signed a PCA fir next season with a better team. Don't you mean if he has an off day you will be turning on him ?

What's the point of that? There is a manager in the game that could shape team out of this squad of individuals.

There just seems to be willingness to ignore the fact that something is rotten at the core of our football club and it has been that way since at least the move to GHR.....the arrival of GLS and fan ownership won't change a damn thing.

    Totally agree.
His workrate is inspirational and he chases everything till the final whistle.
He will be a big player for us if we can get two of the midfield five taught to move closer to him and play off him.

I don't know how anyone can question John Suttons work rate. The guy is working his socks off.

He is battling for every header and winning most of them. Even at the weekend he was finding himself out on the wing and putting in crosses and I've seen him a number of times sprinting to take quick corners when we are chasing games.

I think he could do with someone quicker playing alongside him which is fair enough but I wouldn't question how hard he works for our club.
