  1. Someone standing to represent an entire cross section of our community should have the common sense, dignity and class not to stoop so low in my opinion and openly show her hatred for others, goodness if that's what she thinks of labour what would she think of the tory voters she may represent. Not exactly sure how talking about this video we jump to talk about with nukes and innocent people but no I think that's utterly contemptible in my book.
  2. I wonder if that is deemed as acceptable behaviour! I cringe at the possibility of that type of attitude representing half my town.
  3. At the risk of taking this thread back on track... not sure if people have mentioned this in the previous 18 pages: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politics/video-watch-snp-candidate-mhairi-5113388
  4. The McCoist thing must be the biggest wind up on here in years :-) Gave me a right laugh when I read it. On GT having another year and not being able to afford to pay him off, can we afford to have him at the helm? The hard core are losing interest, never mind the fair weather fans. The 2 biggest games against Motherwell and Ross County we were utterly devoid of passion, never mind anything else, that is a must for a manger, to be able to motivate his team - even wee angry could do that! The Jimmy Calderwood shout is a good one, the guys been round the block and I can't see one of his teams performing the way we have done recently.
  5. Wonder if it's spun as redundancy and the player gets a tax break. Or as you say we pay them up and we get some sort of benefit. Anyways, we must be good at it!
  6. Thanks buddy, I was on my phone and the quote never seemed to work! I seem to recall a flare incident about '88/89 I think at the front of the north bank.
  7. Also, could one of our older posters educate me please. Have the SNP always played so far to the left or is this simply a void they can fill given labour since Blair?
  8. We always have had a voice.... we will be sending down the same number of MPs as we always do. Remember SNP don't speak for all of Scotland, they won't represent the majority of votes cast although may send down the majority of seats.
  9. Was that not long after the seats went in the north bank? I think I was in the "enclosure" that day about 8 years old!
  10. Where are, where are, where are the mods...
  11. You could have deposited the minimum then withdrawn the lot bud. Heyho lets pray you up your winnings.
  12. Hasn't Ruth been asking where the money's gone that the Scottish parliament should have been investing in our NHS for a while now? Sure this has come up on the debates with no answer.
  13. I was a youngster back then but how much of the team was Smith's and how much was Miller's?
  14. The article is spot on and like someone else mentioned it's good to see it's not just us thinking it! Makes you wonder just how many players we've burned through over the last couple of seasons!
  15. Soccty - Poetry, could not have phrased this better myself. You missed the pantomime stips we've been forced to endure and bowing down to an odd change of fixture request for Aberdeen oh and the fact TC based his entire picks to fit round Thommo but other than that... nail head and all that.
  16. Couldn't agree more, if we couldn't use the facilities and the springboard of a cup win to take us to the next level then I'm not getting how a relegation will and the cuts that WILL come with it. Will we be paying 3 managers net season! TC, GT and the guy they surely must replace GT with? We do however need a right good gutting and anyone out of contract will be no loss. Good bye guys and lets get people in that will fight week in week out.
  17. One thing that I recall from the AGM that really never sat well with me was the boards answer to a question on the quality of signings TC had been making. They claimed it was his remit and they wouldn't get involved. I get that to a certain point, my boss lets me get on with my job but if things go wrong he is entitled to pull me up, it seemed none of the BOD were interested in doing this.
  18. I've been keeping my powder dry on this, waiting on the season to finish to vent however, we trail motherwell 2-0 and yes, the season is over. I've kept to quite constructive comments about the state of affairs at St.Mirren but enough is just bloody enough - I am sick of it. I've been a bit of a fan of the BOD, they stepped in when we had Reg Brearley lurking and guided us through a tough financial time taking the burden of debt on themselves. They also did the deal which painful as it was, kept us afloat and we've got a new ground and training park out of it but my goodness how they have failed this season. I don't for one minute expect us to be in the premier every season, I've been watching us since 86 hardly a vintage period from then to now in our history I've seen the bad with the occasional good but what stinks this season is what could have been, what hasn't been and the decisions that got us there. I wasn't to fussed about getting rid of Danny I thought (how gullible) that we were taking another step up. I'd have paid part of his wages myself if I thought we would be getting Tommy Craig in. What an absolute farce, dressed up in continuity but in reality a cost save. How that decision utterly back fired - are we still paying TC's wage? The BOD are the cause of this problem and I fear badly for next season, we know the standard of the teams in the first. Sort this out now BOD. Get a proven manager in.
  19. Is it just me or is this 7500 fine a bit odd? A one of penalty for a continual breach of the rules. Just as he's been fined pocket change doesn't mean his dual interest has changed? Surely this should be a rolling punishment until his dual ownership stops?
  20. I don't read any papers these days, full of their own agendas and itching to be controversial in order to get sales but did click the link to read this. Seems I may be in the minority but I actually like staying in Paisley! Yes, we know the issues but the positives for me outweigh a dilapidated town centre. Happy to discuss with Tess if he wants. Been all over this country and quite a few places beyond and must have missed the utopias people think exist outside our border! If it is so bad, I wonder why he's stuck around for so long... perhaps these poor fans spending all their money on his wages!
  21. The SPFL said they won't take action... when will UEFA step in and sort it out. Goodness, we've thankfully purged most of the Racism from the game and society, certainly from where we were in the 70s and 80s but this poison seems to be going no where. I can feel the tide slowly turning on this scourge n terms of the problem being highlighted to the non-football public. The media are beginning to show the shame this crew bring and with the publicity guys like Collymore generate with this it will only add pressure.
  22. Suppose we could go on and on about this. Still think a mistake has been made. If he was so good when the contract was signed, why didn't he walk then.
  23. Would he have gone for fee though buddy? Didn't we knock back offers for him before (I may have imagined that though) as we were certain on a reasonable development fee? Turning out to be an utter shambles of a season tbh, goodwill towards the current custodians draining fast. I've been trying to weigh this one up since the news broke and it's really not sitting well with me. A mistake has been made somewhere. Either the release clause was set far too low. I'd reckon 4 or 500K would have been fair for both or there was no release clause and we let him go far too cheaply.
