  1. See our forward thinking board have struck again, £20 quid for two frankly meaningless games against Killie and Motherwell. They really know how to treat customers and thank us for our continued support. In all honesty they would have to pay me £20 to attend. C'mon the Saints under 11's.
  2. On my only visit to the museum way back in 2003, I couldn't find the St.Mirren exhibit and asked one of the Barcelona stewards if he could point me in the direction of the poster. Bear in mind I was wearing a Saints training t-shirt (Red top with white trim), the steward looked at my top, looked and pointed at the Saints badge and in his Spanish accent said 'ah Saint Meerin, upstairs'. Needless to say I found the poster and got a couple of pics standing beside it and don't remember any issues with taking photos although that may have since changed. Footnote to this is prior to visiting the museum I was standing pitch side at the stadium watching Patrick Kluivert training on his own when an unknown guy walked up to me and said 'Imagine meeting a fellow St.Mirren fan at the Nou Camp' to which my wife replied 'You cannae even meet a fellow St.Mirren fan at Love Street'. Women don't you just love them !!!!
  3. By all accounts a nice guy and a Saints fan but, by no means a good central defender and before you all ask, yes I was one the fans who was frankly sick of his mistakes week in week out and a game that sticks out was the 2 0 midweek defeat against Accies earlier this season when he made at least two mistakes before passing the ball straight to an Accies player to score the second. I remember having a frank exchange of views with a fellow supporter regarding McAusland's ability with Cheesy looking directly at me throughout the exchange. Needless to say I am not disappointed to see him leave. As for him being termed a legend let's just say he's right up there with Hugh Murray in terms of ability and I could count on my one hand the number of decent displays I've witnessed from Cheesy. Next stop for him, maybe Arthurlie or Neilston Juniors if they're struggling.
  4. Mr Gilmour and his BOD would not welcome a fan or two on to the board me thinks, for fear they may actually question some of the idiotic decisions made by our beloved leaders. Point 1: Would any right minded fan really agree to giving Tommy Craig a two year contract???? Point 2: Would any right minded fan really agree to the signing of unknowns such as Ball and Marwood to bolster the squad and giving McAusland the captain's armband as well as a pretty hefty salary???? Point 3: Would any right minded fan really allow those two monstrosities of strips to pass as first team outfits???? Point 4: Would any right minded fan really agree to allowing an untried and inexperienced Manager such as Gary Teale, with the youth team coach as his assistant to try and dig us out of the mess left by the aforementioned Mr. Craig???? Point 5: Would any right minded fan really allow our best player to sign for Aberdeen for a pittance???? Point 6: Would any right minded fan really allow the rest of the long suffering supporters to put up with the kind of dross currently on show without at least communicating with the fans and apologising for the product on show???? Point 7: Would any right minded fan really treat the rest of the support with the utter contempt displayed by our BOD throughout the season???? I could add more but, in reality the answer would be an emphatic no to all questions asked and the BOD really need to get the next major decision right i.e. the Managerial position as the wrong decision could quite easily see us fall out of the Championship and end up God knows where.
  5. I have a gut feeling we can actually beat Ross County, though I can't provide any logic to it. 3 factors may help us. 1. We need a reaction from the players due to the god awful performance against Motherwell. 2. Ross County have a poor record in Paisley (can only remember them winning once, Ivan Sproule hat trick a couple of season ago). 3. Willie Collum is referee and he owes us a couple of dodgy decisions BIG TIME, look out for sending offs, penalties and if we're getting gubbed abandon the game !!!!!
  6. Oh for the days of scraping the red ash out of your knees, Ronnie Delia would really love that, through in a Mitre Mouldmaster for good measure !!!!!
  7. Jose Mourinho, if he's up to the challenge???????
  8. We should pick 11 Saints fans to play against County. I'm sure they'd show more fight, desire, skill and organisation than some of the spineless individuals who pass as professional players at the club. Or we could just ask Willie Collum to abandon the game !!!
  9. We can do what, stay up.!!!!! FFS we can't score, we can't defend and our home record is the worst in our history, open your feckin eyes FACT!!! Whit feckin part do you no get, the times up.,The team is down, much as we'd all like to deny, learn to live with it, it's much less painful. Thanks Mr G, that move to that ultra new modern stadium has really moved club forward, just like those GIANTS of English football Chesterfield, Colchester and Shrewsbury Town all built by Bill Barr template stadium set ups. Briliant
  10. Yet another example of English anti SNP press, do your feckin homework lazy journalists !!!!!!!!
  11. Assuming we put together a run that as yet has been unseen this season!!!! Look Motherwell and Ross County have gained in confidence and have put a string of results together, we on the other hand have been rank all season and TBH the only team I would put money on St Mirren beating n the bottom six would be Acciies should they drop into that part of the SPL. We are ta ta fact, learn to live with it, clearly the board gave up some time ago and TBH other than Goodwin the players have as well.
  12. I have a cunning plan M'Lord, emm, emm emm, emm
  13. Sorry pozbaird, Mrs Alshboy also sends her apologies (whilst drinking her red wine) but, in this situation if we didnae laugh we'd greet, God bless St. Mirren.
  14. If Cheesy is under contract at least our defence will be sound in the championship, as solid a defender as John Potter, oh and Daddy is still on the board. Magic!!!!!
  15. We'd be better off with Ryvita, at least it might provide some energy !!!!!!
  16. We're in the stickiest situation since sticky the stick insect got stuck on a sticky bun. I think by next Monday we'll become unstuck, goodbye ESPL hello Championship. The most annoying thing is (Goodwin apart) we're going down with a whimper, well done Mr. Gilmour and the board, what about your knickerwetter comment now.
  17. I love some fans blind faith and downright positivity regarding the result, however anything less than a 4 0 defeat is a good result for us. For the first time in many years I will not be attending a Saints - Sellic game as I have no faith in the current board, team or management to dig us out of this hole and I frankly have better things to spend £25 quid on at present.. As mentioned previously we managed to get results against Selllic when the chips were down, 1 1 in the late 80's when McAvennie missed a penalty (allegedly on purpose) and the unforgettable 4 0 victory after the League Cup final debacle. Don't see anything other than a heavy defeat and don't hold out much hope for the Motherwell or Ross County games either, although the manager says he will start to bring in major changes to the team (no doubt drop Dayton and replace him with Cheesy, yipppeeeeee).
  18. In all honesty I see us picking up zero points from 9 in the next three games as the fight seems to have gone from us. Teale is clearly out of his depth and his reliance in a clearly unfit forward line of Gow and Thompson, a poor excuse of a player in Kelly, a waste of space in Wylde and a daft wee boy in Reilly (who he thinks will make a difference from the bench) will seal relegation for Saints and ensure any chance he ever had of managing Saints has gone, although if the present board are still in control next season he'll probably remain, BECAUSE HE'S THE CHEAP OPTION !!!!!
  19. I think we're all now resigned to the fact we're going down, the more worrying thing is when will the freefall end. A new board is drastically required with ambition, drive and a desire to push the club forward, sadly qualities Mr. Gilmour and his cronies lack. We need only look at our friends from Dungfermline (as has been previously mentioned) to see where we may end up. History tells us Saints don't bounce straight back up, so see you all (maybe) at some of Scottish football's more scenic outposts for the next 5 to 10 seasons.
  20. Listen when a poor Killie side take 9 points from us and an even poorer Motherwell side take 6 points (so far) I think the writing is on the wall for the Saints this season. We have been totally rank for most of the season and a combination of the TC appointment, the long running saga of his replacement resulting in an inexperienced Teale getting the nod, the god awful signings which took far toooooooooo long to move on (where is Fatty Ball????), the selling of McLean for peanuts and the garish home kit which is offensive to the eyes have all in some way contributed to our downfall this season. Don't give me that old pony about us all sticking together etc. the board have totally fecked up this season at our expense and to see that wee turd Lasley smirking when our result came in on Sportscene really sticks in my throat.
  21. Build more turnstiles, simply not enough. Paint the horrid grey panels in the Main Stand black and white Enlarge the tiny St Mirren Football Club sign in the Main Stand to a half decent size. Paint the shoddy grey breeze blocks under the stands. Get hot running water in the toilets. Enclose all the bare electric and plumbing work under the stands to make it look semi-professional. Wash the seats at least once a week, twenty quid to sit on manky seats is not on. Sort out the electronic entry system, a complete nightmare when it goes wrong. Paint black and white stripes on the outside panels of each stand, especially the Main Stand which looks like a cheap and shoddy finish (reminds me of the new Mill Street flats). In actual fact bulldoze the purpose built cheap and nasty place (all the soul of a local supermarket) and return to Love Street.
  22. Got to say Accies have a very decent record against us at GHR, other than the Higdon hatrick league game and the League Cup win over them with Lee Mair scoring I think we have lost every other game against them. No matter what sort of form Accies are in at the moment GHR is simply not a hard place to come and win, god only knows when and if a home win will come this season.
  23. You can bet your bottom dollar the curse of the ex Saints player will come back to haunt us, i.e. McLean will get his first goal for Aberdeen, don't expect him to celebrate too much though as a mark of respect to us.
