Maybe Mair has a bit more influence than I thought?....very popular guy is Mairzo ....Div's best mate at St Mirren I think?......Club and manager made a cnut of handling his situation.......But no matter IMO we need to change and need to do it now.

Reading through these posts I am surprised that Danny is still the manager of our club. My posts on Danny have been positive in the main. I try to listen to people who are connected to the club for info and as we all do read or listen between the lines. I think it would be a mistake now to keep him and I expect him to be gone tomorrow. There comes a time when a manager needs to leave and it is now. Pat Fenlon is clinging on and his board have opened up the cheque book to give him a chance.....Danny doesn't have that. The pressure of a must win game against Motherwell is not how it should be and whether you are in the Danny camp or not this circus has to end. I predict football of a survival nature will follow and we will never give up the amount of possession against teams like Thistle again this season.

Oooo the irony!
What general consensus? Because you say so? Are you ignoring the poll you set up then?
You are sad.
He's gone mate.....sacked.....We move on.

No matter who....I have a real problem with our squad......Too many ageing players in key positions and too many young players getting chucked in......Our squad is not the quality it was in the game Danny kicked off against Dunfermline on a Monday night. Take a look for yourself ?
-
I have no idea. I don't think the discussion has even started.
Who do you think?
Paul Hartley?
-
Can't imagine that Danny will take any time on here to witness his demise.....But if anyone is close to him please pass on my appreciation for what he achieved for our club. Change happens and like Tom Hendrie (god).Champions!...Danny will always be remembered as the guy who won the League cup for the only time in our history......A massive success!
-
Of course i will give him my all out support. Just like i supported Danny for his first full season in charge here. Whoever the new man is i'd certainly hope every St Mirren fan gets right behind him, regardless of his past dealings with the fans.
Who?
-
I thought Lex had all the answers?......Give us a name and assistant...go on buddie?
-
Got your new guy Lex...whoever it is .....how will you judge him ?......All out support?

The general consensus seems to be that the BoD have made the difficult decision that Danny's time at St Mirren has came to an end. The next 24-48 hours will be spent negotiating severance terms with Danny and his representatives, then an announcement will be made.
Hey hoy....this is true.....New man coming in ....top six awaits?
-
Might be fun to try it. 'Haw! Hanks... You're shite! Get it fcuking sorted Spielberg!' booooooooo!
Could be an interesting experiment.
Maybe work better with real people at the Kings or Pavilion?....."Hawl... Phantom!....aye you ya cnut ..... opera!....Your were fcukin' pish and I want that Webber prick sacked!
-
Keep Danny then. He's about the right size.
Main man in mid.....pulling the strings like his Rovers days....lol
-
Could've done with it being smaller today, stop thistles players getting so much time and space!
We have been reducing it since the start of the season.....Next season subbuteo
-
Cheers mate.
I think right now, we need someone to steady the ship. Someone like Jim Jeffries (Pars must owe him money so should be easy to recruit). Experienced in the SPL and would like to see him brought in just to steady things and get back to basics. Long term, I'd fancy a young manager down South who will recognise League 1 & League 2 players that would rip the p*ss up here, similar to what Butcher has done at ICT.
Not sure I would like any of the dinosaurs around our club......But fair play with a name ....More of the same from the any who want change
-
It's not always that easy. I used to be a manager for Billy Smart's Circus and had to fire the Human Cannonball. (Every weekday and twice on Saturdays)
Brillliant!

My view on today's game and recent concerns from the supporters.
Wouldn't have changed the defence that we put out. It is the strongest defence we have with the players we have. We are unable to judge McGregor at this point in time.
Midfield, unfortunately, is where it all went pair shaped. Teale should have started. If he was carrying an injury, he was fit enough to play the second half and therefore should have started to put us in the strongest position possible. Newton has played one game at right midfield before today, and that was at home to Ross County in his first game where he got hooked for being awful. Why he was played there? Only Danny knows.
McGowan hasn't been a main feature in the team this season, but he is without doubt our best player, so there must be reasons for that behind the scene.
McGinn is not a holding midfielder, the only players we have capable of playing that role is Goodwin and Newton, so we lacked the fight necessary in this league to win right away. Harkins is also not a central midfielder, on the left in a 4-5-1 or in a role behind the front two, then he will do well. He does not track back and therefore we were always going to struggle in the midfield.
Up front, we have all been shouting that Thompson is unable to play up front by himself. Therefore, I was behind Danny's decision to play the new guy up front. Amusing to find some supporters saying that he shouldn't have started because he was only signed yesterday... make up your mind. Thought he looked unfit and had a couple of poor touches, but he was getting long balls played to him all throughout the first half and didn't seem to know what to do. If we have Teale putting balls into the box, I'm confident we would have seen a different side to him.
First half we were very poor. Thistle were allowed so much space it was unbelievable. They simply wandered through the midfield. BUT, I was thankful we got to half time and after bringing Teale on felt we had an 'out' for the ball and started to look a bit better. Especially with Newton being moved back into the central midfield position. However, once again, showed that Thompson can not play up front himself.
We were lucky to take the lead but unfortunately couldn't keep them out (despite a few good saves). As soon as the first goal went in the heads went down. I thought Goodwin was buried in the park after the second went in!
Partick Thistle deserved their win and were excellent throughout. What they lacked in 'quality' they certainly made up with determination and desire. A welcome additional to the SFPL. They reminded me very much of us when we came up, plenty of fight and bottle, but just a lack of a cutting edge.
I was generally gutted for Danny Lennon tonight. I'm only 23 years of age, so the cup win was without a doubt the greatest day/week of my life so far. He is such a nice guy. However, it is a results driven business and in the league (which is our bread and butter) he has not delivered. The board are all St Mirren supporters and will no doubt have some food for thought tonight, however I personally believe that a change is needed. Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes is all you need. But I will always be thankful for Lennon for the memories and if the board decide to let him go, then he goes with my very best wishes.
What has dissapointed me in the last few weeks is the disgusting supporters who think it is ok to give personal abuse either online or sitting in the stand to a guy simply trying his best to do his job. If these morons even have jobs, I'd personally like to spend the day at their work shouting behind them telling them they are a f'king idiot.

Good post bud.....I think it is fair though that anyone posting that Danny should go offers a name for replacement.....Just seems a bit silly to me that no one seems to give us the guru that we need to get it all on track.
-
lol.....football takes all employment practices ...wraps them up in chip paper and chucks them right in your face!.....What you gonna do about it exiledfan?...Well ?.........I'm Jim Goodwin ...make your move punk
-
It's real and I have no idea if Danny is in this position. Happened to Tom Hendrie in the SPL......Ex player told me why and how.......If it has happened then there is no way back. If you think about it then it's human nature.....don't like your boss?...fcuk him/her.....Think the boss is ok or better you work harder.

A change of manager often makes a marked (or should that be marced) difference.
If/when DL goes, someone WILL come in. Life will move on.
Who should it be? Dunno. Someone who can inspire the players would be useful though.
I wasn't being flippant .....I think our club needs a new direction but I'm struggling to see how it can happen. Other clubs our size have stole a march on us and It's not just down to the manager. I think it's fair for anyone who demands change should offer a name and how he will turn things around. IMO we have major problems with the squad we have and I can think of no new manager who can turn this around at this time
-
Probably already posted but hey ho worth another mention.....Partick Thistle fans 1600 ...magic!
-
Ok lets sack Danny....who is coming in?.......Must be a great manager out there who can put everything right......Gees a name?
-
what a load of bull shit. Get rid of the players who have got complacent first, ok they won a league cup but they have done sod all since then. McLean ? bye bye. McGowan ? bye bye. Thommo ? bye bye. You can;t live on memories, either you want more or you think you;re better than you've shown over the last few games.
Don't blame the manager for players who don't a give a shit any longer.
I think you are being a bit harsh there but you make a valid point. If I am honest and I look through our squad right now player by player I see lots of problems....The magic manager change will not make them go away!
-
Clearly this run of results is not a blip. We are spinning downwards out of control, the players have totally lost confidence in themselves and the manager, our next victory could coincide with the next sighting of Halley's comet, and Danny Lennon is not the man to fix it. The BoD must delay no more, he has to go immediately.
Any idea if SG has the Wonga to pay off Lennon or were you looking to chip in?
-
Not sure a change in manager will cure our ills.....I do agree it's fair now to consider sacking him. As ICT go from strength to strength It's important to remember that that club and BOD have been nothing short of fantastic on a small budget for many years. We fail in so many ways in comparison ....Transfer window closes tonight ...no idea if we have any money....New manager same team looks like a battle to avoid drop anyway and I have no idea if we have the money to pay Danny off.....Never felt so without hope so early in the season but things can change....all I ask is for a fight from all concerned to the end and if we end up down then so be it ....we've been there before!....coys!

The only answer is to move on....A new manager will get some time as fans make excuses for defeats due to the previous manager etc. Danny would be under too much pressure if the BOD keep him IMO and as such he should go. A wee thought about the gardening leave pish which goes on.....St Mirren will benefit from Celtic's CL success to the tune of £150,000 ..that's not in our budget ........use that to give our cup winning manager a pay off he deserves and save the dignity you lost from Tom Hendrie!
