Ball Boy

Ball Boy (2/14)

  1. Ian Scanlon. Never missed a penalty for us. First two goals for us knocked Celtic out the league cup. Scored my favourite goal ever in the 4 - 2 comeback game. A key player in getting us to four semi-finals in 3 seasons.
  2. Like others, I'm clicking on the buy tickets and nothing happening. Tried Firefox and Google. Working ok for the home game. It's looking like the TV for me. Suppose it would save me a 200 mile return trip tomorrow to pick them up.
  3. What route would you be taking (A1?) and would a pick up in lothian/borders be an option?
  4. Iain Anderson v Airdrie in 2006? Did he get two goals in that game?
  5. I'll go with that. Hadn't allowed for the Hibs V Killie match that Killie would need to win. Good to know.
  6. As above. We win and Killie lose and we can only be overtaken on 38 points on goal difference if the above happens. Strangely, get 38 points via 3 draws and we're safe. The combinations that both County and Killie would need to catch up after drawing with us would mean another team dropping points. ( I think.)
  7. Thistle, County and Hibs have all to play each other. If we beat County then it comes down to a combination of one win, one loss and one draw for the three of them. Leaving 4 teams on 38 points. Killie win 2 and get 39. Hearts beat us and lose their other games. If we draw against County and Killie then they could finish on 37 points with us. Again this involves other draws, with again 4 teams finishing on the same points.. Without the draw, a team would finish on 36 points.
  8. I think we could still be overtaken on 38 points by all the teams but it would have to be on goal difference. If we draw the next two games and get 37 points then again we could only finish in 11th on goal difference. Feel free to prove me wrong, my head's spinning a wee bit from trying to work out the different combinations.
  9. Win on Saturday and we're surely safe, lose and and we could be back into 11th place. How boring would it be if we were already safe in 7th?
  10. Pretty miserable for the spectators too. The Sky rider on the very right is Wiggins (I think). Couldn't get a clear shot of him, then realised Cavendish was coming up. At least I got a decent view this time. Was on the line for the first sprint section a couple of years ago and they all went past in two seconds.
  11. Just watched them going through Selkirk. Surprised to see a breakaway already.
  12. Thoughts and condolences to family and friends. Sad.
  13. Dont move to the Borders then. You can tell it's the town's common riding by the fragrant pong of thousands of horse shits lying around the streets. To be fair I've been in the pubs afterwards with riders that have been out at 6:30 in the morning riding round the hills for four hours and I've never really noticed any muck or smell from the riders. Either my nose has overloaded earlier or they're just muckier where you live.
  14. Not heard all the details but A) On merit. Teams can be promoted to and relegated from the Lowland League. If they meet requirements. B)The invitation was there for the juniors but they feel quite comfortable within their own set up. They have also said that they would be more interested next season. I.e. they'll wait and see what happens and if it works, then they'll get involved. C) Seen as the best way to bring the interested teams from different leagues together. Could have been done via a play off competition but they've chosen this way. D) The Lowland League is equal to the Highland League. Junior teams in the north can now apply for the Highland League and enter the pyramid that way. The winners of Highland and Lowland meet in a playoff to then see who plays off against the bottom team of SFL3. Bit many play offs but that's what the SFL3 clubs would accept. E) Being discussed elsewhere and no definite figures. F) Aye. For the team you bought it for. G) Who knows? I know a few folk involved in the EofS and although they dont think this is perfect and there's issues still to be sorted, they are pleased that at long last there is some kind of pyramid system in place. It's a start. I will probably be more likely to go down and see Selkirk now than I did for EofS games. Might even go to see Gala and Innerleithen as well.
