  1. For a minute I thought you meant Ian......... then again no!!!!!
  2. Morton totally deserved their point and in all honesty I won't not have been surprised if they had taken all 3. Where do we start with St. Mirren however. Langfield - some decent saves, poor distribution and some real crazy clearances. Might be one of our own but, not convinced at all by him this season. Reid - Did OK i suppose but, no more than a below average player who offers nothing going forward. Kelly - Have never liked the guy, will never like the guy, total bombscare, doesn't know how to defend or what to do with the ball. Lacks confidence and is a liability but, gets picked every week ???? Webster - Defended well tonight, maybe lacks pace at times but at least he shows a desire to win the ball and win his battle against the forward, would make him captain now in Goodwin's absence. Baird - Thought Jack was our best player tonight but we need to watch his confidence doesn't take a battering playing in such a poor team/defence. Step forward Webster to help him at this time. McMullan - Drifts in and out of games too easily, doesn't want to track back, flatters to deceive at times, wouldn't get a game with Blantyre Celtic never mind Glasgow Celtic. Carswell - Did OK in parts tonight, still don't know how he managed to play at the SPL level for so long. Poor ball control, poor passing options, poor decisions, very poor player. Agnew - Again drifts in and out of games, flatters to deceive, lacks fitness, couldnae tackle a fish supper, lucky to stay on pitch after elbowing Morton player. He was 28 years of age before he went full time which I think says a lot. Not good enough for Saints. Mallan - A few nice touches tonight and a decent free kick towards the end of the first half. Only decent midfield player we have and maybe tries too hard to cover for his midfield team mates lack of ability by trying to cover for them and their lack of skill. Manager also plays him out of position at times. Gallagher - Another flatter to deceive player who delivers very little, has a strange running style as if he bursting for the toilet whilst on the move. Shankland - Showed very little tonight, had a couple of chances but, blew them. Got too involved with silly challenges and ended up booked. Poor performance overall. Subs: Mclear- If the wee guy was sitting next to me in the Bankhouse I wouldn't know who he was. Yet another midget from the under 20's production line but, hey lets's play the high ball to him... pointless. Too early to say if he's good enough, however a poor decision yet again by the Manager to drop a young boy into a game of this importance. Thompson - Could someone please take Steven aside and tell him he's DONE AT THIS LEVEL. Contribution zero, hold up play hopeless, lack of ability/fitness embarrassing. Chuck it. Howieson - On too late to make any impact but again lacks ability and I would have to say lacks heart and desire, again not good enough for Saints. As for Murray he selects the team, I take it he works on tactics and set plays but nae matter who his number 2 is nothing changes, The team couldn't string 2 passes together, we sit far too deep and invite teams to attack. The midfield is non existent and the forwards have to feed off scraps. There is no structure to the team but it's all the referees fault because we keep getting bad decisions against us according to Ian. Wake up, smell the coffee and take a hike!!! Overall tonight's performance was an embarrassment and I have seen better organised sides at the Racecourse. God only knows how much more of this garbage we can all suffer.
  3. This disasterous season reminds me of an old Ripping Yarns episode titled 'Golden Graham' Extremely relevant to how we all feel at present (although I haven't quite got round to wrecking the house,,,,,,,yet!!)
  4. Yes there were some great games in the 80's under Alex Miller (beating Dundee United 4-0, beating Sellic 4-2, beating Rangers every season at Love Street and of course the famous European win over Slavia Prague). However Mr.Miller also presided over the Hammarby disaster and the Sellic 5-0 last game of the season debacle which as we all know many fans of Hearts and Rangers have great delight in reminding us in their own words 'that St.Mirren lay doon to Sellic that day' I have reminded many of them that the goalkeeper that day was Jim Stewart (now at Sevco and ex Rangers keeper), right back was Tommy Wilson (future Rangers coach), up front was Kenny McDowall (future Sevco coach/manager) and First Team Manager Alex (Humphy) Miller (ex Rangers left back). None of this seems to have any great effect on their lowly opinion and thanks to Mr. Miller many of us Saints fans (of a certain age) have had to put up with this garbage for 30 years. Do I welcome him back?? Frankly no, I mean this guy set up a swap deal with Dundee with Lex Richardson and John McCormack going to Dens and Peter effin Mackie and Eric (one game) Sinclair coming to Love Street. Wonder who got the better of that transfer???? Someone mentioned certain players being sold McDougal, McAvennie and Fulton to name but a few however, Ian Scanlon was never sold on, he picked up a career ending injury in 1985 and was never heard of again. Looks like the board have yet again employed a pensioner to sort out the current shambles, god help us!!!
  5. Jim Goodwin was excellent again today and sadly we have no ready made replacement for him at present. As for the ref, is it really a surprise he was so quick to book the ghost as we've seen this kind of decision and reaction from refs so many times before it shouldn't shock us. The ref should be made to explain why Kiernan of Rangers escaped punishment for so long as the guy committed more fouls in 90 minutes than Jim Goodwin has in umpteen games!!!!
  6. Thought we lost our way a wee bit after Goodwin went off as Carswell is sadly a imposter of player, god only knows why he managed to stay at Motherwell for so long. As for the Rangers number 4 Kiernan, Christ only knows why he escaped unpunished for so long, please explain Mr McLean??????? As has been mentioned too many players look unfit for some unknown reason but, it was our best home performance of the season so far and hopefully we can now kick on from this. (Although our passing is far too pedestrian). Mallan was not a the races today and certainly not his best game although I don't think he was deployed in his most effective position. Thompson's best game by far this season, more like his old self showing a hunger and desire which has been sadly lacking of late. More positives than negatives today but, we must produce this type of performance on a consistent basis and also noticed Ian Murray stayed in the dugout area throughout the 90 mins.
  7. But on Spalding's playstation and X-box games this no tactic set up worked a treat and we managed to horse them 1 0. In all honesty it was one of the most painfully awful games I've witnessed in many years. The team as has been mentioned is totally devoid of ideas and if a certain Mr. Thompson would concentrate on his own sadly pedestrian game rather than shout at the younger forwards around him he may be more productive to the team. As for Sean Kelly the guy couldnae cross the road never mind cross a decent ball. Man of match for me was Jim Goodwin but, even he looked lacklustre at times. Is Murray the man for the job, well the clock is definitely ticking but in all honesty would or could any of us trust the incompetent board to make a decent appointment?? Cheap options only mind.
  8. What will come first??? 1. A St.Mirren league win. 2. The release of the red away strip.. Answers on a postcard.
  9. The most worrying thing is that we create little or nothing from set plays and Agnew in particular looks woefully out of his depth (although he was signed on Murray's say so that he was a decent player at this level, although inconsistent). He has been consistent in league games, consistently crap (albeit he scored a cracker against Dumbarton) but, overall play smacks of a poor mans Mark Reilly although Mavis was 10 times the player he is!!!! Me thinks he needs dropped pronto. Also heard on good authority that the man who eats, sleeps and breathes football and works 27 hours a day (allegedly) aka Mark Spalding does all the training and team set ups. Murray does feck all by all accounts and by christ this all makes sense on match days. Really fear we are on the Dungfermline slide that some predicted and at present see no light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Perhaps Thommo can get out his paint brush and spruce it up a bit.
  10. Thanks as I am presently employed it that area it's going pretty well. I
  11. Until Murray works out his best team we are in deep trouble, Don't tell me Agnew is a better option than Mallan or Kelly is the answer at centre half both are largely posted missing but, for whatever reason the manager seems to have faith in them. Langfield star man. as for the rest Goodwin looks like he gives a fake others should take note. Conlon makes Bobby Law look competent yet another wage thief. Can only see another season of complete and utter garbage ahead.
  12. Thought the young kids did OK, Baird in particular my MOM. As for Thompson I have never seen a worse penalty from a St. Mirren player, he really should be ashamed. Disgrace!!!!!
  13. Scott Agnew should be a useful squad player in the Petrocrap Cup.
  14. Questions have to asked by our board to the SPFL as to why our opening day fixtures for THE LAST 3 SEASONS have all been away. As for Sevco, yet another home game opener, surprise surprise SPFL, let's hope for a McDowall type bundle goalie and ball type winner!!!! That should annoy the Breadman.
  15. Top reminds me of Fila sponsored jersey from 2011-12 season. As for black shorts and socks it's a no no, as previously mentioned black shorts should be accompanied with white socks. An all black strip just reminds me of a Newcastle United outfit. Wonder if JD have sold out of last seasons abomination yet????
  16. i thought the Selllic fans already had a standing area, namely the North Stand and part of the West Stand at St.Mirren Park, AS THEY NEVER SEEM TO SIT ON THEIR BACKSIDES FOR THE FULL 90 MINUTES.
  17. I couldn't give a Petrofeck about the Petrofac Cup. Nonsense and meaningless competition.
  18. Hear tonight's player of the year award is being presented by Sepp Blatter. Go FIFA, go FIFA.
  19. In all honesty, who really cares whether it's Killie, Motherwell or Ross County who finish in 11th place. All I care about is that we finished bottom of a poor SPL league and have went down with a whimper with employees at the club already losing their jobs because of this, i.e. Paul Mathers and Gerry Docherty. As for Saturday's result, I really couldn't give a toss, a bit like the players I gave up any hope and desire a long while ago.
  20. Thanks Shull r u my personal policeman?????? As for a new era, how many players will be left for next season??? As mentioned glorified training match.
  21. Her Dad is Gilmour and uncle is McAusland, you do the maths!!!!!!
  22. Reminds me of Steven Robb (injured), apparantly has loads of ability but, fails to deliver on a consistent basis due to injury and other feeble excuses etc. Sorry, the guy is a poor excuse of a player and unless we're Barcelona we really can't afford the luxury of Gregg Wylde next season when we need consistent performances. Next stop for Gregg, Montrose maybe.
  23. Ho hum, we managed to beat Killie, maybe if the same desire, passion, ability and will to win had been shown in games that REALLY MATTER i.e. Motherwell away amongst others, we wouldn't be in the bloody mess we're in now. Look we're doomed, end of and I only wish the so called players at our club had shown the same fight earlier in the season, as has been mentioned TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE !!!!!
  24. What we'll have tomorrow is a team of inexperienced wee boys against a Killie side we've taken zero points from so far. Can't see anything other than a 3 0 loss. Get ready to make the noise in the West Stand normally reserved for James Forrest, Weeee, weeeee, weeeee!!!!!
