That game was of course postponed which isn't his fault but given where we were at his appointment, if we get relegated in the next 5 games plus two playoffs, he will not and cannot survive. To get relegated from the position we were in only 8 weeks ago would be unforgivable and impossible for him to recover from.

Dreadful so far. The last two rounds of results elsewhere have gone about as well as we could have possibly hoped for and we've been ahead in both of our own matches. Holding out for 6 or even 4 points between those two would have seen top six sewn up with a game in hand. Instead we're now the out of form tram in the league and being chased down by a resurgent St. Johnstone. We should have never been anywhere near this. That we are is quite ridiculous.

I like him. He's never going be prolific but he's a good striker for our level and unlucky with injuries. He holds up play well for his relatively small stature.

We are sold the extra stand situation as it being beneficial to the club but really, is it? We still never manage to hold onto our best players at the end of contracts and they go elsewhere for little or nothing anyway. If someone could feasibly turn around and say that the money generated by the OF getting an extra stand translated into being able to offer enough to keep hold of best players like Hladky, McGrath or Alnwick for another couple of years then I'm sure we'd be seeing benefit of that. But that doesn't happen, it's not as if any of the signings we make appear to be in anyway above our station either as a result of this extra income.

Talk about a loaded question intended to get an outcome you want FFS. The question should be 'should the old form be given two stands? Yes or No'. Neutral, non-emotive and gets a true flavour of feeling on the subject. However, 'The old firm attendances have provided £x over the last 4 seasons and its just wonderful having their money. We understand this is divisive among supporters but moneymoneymoneymoney!!! So with this in mind, should we continue giving them an extra stand or would you prefer we cut our own throats? I'll say it because it seems to be beyond many. Scott Brown cannot play for another club in this window unless he moves to a club abroad where the transfer window is open. The fact he's a free agent does not matter, Aberdeen hold his registration and will do so until the window reopens. He cannot play for another club in Scotland, England or anywhere unless somewhere like Scandinavia if the window is still open.

£2.5k p/w sounds about right for highest paid manager at the club. Realistically, who will we ever have paid more to? You could say at a push Stubbs but then we were freshly promoted at that point and not at all established so it's highly unlikely.

Robinson is a tremendous appointment. A total left field one too as I don't think any of us expected to be buying out a contract of a league 1 manager.

I'll be honest I'm not getting the gnashing of teeth over Brown. It doesn't say anywhere that his appointment is imminent or stuck on, just that we want to consider him as an option. Although I agree that its a risk, I'm not THAT worried about it being someone's first job. I remember thinking when Stubbs came in that it was refreshing that for once, we hadn't gone for a rank rookie or someone who had only managed with success at a part time team. That a guy who had been there and done it was exactly what we needed. The only managers in my memory that don't fit that description are Bone, Hay, Rae and Stubbs. The latter three were total disasters, none of the three looking or feeling like they actually gave a shit or got the club they worked for. The others, Fitzpatrick x2, Hendrie, Coughlin, McPherson, Lennon, Craig, Teale, Murray, Ross and Goodwin were all either first timers, internal appointments, part timers or a mixture. Attitude trumps experience for me in some instances. If someone - not just necessarily Brown - comes in as their first gig and throws themselves at the job, gives a shit and looks like he's buying into it rather than just there for a payday with a billy big baws attitude that alienates the dressing room and supporters, then I'll be OK with it.

More like 400k over the length of the three and a half year deal he signed. If he was on 400k a year we'd be looking at the ballpark of £1m in compensation from Aberdeen. £250k basically gives away what he's on with us. £250k over the next two and a bit years puts him squarely in the ballpark of being paid £2k a week as manager. He'll jump onto £6k per week at Aberdeen, several times what he ever made as a player, without even negotiating hard.

Neil Murray is the agent putting the transfer together. Hearing we're looking at a 'similar type' of player to JJ coming in as well. Snodgrass would actually make sense in that context.
