  1. Ahhh so your original statement should read the "end" of last seasons progress ( after Rae took over ) I think if any St. Mirren fan was asked before the start of last season if finishing 6th in the championship would be regarded as progress they would have most definitely said no
  2. Of course Rae has done an excellent job and I agree there is an excitement about next season but could the whole of last season be regarded as "progress" ? I personally don't think so ...
  3. On your second question faraway what "progress " did the club make last season ?
  4. I agree perhaps he could have been more detailed in his vision but I think it's pretty simple , give the club a new lease of life ( we all agree this is much need ) get the fans more involved along with finding more revenue streams into the club .
  5. As Callum correctly pointed out nobody on the forum is an official spokesperson for SMISA this is purely a discussion and people expressing their own personal opinion, if you have specific questions many can be answered on the SMISA website and if not by emailing [email protected] , which I myself have done several times and always got a very swift reply. 655 members currently I think is a pretty good return we just need that final flurry of undecided supporters to get us over the line , as many have pointed out I think the main reason fans are holding off signing up is because the club isn't desperate like hearts & Dunfermline etc were , we are a well run club who are just looking for some much needed fresh ideas and to safeguard the clubs future , I personally believe that future is best safeguarded in the hands of the people who care about it the most ... The fans
  6. Question asked at 45.41 in this video :-)https://www.facebook.com/GintoSmfc/videos/892498140862443/
  7. The figure of 900 was put to George on Thursday and he said if by deadline they had 900 they would go to the board with the proposal and he would "expect" that to be suitable but 1000 remains the target
  8. Good interview with with Gordon here http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/gordon-scott-opens-up-bid-8017627#IvqWmBm8fk0V2rEe.97
  9. Was confirmed that 17% of the total was £25 p/m members and that 20 people were paying £2500 up front so your right in monetary terms we are are much further ahead
  10. Link to last nights video of meeting for anyone who missed it , ie REA :-) https://www.facebook.com/GintoSmfc/videos/892498140862443/
  11. Good quote from Gordon today in the press Gordon Scott said: “The current board deserve a lot of credit for all they have done over the years – but one way or another they are going to sell up and move on. “St Mirren fans have a simple choice – either be part of what are doing and build the future of our club together, or leave that future entirely to chance. “It would be a life-defining achievement for me to become chairman of the club I have supported since I was a boy. “My aim is simple – work with the fans and the community to give St Mirren the fresh ideas it needs, get the club back into the top league where it belongs, and hand it over to the fans to safeguard forever.”
  12. He's taken over form Brian so I would imagine he would be doing a similar role to what Brian did...
  13. Gordon has already stated publicly that Tony will remain if SMISA Bid goes through
  14. Well for one the initiative to bring a friend for free seemed to work well , ( which I believe was his idea )and get all 4 sides of the stadium pretty full with St Mirren fans , he also brought some much needed positivity into the club when we really needed it . Whilst Alex Rae has been on holiday in the Algarve Tony has been concluding the 3 recent deals as well, he has only been in the job a few months so let's give him a chance
  15. That's the job he is doing currently and seems to be doing it well ...
  16. Gordon said tonight he is open to having more fans on the board and he is open to anyone who has the right expertise ( ie st Mirren supporting businessmen ) and who can come in with fresh ideas to get the club moving upwards again which seems pretty refreshing to me . The club desperately needs fresh ideas and enthusiasm the current BOD have served their time and by their own admission are tired and lacking new ideas
  17. Very encouraging to hear 17% ( around 96) of the sign ups are £25 per month members and the 20 X £2500 members been taken up , along with the 563 current members that's a good total , hopefully we can see further momentum over the coming weeks to get us over the line! Gordon maybe isn't the best speaker but he is passionate and knows the club inside out and would be a good chairman IMO
  18. He admits himself in interview on website that he needs a good pre season under his belt and there's a lot more to come from him , if I remember correctly he had a great start to the season with Dundee something like 8 goals in 8 games , so hopefully he can replicate that with us ! I thought his link up play was excellent if he can add goals then great
  19. Periscope and Facebook live I believe
  20. Nice back page spread in today's PDE
  21. Goodwillie would be a better signing IMO , only 27 and surely wants to get his career going again ... was excellent at Dundee Utd first time round and has shown glimpses at Aberdeen
  22. I'd be disappointed if we lost out to Wrexham , surely we are a more attractive proposition to the guy than the 5th tier of English football?
  23. I was also getting concerned but more confident now after the fans council statement and contacting season ticket holders also with George being in the 1877 club before and after game should hopefully have an effect , I also am led to believe there will be increased media coverage around this next meeting and that it will be video's and streamed online with members on hand with laptops to sign people up on the night
  24. Great news that the fans council are getting behind the bid and will be contacting all season ticket holders re the next meeting on the 19th May, after that meeting I'm confident we will get over the line !
