Ever say something dopey and then feel embarrassed? I'm retired but still deal with a few of my old clients and yesterday I was on the phone to a woman who leases a house from one of said clients. I've spoken to her a few times but don't actually know her very well. We ended up speaking about a mutual friend, a very elderly man and I was saying to this woman Avril that I thought he had,as I put it ' You know yon illness that makes you fall asleep instantly- what's it called- Oh,aye necrophilia'. At that point, I heard my lady wife laughing through in the lounge. but I thought she she was laughing at something on the TV. Avril didn't say anything and she agreed that our friend wasn't well. When I came off the phone and my wife told me I had said necrophilia I thought she was taking the piss. I was convinced I said narcolepsy. Just in case I sent Avril a text and she confirmed that I had said necrophilia, but she knew what I had meant to say. She said she would have a laugh telling her husband. Anybody got a similar faux pas to own up to?

I did but I didn't want the neighbours seeing my tadger. All our curtains were near the windows. A lot of guys tell me they used a sock. I don't know whether they then put it back on. Going off at a bit of a tangent, a guy I was at school with moved into a bedsit in Glasgow when he went to uni. He was quite successful with ladies and he told us that after he had done the business and removed his condom (we didn't call them that back then- we called them s***t bags, three for 3/9d. from Paisley Surgical Supply in Cotton Street in those days) he flicked it from his fold up bed straight into his sink. What a picture and I wonder what the lady thought about it.

I'm fond of doing crossword and codewords, particularly codewords. Quite often I come across a new word and have to look it up to see if it is a word. Came across one today. Zuggle. Well, I never! Maybe I had a sheltered childhood.

BUT when I think about who St.Mirren needs just now... someone who develops youth someone who has experience of the lower league's who has won promotions in the lower league's someone who has experience and has been Premier experience and silver wear on his CV!
Shame St.Mirren sacked him! because that man kept a plucky wee Alloa in the Championship last season and brought them to Paisley today and gained a point!

Definitely one of the more interesting sports stories of the summer. obviously heard of Rugby Union players switching to League and vice versa, but has there been many success stories when a player has switched sports?
I remember Israel Falou (sp) switching from Rugby League to Aussie Rules, but that wasn't a success! He's now back playing Union...
