Season tickets should be valid for friendlies.!

Any substantial ‘windfall’ from a McGinn transfer would surely negate the need to pilfer SMiSA money, ring-fenced for share purchase purpose, to fund astroturf repairs at Ralston. If we receive (hypothetically) one million quid, it would surely amount to a disgrace to still use SMiSA funds for such a purpose.

This might not be a sexy use of money but it is an excellent idea.
Anything which "sweats the asset" of our stadium and surrounding land should be a very high priority. We cannot be dependent on fan numbers or TV revenue.

Looking at the ground and the wee things like this that go on around it, it's very well maintained.
Look at some of the other 'new' grounds that are only 20-25 years old. Livingston's ground is a badly run down mess outside of it and even inside, the seats and stands need a lot of maintenance.
    Ditto for Airdire.
Compare this to Hamilton and St. Johnstone's (now pushing 30 years old) grounds where the stands are kept in good nick with regular maintenance and it's good to see we're on that level rather than having a shiny new ground that is seemingly allowed to just fester away.

We've moved the whole site onto SSL secured hosting, so you should see the wee padlock in your browser when you are using it now.
There should be no knock on issues from this, but if you use the App you might want to close it down and open it up again if you're not seeing the topics.
    Cheers ya wee dobbers.

    Indeed.
Reward the punters who put there cash up front.
Maintain the feelgood factor that many still have.

I agree, season ticket holders should have free entry to home pre-season friendlies. In fact, why not just make them free for everyone to attend. These fixtures are nothing more than practise games where both teams are experimenting with their squad and formations, the result means hee-haw, and it would be better to have a few thousand in attendance creating some atmosphere than have a ghost attendance.
Come on GLS, you know it makes sense !!!!

Stokes would be a terrific signing, trust Stubbs on this 1.
Would rather he played for us than against us, quality player.

Will we ever have a home kit as good as this again..... Probably not it's far too simple.

It’s not just for aesthetics, the driving force behind filling the corners is to increase income by creating offices, more hospitality etc.

The corners could be filled in to accommodate catering, offices, reserved boxes or just a blank wall to keep the wind out and enclose the stadium for a better atmosphere. It does not have to be filled with seats.

Serious question. Are you a regular on any Sunderland fan forum, and if so, are you an irritating pain in the arse on there too?

Don't like this one bit, but as it is such a ridiculous name it now gives us the chance to cement "Love Street Stadium" as the universally used name.

All I did was measure the thickness of the stripes on an old Fergie’s Furies era shirt, then basically ask Richard Atkinson to get JD Sports to marry it with all-white shorts and socks. The biggest (only?) decision was a round neck or V neck collar, and should the collar be white or black. Pretty much came down to the toss of a coin and we went with round neck. JD did a great job with the sponsor logo on that kit though. That was their remit and they did it right.
Design time on that kit: two minutes.
That was the point though. Just keep it simple. Black and white stripes really can be simple to get right. Juventus mostly manage it every season.

Sad - but the pessimists are in the majority on this topic.
When we 'peaked' in the 80s, Rangers and Celtic were averaging about half what they get now.
Hearts and Hibs are now at almost record attendance levels and Aberdeen have failed to replicate St Mirren in attendance decline since the 80s.
So this is not necessarily part of a national decline in attendances - more a local one due to the fact that we have not enjoyed much success in staying in the top six in Scotland since the 80s.
I am not saying that we are ready to invest in expanding the stadium at this moment in time, but to aim for say 10,000+ (on at least ten times a season) within five successful years in the Scottish Premiership is not an unreasonable target for a town the size of Paisley.
I am afraid that there will be more than a few struggling to get a seat at our dinky little junior football stadium next season if interest in the Scottish Premiership grows as anticipated by some pundits.

first section to get looked at is space between main stand and family stand.  i think we could increase hospitality numbers on matchday and use space during week  for coffee shop[think this has been suggested before numerous times by LPM], as well as increasing fans there too[not standing]believe architects looking at it.   Money may come from chunk of what we get if McGinn or Magennis move on from hibs or us

The fact that stadium improvements were mentioned again today without being asked specifically about it, suggests its back on the table and been discussed again since the celtic/rangers fans issue.

I thought that was done ages ago. I'm sure I read it in one of Gordon Scott's releases and it was dismissed at least for the time being.
The only way extending the stadium makes any business sense at all would be if there were going to be revenue raising facilities fitted out the void spaces. And safe standing is just stupid. Rail seats - used for safe standing - cost around £80 per seat, whereas a normal seat costs around £30. Would fans wanting to stand be happy to pay a premium to do so? And would they be prepared to pay a premium to stand in the corner?
To be honest I'd put a price of £30 per seat on safety since bog standard seats have improved stadium safety beyond any doubt since the Taylor Report. Standing has never been safer than sitting. Paying £50 per seat extra to reduce the level of safety in a football stadium is plain stupid.

Neilson is playing the media game.
Once he realised that he had zero chance of being offered the St Mirren job, which I believe he REALLY wanted, it was obviously better for his personal image and self-esteem to make it very public that he was never interested in working for such a pissy wee club as ours anyway.
    F off imposter.

Time now for the Board to end this circus.Jack has done a great job and we are all eternally grateful.Time now to decide where his future lies. How long does it take to accept a job offer? The club is bigger than anybody and we have a crucial season ahead.Fact is players like their futures sorted prior to going on holiday this is the norm and above all they like to know who their manager will be.Gordon and Tony get it sorted and remember season tickets go on sale next week.Time to get this fiasco sorted pronto.

I am a bit obsessive myself.
Got to pass the old Love Street before every home match at Greenhill Road.
Even if it means taking diversions to do it as sometimes coming into Paisley from different directions.
    Usually, off M8 at Airport.
    Head for Love Street.
Respectful nod of head as I pass.
Then to West End to pick up my wee daughter.
    Off to Greenhill Road.
Will continue routine, even after houses are built.
