  1. Which one are you referring to? there is more of a touch of unintended irony to both these posts
  2. A Rangers supporting colleague told me Beale might be the ideal candidate for the manager's role I am trying to fill, unfortunately the interviews are today and Beale can't manage
  3. they originally bought the massive red brick and cream house just round the corner from Donalsdwood (now Moredun) pitches on Moredun road and gave it away to some nuns
  4. I get the impression that Robinson exercises caution over the squad when we play on these shitty plastic pitches and favours keeping it tight and hoping for a result over going for it and risking injuries that will hit such a thin squad hard. I can't really argue with that, the best thing about the two recent games on plastic is that we didn't pick up any new injuries and still picked up two points I will be watching next Sunday's game from a Fuerteventura pub and hope that Saints can top-off my holiday very nicely indeed.
  5. If you think I am against free speech because i believe every right comes with responsibility then it seems you cant read what is in front of you. So called free-speech can do a lot of harm and I guess you know that, I am not for censoring people. I just know that society pays the check that these people's mouths write. The damage this so-called "free-speech agenda" is causing is bad and will get way worse. There seems to be a growing tendency for people to deliberately say provocative and unpleasant things about others so they can claim that their right to free speech is being impeded. You do note, you never gat ANY of them saying something nice , though they all have the means and opportunity to do so. GB news and Talk TV are wall-to-wall unpleasantness all day long. The word "woke" in the context of today is actually a smirkingly unpleasant misappropriation of a word that Black Americans used to described themselves in the 30s (that wonderful time for civil rights). They used it to explain that they woke up to the unfairness, prejudice and oppression that they faced and started to act. The phrase "I woke" became "I am woke", the oppressors and others initially used it to belittle black people who complained about their lot. Now we have some wonderful people using a word that they are unaware of the context it was coined in to belittle anyone with an opposing view to beligerence, intolerance and indeed, greed. The likes of the owners of GB news and also many of the publications you mentioned are on a mission to grab both the mainstream and the online media. They deliberately court controversy and use intolerance to do so as they like to wave a martyr's banner of censorship and intolerance when they are pretty much intolerant of anyone else. I dont agree with everything Frankie Boyle says, he got it right though when he said Brexit was Karma for people who voted Conservative thinking that it would only f**k other people up, and that is the right wing agenda . Support any voice or cause that demonises or scews over other groups as it increases your chances of prospering over them. They might be right but there is a very real prospect that their larger slice of the pie is going to be the lion's share of sod-all by the time they are done wrecking.
  6. My trainee in my last job has a CV and linkedin profile that has him as my manager for that time. He got quite a way on that before his limitations crept back up on him and he is back in the job I signed him from 15 years ago There is nothing that is harder to overcome in your work-life than overstating your credentials and ability once you are busted.
  7. Freedom and free speech are rights that come with responsibility, because free-speech has the power to alienate and belittle. If someone has misogynistic views then they should keep them tothemselves rather than trying to rally the other animals that agree with them, but because thay have these views they are not the sort of person to keep counsel or just be a little careful ariund what they say. Telling unpleasant truths is often necessary and should be valued when the intention is to have a better debate. To go out looking for things that you decide you disagree with, with the intention of attacking a person who you disagree with is actually pretty vile. The trend now is to brand anyone with a moderate or even caring view as "woke" and people use the term freely without realising that the context they are using it in is unintentionally racist As for GB news, i am afraid that they exist to further the reach and aims of extreme-right wingers who want to hijack the tory party as a way of gaining power. They peddle untruths and only want to hear their own agenda.
  8. I think there is a difference between saying what you see and moaning
  9. All agreed Hibs were faster and played with more intent, our players rarely got a second on the ball without challenge and for parts of the game there seemed to be more of them than us on the pitch. I think Saturday's efforts left the team looking tired from the start, which is a worry. Strain, Olusanya, Kiltie and others wilted badly in the second half. Boyd-Munce and Mandron were both shattered a while before the substitutions. Add to that, we seemed to be benching players in order to take a tight scoreline into the last part of the game, maybe it would be better to start with your strongest line-up and then take players off if they are tiring rather than trying to steal it. I hope the coaching staff learn from this, we dont seem to have the fitness to play with the intensity we normally do for more than a few games and it'svery like last season, we simply don't have that kind of squad. On the plus side, Small really looked the part when he came on, maybe it would have been a different game if he had started and dragged a few defenders wide to give more space to the strikers. Robinson might well have prioritised the league over the cup knowing the above. Two big games in the offing to stay top 2 or three so let's hope everyone is ready for the next few weeks. Most players will get an international week break soon so if we can hang on, regroup and then get some players back from injury the run-in to Christmas looks good
  10. Blowy, but not at all wild over on the east coast The rain has stopped and the clouds tell me the wind is swirling from the south-east so maybe a rare occassion when the Leith area gets a wee bit of shelter Then again, maybe not. From where I am standing it miles from Easter road it looks like no problem, Police Scotland have forced cancellations due to travelling fans being exposed to weather risk before though.
  11. she got another job, If you are thinking of the guy who did the "Coast" programmes, he is now peddling conspiracy theories on right-wing channels.
  12. That is quite a distance between the two buildings for the noise to be a nuisance issue, fairly weak from the brewery. Was it Whibread? (I know they stopped being a brewery some years ago)
  13. And it's all down to personal preferrence as to which one you favour.
  14. The storm will hopefully not have a big impact on travel, however it will impact the game as Easter rd experiences that strong wind along the firth of forth Hopefully the conditions won't defy good football tonight
  15. Glad it was good. We went in a group of 6 about 4 years ago and only 4 main dishes made it to the table and it took a while to sort the bill out, so although I've heard it can be nice we haven't went back since the food & service at Pendulum and Genova has never disappointed.
  16. No VAR for tonight so we should hopefully get away by 21:45 or no later than 22:35 if the is ET and pens
  17. I thought he never really showed up in that role I loved the man fron UNCLE when I was a kid, The TV shows, that is.
  18. Gogic was like 3 players today central defender and sweeper in front of and behind the defence and he looked like he could have done another 99 minutes at 5 pm Just class
  19. Solid line up and as expected might be a need to use Flynn as an early sub to organise the defence which still needs a bit more leadership on a train from central full of Jambos just now
  20. Your right, kinda It is apparently in force but they wont charge until June next year. I thought they started at the same time as Glasgow. Whoops
  21. I think you will find that it is mostly children. Why did you pick such corny names?
