  1. I take it you'll be changing your forum name as well then? fan4TheNextFewMonths is available ;) Seriously, I don't expect to renew my season ticket next season either tbh. I take the kids and they just sit playing on their iPads for the duration of the game. Can't say I blame them but it's a waste of time and money. The highlight is by far and away the pie & bovril. Hopefully the next few months will be far more enjoyable and I'll change my mind.
  2. I thought the title was "Osbourne Sings" and assumed they were talking about Ozzy...
  3. Did my post appear in tiny font? Yeah not sure what happened there - I'm looking at this on my phone app now and all seems fine. Anyway, does anyone know the answer to my (daft) question?
  4. Is the game against Morton on Saturday the Renfrewshire Cup Final? Do we not have to win the semi-final first? I know it's unlikely but I remember us failing to reach the final once before (I think Davie Hay was the manager at the time). Are we therefore playing Morton regardless of the outcome of the semi final?
  5. I agree with the sentiment here; that football to a degree has forgotten it's about entertainment and is now more than ever concerned about money. But I would rather we were looking for that excitement at the other end of the league, just like every football supporter in the land. Unfortunately the entertainment at the top end of the league is even more non-existent than it is at the bottom. Anyone noticed any Celtic supporters basking in the glory of their league win this week? I certainly haven't. It's bland and pointless, and again fabricated by the need for financial gain. If it were still about entertainment, they would still be splitting the gates, home and away, to try and keep it as competitive as possible. I know there's far too much water under the bridge and it will never revert to that, but I can't help but think that, perhaps if there was more competition, there would have been more excitement, Celtic might have been pushed by the also-rans, and there may have been some actual glory / excitement in winning the league. And I firmly believe you have to taste the bitteness of defeat to truly appreciate the victories (which is just as well, being a Buddie ;)). If they lost the league now and again they might actually remember how great it is to win it. And then there's the team who is winning it insetad of them. Dear God how good would that be??? 40,000 Abderdeen fans for a League Cup Final??? Imagine they'd won the league!! Not to mention Parkhead might still be full each week, creating more revenue for the game as a whole. Would they *really* be worse off? Sorry, I feel I've gone a bit off-topic...
  6. Yup, I appreciate the club has been up for sale for some years now, but with SO many of the players/staff ulikely to be here next season, combined now with the club shop closing down, the whole thing smarts of a "done deal" in terms of the club sale, with preconditions being to leave the place with as clean a slate as is possible. I'm not questioning any individual's level of professionalism, I'm pretty sure they all hurt when they lose, but I can't help but think there is a disticnt lack of unity in the ranks, because most of them have only weeks left on their contracts and have no reason to have any real concern or passion for The Bigger Picture (unlike us poor mugs).
  7. These last few posts are exactly my concern. How many of the current squad have got contracts beyond this season? How many of the coaching / management staff have contracts beyond this season? And on top of all this, how many of the current BoD will be here after this season? There has been talk of new owners waiting in the wings, but the silence from the BoD has been deafening. For all we know, the buy-out is a done deal, regardless of which league we're in next year. The only stipultion may be that they don't go extending contracts, so that the new owners can put their own men in place. And where does that leave the club and suppotrers for now? Crossing fingers that we stay up, but no-one *really* caring because no-one is going to be around to actually have to face the consequences.
  8. First time in 27 years I HAVE bought a season ticket - £300 for me plus a free season ticket for each of my kids. Well done St.Mirren, great bit of commercial savvy. My youngest will be making her debut so hopefully she'll bring a bucket-load of beginners luck. COYS!
  9. Thanks for the heads-up Drew, I've just downgraded from XL and cancelled Sky Sports - like you I seldom watched the XL channels, my daughter is the only one upset as we've list the Disney channels (thank God). I've since subscribed to "Sky Sports TV" app on my Apple devices - you get all Sky Sports channels on your multiple apple devices for 4.99 a month - good enough for me and a fraction of the price I was paying Virgin (£25.75 a month)
