  1. Great result, bossed them all over the park. Made even better by no needless VAR interruptions. Must be a tough evening for you, won’t be much you can get to disagree with.
  2. That seems largely a dig at their operating model. They are a charity that do a lot of good for the people they serve & that capability to undertake projects has hugely benefited St Mirren. Especially at our training & youth academy facilities. As for AW getting banned, that wasn’t a Kibble director decision. He only has himself to blame for how it panned out. The nonsense over building on a plot of St Mirren owned land. Regardless of what people believe in the ‘he said, she said’ nature of it, it’s very trivial. All parties have confirmed nothing would ever have been progressed without the agreement of the football club.
  3. On this topic I am absolutely anti-AW. He’s needlessly blown up a trivial situation that’s painted the club in a very poor light. That’s my view on it, others obviously disagree. As for the Kibble, I get for some they can do no right. But I’m not sure what they’re supposed to be ‘milking’ from the club? As for oor @faraway saint, he’s a great example of a one track mind. You either agree fully with what he says on BAWA, or you’re getting a response explaining (often poorly) why you’re wrong. Different opinions need not apply. 😅
  4. Always going to be spin & assertion with this sort of announcement. For me, as we know it based on announcement. AW dropped his threat of legal action & the club said he could come back in. If that isn’t true, it will likely come out in the wash. Regarding AW getting his way & coming out on top on all of this. We’re talking about a guy that’s went from, long standing club director, with the 1877 club as his baby & (I imagine) generally well thought of by the majority of St Mirren fans with an opinion on him. To a paying punter, completely removed from any responsibility with 1877, who’s reputation has been dragged through the mud… Not to mention potentially still having a legal case from the kibble hanging over his head that could force a grovelling apology & financial hit. If that’s coming out on top, what would coming out on bottom look like? 😅
  5. That’s some amount of spin. He’s only been allowed back after backing down on his position to take action on the situation. It would appear he gets nothing he wants bar a seat at the ground. - No repercussions for the club on the supposed incident - no repercussions for SMISA - no actions for any individuals - Kibble & SMISA continue exactly as before. If AW is seeing this as a win, it certainly would be a very hollow one.
  6. Definitely reads as Wardrop has backed down. ‘I won’t take this any further, just please let me get back to watching the football as a fan’ No mention of the Kibble directors actions which (I believe) were only against Wardrop & not SMISA/ the club board/ the club as an entity. If they still have intent to go down legal routes & it’s just against him, that’s nothing to do with the club & those parties can sort it out. I feel though, there’s a decent chance this will be wider reaching with AW retracting his complaints fully & Kibble dropping their action against him. I do hope so anyway, even though it wouldn’t be directly hurting the club, we don’t need anymore publicity on this topic. https://www.renfrewshire24.co.uk/2023/07/20/st-mirren-fc-directors-granted-interim-interdict-at-court-of-session/
  7. Hopefully a sign that the entire situation is getting put behind us. It’s been a ridiculous mountain out of a mole hill from the get go. We are doing brilliant on the park. Also seemingly a lot has improved off the park financially after the fallout from Covid. Better looking forward than concentrating on a ‘he said, she said’ argument over something that was never even going to happen.
  8. VAR ruining yet another game as Spain have two checks so far. Second took far, far too long at almost five minutes. 1-0 Spain.
  9. Great night, really enjoyed it. Wee cheeky freebie as well through SMISA. HOF inductees were on point & the Lennon/ Thompson interviews cracking.
  10. All the hard work of the night undone with one slip. Brutal.
  11. https://x.com/pieandbov/status/1712565789847384308?s=46&t=o7cZTRZQdQRmoiuMLXLeXw 👀 👀 👀 it wouldn’t have been 6 posts if you could just accept a different view after the first. Oh or you stuck to your guns on your 3 post rule. 😂
  12. He wasn’t interfering with play. VAR only moved controversy & slows the game. You backed the wrong horse, accept it.
  13. 1-0 Spain yep. At least VAR keeps it fair eH…
  14. Just can’t help yourself. Go cry over different opinions, just like you must do, several times a day. 🥲
  15. It wasn’t debatable, it was completely wrong. 😂😂 Getting a positivity lecture from one of the most negative, miserable & argumentative fools to still post on here. 😂
  16. Did you celebrate the goal? Was there any point? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
  17. Just no point celebrating goals nowadays. VAR has completely ruined the beautiful game.
  18. Golden opportunity to utterly stick it to Alex Rae today & Strain f*cked it for us. God knows what he was thinking. Disappointing, self inflicted defeat.
  19. Terrible defending there, game over.
  20. Really impressed with McMenamin today.
  21. Stupidity. No excuse for that at all.
  22. Why on earth would anyone deliberately handball with VAR? Utter madness, complete stupidity.
  23. Did you take into account the repayments? Nope, it’s just a rough estimate but the interest calculation you & your pal have came up with are miles off on current rates. Even the first year interest at decent rates should be more than £2k. Reasonable to get a FRB/ savings account for around the 5% mark & that’s over £4K (before tax) alone.
  24. That’s your view. I don’t think there’s a better use of funds than providing a facility that will provide income for St Mirren without a financial outlet. for me, benefit & progress stops with my football club. 👍 I know, I was just giving my view.
  25. Because it would benefit St Mirren and that’s literally the main purpose for SMISA existing now. It isn’t just ‘some business’ it’s the reason SMISA exists. But if SMISA gift the funds, the money can go back into the football club we all support. 🤷‍♂️ A proposal that results in a stronger St Mirren which would come from less financial burden & retaining all that income to invest back in the team is probably the only thing that would benefit all St Mirren fans.
