  1. This is a fantastic bit of news for the town, some issues with The Range perhaps being a bit of competition for the town centre but I think the town centre is its own problem. The fact we are attracting Tim Hortons to 2 locations in the town and a Taco Bell to Phoenix is fantastic. As for the Wallneuk site, the roads will be a major issue and I fear our planners do their usual sterling job here and cause further issues. The delays at Weir and Incle (I think that's what that street coming from the Thai Siam bit under the bridge is called) are already bad some days. The delays heading into town are also bad, particularly at nights as buds are coming home. I think the daytime rush is people trying to get up and onto the M8 but are forced from Incle, round Weir, Abercorn Street and then up on to Renfrew Road. That problem of getting cars out and perhaps not round Incle, Weir and Abercorn street is the issue. At night, it's the reverse problem and it can be backed up from almost the Watermill to the junction we are talking about. When Tesco were going there years ago, there was talk about tunnelling under the railway or a bridge. I am not sure of the feasibility of that but that would help get cars to the East / South of the town a bit easier. Road issues aside and I will probably suffer from them! Great bit of business for the town and an improvement on what is becoming an eyesore of a site.
  2. Hi all. Is anyone on here a surveyor or can anyone recommend a local one? Looking for a small bit of advice regarding a dpc and drainage. Cheers BuddyH
  3. Far too soon as far as I can see. JR has done a fantastic job but I expect they will be wanting a bigger name (more fool them).
  4. Yeh, the ticket site is brutal and while not ours is a terrible user experience. It tried to charge me an adult price for my son Wouldn't let me add my youngest who has now got his first season ticket Has my old seat against me and I couldn't change it Works different on different browsers Had some bizarre UI features Overall, not quite sure how this got out into the real world. Would have been terrified parting with cash over it! Div, could you take over the ticketing website?
  5. I am talking about the tax band rise of the 40p rate. This IS being implemented by Westminster across the UK apart from Scotland as the snp are not copying... instead our middle earners will pay more in tax than we would of we lived in England. However our top earners get a by as the snp aren't really as left as they want you to believe.
  6. The SNP are a fad... they will probably romp this election but reality is they will be found out soon. What grates on me was their ultra left wing stance pre referendum but when they had the option of taxing the real rich they... eh... bottled it, they wouldn't introduce the 50p rate but also wouldn't pass on the UK tax raise of the 40p allowance to the more modest earners! Seems like the school bully to me, terrified to pick on big boys who can do something about it but happy to pick on those that can't. Prof David Bell, an economist with the University of Stirling and the Institute for Fiscal Studies, said Sturgeon’s decision to reject Osborne’s new £45,000 threshold for the 40p rate would mean the 340,000 Scots earning over £43,000 would pay an effective tax rate of 52p for every pound they earned between £43,000 and £45,000. This would be 20p higher than the same taxpayers in the rest of the UK, because Osborne has tied the higher rate of national insurance to his new £45,000 threshold, changing the bands on which national insurance is calculated. “So if you were offered a promotion which took you from earning £43,000, to £44,000 you may think, ‘Oh my God [, is it worth it],’” Bell said. Also, heaven forbid they start tinkering with the council tax... what will the effective tax rate be for those in the middle!!
  7. If his second is so good, perhaps he should just have the gig?
  8. Is that not the same argument that's been trotted out for our last X managers...
  9. sure that was Ayr and I remember that game well. We did everything but win, we were all over them and from that game you could see we were going to have a great season. Never quite got that from the game at the weekend. Some posters been saying it's only the second game of the season, it was only Dumbarton's second game as well and they simply wanted it more.
  10. Reality is bud, we got what someone was willing to pay... Had he actually been as good as we all think an English club would have taken him easily for 50K more.
  11. Can we go crazy and keep it for more than one season, remember those days!
  12. Stunning kit - absolute Saints classic that, love the fact it is... Black and White! Would love it minus that sponsor ;-) but still good job done and my hiatus from buying the tops will be cancelled! New Gaffer, New Top, My Son's first game to come - Come on next season.!!!!
  13. Love it, just what we need a MANAGER! I'm sure the young Fergie would have been full of this gusto. We've needed this for a long time now.
  14. Compare that to Mallan though mate. He got a chance and took it.
  15. What an excellent idea - it's stuff like that that we need! I'm not sure the numbers are going to stack up, the argument of the guaranteed business doesn't seem to be exciting CK it seems....can't be worried about the business but from what I understood it wasn't at full capacity last year but I suppose he needs to balance this off against businesses going for similar deals. TBH, I don't see it being too much of a stretch to sort something out for a fans group. If the season long idea doesn't work, then perhaps a B&W army day could be sorted on one of the quieter games at a favourable rate.
  16. The most selfless act ever seen - a prime example of playing for the team. Excellent move and utter class to make the pass.
  17. I thought the yes campaign were in the lead for that
  18. What treatment have we had that the other parts of the UK haven't?
  19. Correct, these things do come and go in waves. Just imagine a Lab government propped up by the SNP. Their progressive (tax) policies will remove the potential for labour to get many seats in the UK for a long time
  20. I'm not buying this I'm afraid. I really don't think the language of violence is really what is needed, especially given the bitterness that the referendum has left. Had it been me in my workplace and someone was goading me I'd have dug in tooth and nail, did everything I could to make my product/service/whatever to be better than those smugly lording over me (allegedly). In her scenario surely she should have said something like "it gave her the determination to beat them at the ballot box where it hurts" instead of whipping up the crowd with connotations of violence. Perhaps it's just me but I'm happy to say I've never felt like nutting anyone! I fear some are so anti-labour/anti-tory they won't call out the truths on a number of things they don't like SNP. No party is perfect!
